The police headquarters, where they said that he turned 29 yesterday on the day of the ambush. He is from kansas city, missouri as they recovered three guns, which are being analyzed. They are looking into the shooters social Media Presence including the video posted on july 10 as he was in dallas after the attack there that killed five officers. Now, they believe that he had been in baton rouge for several days before the attack. Well in the span of ten days, that they had been killed by the attackers, now the deadly shootings have happened in the Law Enforcement across the bay area on high alert. And one association is demanding more support from the city government, here with how officers and the city leaders are addressing their Public Safety concerns during this difficult time. And that it will always be dangerous, but even greater awareness and their concerns over how difficult that it is being a Police Officer these days. In san jose each officer, whether to ride solo. And that we saw both. And that it will be a great time for officers across the country. Certainly that we need to do all that they can. And they came after the san jose Police Officer association that they issued that statement following their Baton Rouge Police shootings. The statement that pulled no crunches, but that they read in part we dont need anymore statements of the heinous acts with the pledges of the remorse for those murders that we need action. And they will also ask for them to come up with the necessary staffing. And the whole standpoint on making the investment and everything from the ballistic play to the Communications Equipment that they will need to be ready to get the best intelligent of all times. That they will continue to ride on the twoperson patrol on the practice following the dallas shootings as they say that they will be checking in to see how they will be dealing with them emotionally to make them available. When people are expressing such hatred. And taking the hatred to apply it to everybody in that group that it is such a danger when the other people, when they would create that for them. The relationship between police and their communities across the country are volatile best to fraction these days that the citizen shootings, police, many city leaders are more important than ever for police in the public to build trust. And that it will be more about leaving out, you know, fanatics, bad apples, that it is really thinking about what we as a government can do to build institutions that are more fair and more just and that people will believe in. Rebuilding relationships and those institutions will take time and time does not stand on anyones side right now. Where over the weekend there is a black lives matter protest and that instead that they would suggest to have a barbecue. And that the black lives matter movement, they would have a nice barbecue to bring the two sides together. But thats my point. What could be done here when they will get such a divide between the police and their communities. And they will beat officers to go out. And to get to know the people in their neighborhoods. And that it will be worse with some officers on their Housing Authority to play basketball. Well have that story a bit later in the newscast. Its a bit priceless. But it seems like it will need to take time and it is not a quick thing where you do it and that everything will be great. But it will take a lot of them to do it and that San Francisco will do it and oakland has been doing it as it will just take time. And then you need to go back to it in the wake of what happened in dallas. And hey im rethinking what you do or that they are worried on their recruiting classes. And most of your experience to these officers what they are talking about, you know, leaving the job for that reason certainly. I mean that there is some unhappiness on how they need to land it that they are not necessarily bowing out of the job. The possibility that it might be more difficult to recruit younger people, you know, coming up, that they want toe think that worthwhile reason and that it is just a horrible cycle that they are going through and that it will come to an end. And maybe that they will get more people to come together in the end. Thank you. Now to the first day of the Republican National convention in cleveland. He challenged them with a question. And of course the officer would jump at that opportunity. And take a look at what happened. This is video posted on the pick up game in the backyard to the grandmothers home on saturday. And so ktvu caught up with malik, his cousin, and the officers for a rematch. The housing Authorities Say they do this quite often so that there is not much attention. We are not surprised at all that they went into the back to play with the kids. Im also not surprised at the result of the play that they lost to the kids. Reporter that they built solid relationships with each other through hoops. That they say it will be especially important now and with recent attentions of the killings and by police. And that later on that they could remember back in the day. And that you know what, that it will be a good thing on their part. And more officers, they probably knew that. Reporter and more officers, they would do just that. They worked up a sweat to show off the fancy moves. And on having fun and that you are acting with the community to show that with people. And i know with my basketball skills. And these housing authorities will be back next week to play with the kids and that the cops have invited these kids to the Police Station for the other game. And that it actually happens more than what we would think as they have been doing it for a while. Without fanfare, probably before youtube and videos would come out as they want to interact with these kids to tell them that they are doing good in the community. It is just such great story especially when that little boy went up to the officer. When they wanted to play what was it like being out there . And that it made my heart sing and after a year of crying that i rarely do get the chance of being the positive story. And that they will need to see things with the cops and the kids. And that the Police Officers lost. Yes. That it will be really nice to see. Yes, it really is. Henry, thank you. You bet. Depending on how secure you feel and the ocean. The chance for a lifetime that will be more terrifying for a few seconds. But that Half Moon Bay and the whale bumped right into her. And that they were playing their flute on the paddle board when that humpback whale came super close. And that we mean close. And that she managed to stay on the paddle board. On out there. I cannot imagine. Our chief meteorologist is off and imagine that youre out there. I remember that it was last summer when the whale breached right on top of the canoers out there. Its an amazing pictures of more whales and sharks and all kinds of things that seems like this year. Youre right. That the warm waters of el nino will be playing a part of that. But for weather that we will be in a cold pattern for this time of the year running a little bit unseasonably below sea level. And right along the coastline that it will be mostly clear. As we get into the evening hours that they will begin to move across the bay. Right now that it is where we will continue to see partly cloudy skies. And that it will be fairly thin at this point and again that it will be moving back in through that evening hours. And partly cloudy skies. And 21 miles an hour from oakland. And that it will be cool and breezy. And concord will be reporting 15 Miles Per Hour here with a sustained wind of 23. Again, notice that the arrow is showing coming from the pacifics. 59 degrees in oakland and napa and low 60s. We have 70 in redwood city and 72 down near the south bay of san jose and the low to mid70s in those areas right around river creek. 78 in fairfield and concord. This is typical. We are typically in the 80s and the 90s, even nearing 100 degrees for the inland cities. For tomorrow a near repeat is expected. We will start out with the possibility of the patchy drizzle with some folks telling me about that in the east bay. And on the coastline as well. And more for you for the same. Along coast and the 70s in the bay with a few low 80s that will be expected for the hotter spots. And expected for tomorrow, 56 in oakland and 56 in concord and 65 in mountainview and that San Francisco will start out mostly cloudy at 65 degrees for you there and as we will get into the noon hour turning partly to mostly cloudy and their afternoon clouds for tomorrow 63 is expected with a look at their north bay for napa tomorrow afternoon. Into the east bay that we will have 68 for oakland and expected for concord and the south bay locations, 77 in san jose and 81 expected for morgan hill on wednesday and minor changes in stored, that they may not notice as they will get into the second half of the weekend into the weekend temperatures climbing. By the weekend the mid to upper 70s back in the forecast for their inland cities. The cooling trend doesnt last too long. Well be back into the heat. Thank you. Coming up, the driverless cars, up for discussion in San Francisco this week. And for their technology that will fail and the regulators will fail. The changes in their legal liability and to watch from automakers before this kind of technology that will spread. In minutes new at 6 00 and born and raised in baton rouge. Remembering one of the officers shot and killed there overt weekend. We hung out here together. J . J . J7 many say it is the wave of the future with their self driving cars. They will be gathered in San Francisco today to talk about their benefits, but as tom vacar tells us that consumer advocates will turn out to voice their concerns. For some drivers that will like to collide there this afternoon in San Francisco and for the hiltons, that they could not come too soon and ironically this week that it will be the sight of the automatic vehicle compose composium. Similar to the one that tesla hit. That they would slow them down. And from deploying what is still developing on the road as tesla and the others have already done. And their technology will fail and the regulators would fail. The consumer watchdog wants the federal regulators to put the brakes on the involuntary goodlines in favor of developing new strict well considered standards. The failure is not just the failure of the video camera to see the white truck, but also the failure of the radar for them to see that truck at all because they shot under that truck and that radar is developed under their voluntary standards. And also on automakers to accept that for their vehicle crashes. And they also want them to modify the systems so that drivers must keep their hands on the wheels. And so it is an unbelievable pandoras box. It will get worse if Obamas Administration officials will give in to these roles.
