Yesterday the union voted unanimously to approve a set of rules for using body cameras. Now will find out whether officers will be able to look at footage before filing reports. Because of the brutal nature of this crime, the da has charged the underage defendant as adults. The law allows us to charge in cases of a brutal murder. If the District Attorney makes a determination, that is there decision as far as fairness is concerned, that is a something the courts will consider. It is mind blowing and very touching do we have such great Law Enforcement support in our area. It means a lot to us. The officer shot twice is in stable condition. The 1st officer shot with one year service was shot one time and he is in Critical Condition. We are moving into starting our 2nd hour of our technical search. Not much has happened. We are moving slowly. As we get into the evening hours it starting to cool down. Officers are wearing a lot of gear and its hot. Were getting calls about our drone or unmanned aerial system. We are using that to check spots we cant see with our helicopter. He gives us a little more advantage in certain situations. Right now, yard to yard, moving slow. Nothing of note yet. We are clearing a large area. Residential, condominiums, theres a lot going on. At this point that is all we have. In the meantime, we are here to support the fremont Police Department. Its important for us to go finish this job and arrest this suspect for them. So they can begin to start to heal. They have a lot going on and we ask, like fremont has said, you respect the traverse the wishes of the officers and give them time to get their bearing about them. Right now we are looking for one suspect. We believe the shooter, the person who shot these 2 officers 3 times. This is obviously a very dangerous individual. He has shown a propensity to do violence and hurt to Police Officers. That puts our people in a very dangerous situation. In order to alleviate any further danger you have to move slowly and tactically. You have to make every decision count. There are reports of that. We cannot confirm that. Weve not seen the suspect. Weve not had any, munication. He may be wounded but we dont know that. If that is the case we will find out during the search. We believe the officers guns are accounted for.
