Victimized. I feel like everybody involved in that situation has experienced a tragedy. I try not to just stand around and watch people go through the pain that theyre in. Sex trafficking, of course a big problem in oakland. So police hope arrests like these will make a dent in what they call modern day slavery. Do we know for sure here, are there two other young girls missing . Police would not confirm what the status of those two other girls are. But relatives were saying there might be victims out there. It is a big problem throughout the county. What kind of resources are out there for young victims of sex trafficking. The District AttorneyNancy Omalley is a big proponent of rescuing victims of sex trafficking. What they want to do is talk to these girls and not treat them as suspects but to provide them as many resources as they can. Including counseling and treatment and help them break the cycle of violence. So they dont return to the streets or otherwise get victimized. As a father of two, whats frightening, this young girl walking down the street, kidnapped at gunpoint. Just terrifying. She was walking to school. And all of a sudden, a man with a gun, pistol whipped apparently. I was there when she was reunited with her family and she was bursting into tears and everyone was hugging her, it was a horrific sight but thank god shes okay. Thanks henry. Also in oakland today Police Say Two women were shot to death in two separate incidents. The first shortly after midnight on alameda avenue near the fruitvale home depot. Investigators say a woman there was fatally shot while she sat inside a car and then was driven to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The second shooting happened at about 6 45 this morning on international boulevard near 58th avenue. Officers say they arrived on the scene to find a woman shot to Death Outside the rainbow recreation center. Police have not released the identities of either of the two victims. And there is no word on possible motives in the shooting. Now to israel where a gunman opened fire in an apparent terrorist attack. Two men in suits and ties targeted a packed restaurant in tel aviv, four people are dead, others injured. Ktvu is in the news room monitoring the latest from tel aviv. Many questions are going to be asked about security at this place. Because months ago, the senator had been warned that it was leaving itself, its employee, and its customers way too open to the risk of terrorism. Posing as diners two well dressed palestinian cousins pulled weapons from their bags and opened fire on customers celebrating the holiday in a popular cafe. The cafe is in the middle of tel aviv in an open air mall, entertainment and dining complex. The head of israel squad, paramedics rushed many ambulances to the scene. We have around ten casualties. At least one in critical condition. Individuals need to report or provide response for any casualty incidents inside israel. Especially in the middle of the town. The latest reports indicate in the two moments of gunfire, four were killed and two more wounded. Israeli Security Forces arrested one of the gunman and wounded the other who was taken to a nearby hospital. In april, Israeli Police tried the close down the 93,000 square foot mall because police said security was lax and not sufficiently secure. Turning now to the race for the white house, it looks like Hillary Clinton and donald trump will hit the ground running as the race for president is about to really heat up. The big question now is whether democratic rival Bernie Sanders will concede or keep ongoing until the convention in philadelphia. President obama is expected to try to set the wheels in motion for sanders to accept clinton as the nominee when they meet tomorrow at the white house. Donald trump has scheduled five fundraisers in coming weeks. Three events in texas next week. And hes expected to raise money in new york city later this month. So far hes only had one major fundraiser as a candidate that brought in 5 million. Donald trump has been self funding his campaign up until now. The race between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton here in california was supposed to be a lot closer. In fact, some called it a toss up. So what happened . Reporter the three poles showed in recent weeks in a the lead narrowed that clinton had over sanders to just a few points but yesterday voters handed down a decisive win for clinton with a 13 point win. And there are several factors that may explain it. Earlier today i spoke with Political Science professor from san jose state university, melinda jackson. She also does political poling. Although she didnt for this race. She says this illustrates the increasing challenges that pollsters have to get a true snapshot. She says one of the problems is that these three poles were done by telephone. And its harder to get people to pick up the phone with half of americans no longer having a land line. I dont think the poles did a bad job. These are all good reputable poling companies. Its just really challenging to try to get the right mix of likely voters. Particularly in a primary election. Which is less predictable. And tends to have lower turn out. Jackson also says there were other challenges such as decline to state Party Preference voters they had to request a democratic ballot. Some werent able to do that. Some mistakingly registered independent which disqualified them from voting in the democratic primary. And sanders supporters were younger and newer to the electoral process. And those groups have lower turn out. The press came out the day before the primary. Saying clinton had enough super delegates to clench it. Unclear if that played a role as well. I spoke with another political watcher, way lynn from sanfords hoover institution, he says the Hoover Institutions pole was actually the only one to get it right. A week ago, a week before the election, they put out a pole showing clinton with a 13 point win. He says what made their pole different than the others is they did theirs online. Back to you. At about 1 00 this morning, a herd of goats could be seen near the westbound lanes there. Just outside the tunnel on oakland on highway 24. The goats were being used by cal trains to clear brush as part of a fire abatement program. There you see them moving them out of the area there. What are the chances of that . Its kind of mild for this time yeah, i mean, the whole week has been very similar. We started off last week with the record warmth, temperatures in the triple digits. And this whole week thus far, it will continue this way, kind of cool, kind of moist, just kind of that way, you see the fog offshore, you see the high clouds overhead. And the fog bank along the coast, its sort of interesting, if you look at it actually ill come back to my camera here, you can see the fog sitting off behind the east bay hills there. And that fog is whats happening is, even though its not continuous going across the bay, as the winds flow in like this, the cool moist wind hits the east bay hills and all the air converges, it goes up and creates a fog. Thats why you see fog and low clouds in those hilly locations first. Its a horrible explanation. Sorry. I thought the picture would be easier to understand but the idea being the fog is having trouble forming in one bang. The moisture is there. The marine layer is there. Its just not cohesive across the board. What youre seeing is the cooling effects but visually youre not in the fog. In the avenues you have clearing. Blue sky in some cases overhead. 77 in fairfield. Two nevada High School Students accused of killing a classmate were in court this morning. 16yearold edwin. And 17yearold juan have been charged as adults with murder and attempted murder. They still have not entered a plea. A judge today postponed their arraignment to give their attorneys more time to go over the evidence. They were ordered to return to court on june 29th. Enriques Attorney Says he still has not received any information about a possible motive in this case. Theres been a lot of rumors swirling around. But the discovery that we received kind of has yet to indicate that. The attack happened on may 25th in an open space area in marin county. Authorities say the two students were lured there to smoke marijuana and were shot and attacked with a machete. Authorities say theyre still looking for one remaining suspect, 19yearold javier. They say the attack appears to be gang related. A Police Commission meeting in San Francisco is about to get under way on the departments use of force policy. The meeting is scheduled at 5 30 at city college of San Francisco to get feedback from the community. Meetings have been held around the city since january. The Police Department and the Police Commission say the meetings allow citizens to have a voice and also help to provide a stronger more comprehensive policy. San jose police will soon be equipped with body cameras, last night the city Council Voted to spend 5 million to buy almost 1,000 body cameras along with software, and training for officers. San jose joins several other major cities across the country that have added Police Body Cameras to their force. Supporters say the cameras can help both police and suspects by giving people a clear view of what happened. A donation account has been set up for a Fremont Police officer who was critically injured last wednesday in a shooting. Another officer who was also shot is also improving but hes asked that all of the donations go to his colleague. Donations will be accepted at any Wells Fargo Bank. The Fremont PoliceOfficers Association is also accepting donations the officers were injured following a traffic stop. The suspect ended up barricading himself inside a home where he fatally shot himself before the house caught fire. The candidates for president are digging in after yesterdays primary. The woman accused of stabbing a 12yearold boy at a bank made her First Court Appearance today. 32yearold iona was charged with attempted murder and robbery. Police say she was trying to rob customers at a Wells Fargo Bank on monday when she suddenly stabbed that little boy sitting in a chair. He had surgery and is now out of the hospital recovering. Investigators say the attack was completely unprovoked. And tonight were actually hearing from that little boy. Ktvus rob ross spoke to the 12yearold and his mother about what happened. How is that little boy doing tonight . Well, the boy is in a lot of pain but despite that, he was friendly, polite, and hes expected to make a complete recovery. The back area here, mainly here. And on his hes laying against it but on his back toward his spine. Jacob is out of the hospital wearing Warriors Gear that covers his bandages except for the one on his arm. He described the attack inside a bank. So i guess i felt something on my back. And then i tried to run but i guess i blocked her. And i kind of got my arm. First and foremost im thankful my son is alive. His mother is grateful he survived she gets emotional talking about seeing him in the hospital for the first time. I broke out in tears of course. Thankfully hes alive. Jacob was visiting from arizona and was with his grandmother inside this Wells Fargo Bank when police say a woman stabbed him in the back and shoulder with a pair of scissors. They say she then robbed another customer. Police arrested her. They say she was still carrying the scissors and had blood on her hands. Jacob never saw her coming. Jacobs parents got the call in arizona and had to drive to the bay area. Shock. Shock. When you hear news like this, you cant help but think its a joke. The fact my son lives in a different state was probably even worse. Jacob had to have surgery on his back. He needed 50 stitches but he should be okay. Tired and very painful. What hurts the most. My back. His mother says last night was rough. Nightmares of course. Which is hard to accept. There maybe no rational explanation why someone would attack a child for no apparent reason but it happened. But well get through this, right . Well get through this. The family plans on heading back home to arizona friday still a little in shock but relieved. Im struck by how composed that little boy seems. Hes got 50 stitches in his back. Does he realize i mean hes only 12, does he realize how lucky he was in the sense that he wasnt more seriously hurt. I think he does. And hes shocked and shaken up. I think hes trying not to think about it. Get through the day. Hes a huge warriors fan. Looking forward to tonights game. Hes going to watch it with his family. Hes excited about that. Police say the woman used scissors. She had a pair of scissors and thats what she stabbed him with. It was a pair of scissors she took out of her purse or bag. He could have been stabbed in the neck or hit an artery, and for the mom to not be close. Shes in a different state. To not be able to get there in minutes. Absolutely. She was in arizona. She got a phone call. Like she said, she couldnt believe what she was hearing and they just raced up here to be with him. And theyve been with him ever since. The good news is it looks like hes going to be fine. And so its just fortunate that it wasnt worse than it could have been. And police were able to make a quick arrest in this case. A quick arrest and that woman is in court now. He seems like a real trooper and being a warriors fan, its great that hes got the game that he can watch tonight and maybe take his mind a little bit off of what happened. Thats what theyre hoping. After a month long search, experts are reminding basketball fans why buying knock offs doesnt pay off. A lot of these organizations involved in the sale of counterfeit items are poly criminal organizations. You may think youre buying a shirt and its harmless but youre speeding into a criminal enterprise. An investigation under way after a fire breaks out at a gas station in the south bay. Tracking that thursday forecast, a lot of fog out there. It definitely means a cooler pattern as we push toward the end of the week. Investigators in the south bay are trying to figure out what started this fire this morning at a gas station in sunnyvale. The fire broke out about 1 15 this morning sending flames high up into the sky at the valero gas station. They burned trees. And a u haul truck and a car in a parking lot. Fortunately firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to nearby homes and buildings. Its not yet known if the fire started in the trees or in one of those u haul trucks. Police in the south bay are reviewing Surveillance Video to try to find out who fired several shots today at San Jose City hall. Someone spotted a shattered lobby window and called police around 6 30 this morning. Investigators say it likely happened between 1 30 and 2 00 this morning the bullet hole is in a window near the entrance on sixth and santa clara street. No one was hurt. Marine layer is at the top of that, probably 1800 feet. Just visually. It may be 1900 feet. You get much passed that, up to 22 2200 feet. It evaporates at that point. Were seeing clearing along the coast, we have a low Pressure Center that weakens the high. When the low gets close the high weakens. Thats the case now. The entire ordeal caught on tape as a man tries to kidnap a teenager from inside the store and what you see here is the victims mom desperately fighting back. Fortunately, an off duty deputy showed up at just the right moment. Aaron has the report. Reporter the Surveillance Video of an attempted kidnapping is so terrifying to watch it even left the sheriff shaken. It was unnerving as a Law Enforcement officer. Craig is the accused attacker. The sheriff says at first he appeared to be shopping at a dollar general. Then he grabbed a 13yearold and tried to drag her out of the store. You can tell he searched out his victim, he stretched and then he went after that child with terrible, terrible motives. But the childs mother fought back and ripped her teenager away from his grasp. What you dont see is an off duty deputy stop him before he could get away. Its sad that we have people like that in society. And im glad that it worked out the way that it did. Like the sheriff said, who knows what he would have done later on in the day or a week from now. Youre charged with child abuse. This morning he faced a judge. But it was far from his first time. Hes been arrested five times since 2009 facing charges including firing a gun entailed being aggravated assault with a weapon and resisting arrest. His attorney told the judge just three weeks ago he was found incompetent to answer for a trespassing charge. The sheriff says incompetence is not an excuse in this case. When youre in a store and you start to stretch, dont let anybody, anybody try to convince any of the media or any of the people in our community that this was unintentional. Once again, that was aaron reporting. The judge ordered him to under go a mental evaluation. The backslash against the sitting Santa Clara County superior court judge reached a fever pitch. A convicted rapist was convicted to six months in jail. Critics called the sentence dangerous. And they want him removed from office. Court Officials Say they received telephone and email threats mostly from outside california targeting him and his family. We apparently are going to get to the story in a moment. We apologize, it apparently isnt ready at this time. Plans are in the works to build a fourth disney hotel in anaheim. Disney proposed a 700 room four star hotel scheduled to open in 2021. It would be the first hotel built on the disney land resort in nearly 20 years. Disney Officials Say the project would create thousands of jobs and benefit anaheim with more than 750 million in additional tax revenue over the next 40 years. The average nightly rate at the hotel would be about 450. Okay. We now have that piece from jesse. We were reporting on the backlash against a City Superior Court judge. Hes the one who sentenced that sanford student convicted of sexually assaulting a woman at a party, he sentenced that person to only six months in jail. There is absolute outrage over that. In fact, the judge is now getting some death threats. Ktvus jesse garry has our report. By all accounts, judge aaron was considered a fair and even tempered jurist. But days after sentencing brock turner to six months in jail, the judge has become the focal point for judicial reform. People and political leaders from all over the country questioning his handling of if case. Senator Claire Mccaskill of missouri said six months in jail would be an inappropriate sentence for rape. Her democratic colleague, kirsten of new york says the short stay in county jail sends the wrong message. California attorney general Pamela Harris also weighing in. My entire career has been as a prosecutor. Being a voice for victims. And the concern i have in that case is that that victims voice was not heard it was not respected and she was not given dignity in the process. That feeling that the victim was over looked when justice was handed down sparked an online petition. 400,000 digital signatures are on the site seeking his removal from the bench. First piece in the process of a recall has not been filed with our office. We have no official recall. Santa clara registrar of voters shannon says online efforts dont impact the judges standing here. There are two clear cut ways to have him removed. It takes many months to do. The write in process also has specific steps they must follow. To recall the judge, proponents would need to gather 58,000 signatures. Roughly 20 of the registered voters from 2014. Those signatures would need to be certified by the office before being turned over to the board of supervisors. Then a special election would be Held Next Year to replace the judge. A right end candidate would need 600 signatures by august 17th. That name would need to get more votes than perskys this november. Michelle dobber says shes ready to bear the burden of paying for this procedure. There are a group of very politically engaged women, fundraisers, political operatives. Political consultants and now elected officials who all feel that the judges sentence in the brock turner case was both wrong and dangerous. On san jose streets today, Public Opinion running against the judge. I kind of agree with trying to recall the judge just because i dont think its like a fair sentence for what brock turner did. Its a difficult situation. I see both sides. But i know that judge is probably reconsidering what he did. You know. And thinking twice. So hes a good judge but he doesnt care about the damage thats been done to this woman. Thats what it sounds like. Maybe its just hes the bad apple. If youre wondering about brock turners sentence, thats pretty much a done deal. Legal analysts tell us unless theres new evidence brought in against the accused or against the judge, its not going to be thrown out. A teenage girl kidnapped but rescued by police. Now relatives tell us she may have been a victim of sex trafficking and that other potential victims may still be out there being held against their will. The 14yearold victim is home safe and sound tonight. But her family tells us her two friends are not. Good evening everyone. Im frank summerfield. And im julie. We get more on this developing story from ktvu Crime Reporter henry lee. And henry, you were there when the girl was reunited with her family. What happened . It was an absolutely gut wrenching scene. This girl was in tears. Being hugged by family members. She was clearly traumatized by her ordeal. The 14yearold girl was kidnapped at gunpoint from an oakland street while walking to School Wednesday morning. At one point she was able to escape her abductor and contact her mother who called police. Her daughter was kidnapped and pistol whipped. The investigation led to this apartment at the corner of 65th street in north oakland. Police arrested the suspect and reunited the girl with her family. Relatives told ktvu they believe the girl was a target of a sex trafficker. Two other girls may have been taken gun violence take against their will. My family received a phone call saying my cousin got away. Her other two friends did not was able not get away. No other girls were found at the home. We watched as
