Authorities say writing on the walls of the home appeared to be two two different authors. One set of handwriting appeared to be omarrs. Police continue to investigate the motive. I will simply state that theyre working tirelessly to appears those questions and to ensure that both of these victims receive justice. Back in the day, he used to be made fun v. Im shocked in a way, but i wouldnt say that im completely shocked. Reporter the brothers are being held without bail. A preliminary hearing is set for may 9th. In san jose, ann rubin, ktvu fox 2 news. This afternoon family, friends, and members of their Faith Community gathered to remember the rabbis. A Prayer Service was held at the Muslim Community association in santa clara. In Milpitas Police say a man who was shot and wounded is expected to survive. Police say the officer pulled a 27yearold man over in the parking lot of the executive inn on dempsey road just before 1 00 this morning. The man jumped out of the car and took off. At some point the officer opened fire and wounded the driver. Police have not said exactly why the officer decided to fire. They have not said whether the man was armed, either. The officer was not hurt. Guests at the hotel said they heard self gunshots. We hear the doors, then shortly thereafter you hear the shots, pow, pow, real quick. We hit the floor. Police say they found a large amount of meth and cash in the car of the man who was shot and they say the man from san jose had three nobail warrants out for his arrest. The suspect was taken to the hospital and again he is expected to survive. The california Gop Convention is in full swing, and donald trump made an appearance today. Sky fox spotted his motorcade arriving near the hotel in burlingame where that convention is being held all weekend. Take a look. Dona trump along with his staff and security actually pulling over on highway 101, then having to walk through a break in a concrete barrier, an unusual entrance, but they had no choice. Hundreds of protesters had gathered outside the hotel, some chaining themselves together to block roads and the front brans of that Hyatt Regency there. The demonstrators shouted, banged drums, and carried signs. Plenty of police were also on hand, some wearing riot gear to keep the crowds contained. A lot happened out there today but lets start with what happened inside the convention. Ross palombo is in burlingame with more on the speech that prompted those protesters to gather. Ross. Reporter frank and julie, as you know its these features over and over again that have caused protesters to come out in such numbers. Theyre upset over the issues of race, the Economic Issues that donald trump is talking about, and today was no different. There were hundreds upon hundreds of protesters on the outside. Take a look at the video we have from sky fox 2 earlier. Donald trump trying to get past them. The officers actuallyescorted him onto the side of highway 101 where he had to get out, walk across a concrete barrier, then walk into the back door of this hotel here. Now, he eventually took to the steak. He was an hour late. He talked about the entire ordeal and did he manage to joke about it. That was not the easiest entrance ive ever made. My wife called, she said, the helicopter is following you, and we did then we went under a fence and through a fence oh boy. I felt like i was crossing the border actually. True. Reporter during the speech it was pretty clear that trumps strategy is to get independents and conservative democrats to actually vote republican. Believe it or not here in the bay area he is getting a little traction. We ran into a samesex couple that is now leaning towards not voting for Hillary Clinton but voting for donald trump. We also ran into several latinos, even an African American man. Listen to his reason. There arent many people like you in this crowd. Absolutely. So i think theres a lot of opportunity, he is special listening to a candidate like donald trump who is really trying to bring america together to really talk to a new generation of voters about whats really out there and whats really important. I think one of the things that hes been focusing on is about trying to create more diversity and create more jobs for the africanamerican community. Reporter shortly after that speech donald trump left. Hes heading back to indiana in order to campaign. Later tonight john kasich the Ohio Governor is going to be here speaking. Thats coming up at 7 30. And frank and julie, i had a oneonone interview with him. Were going to be playing that for you later. Full coverage throughout the entire night. Ross, see you then. Ross palombo in burlingame. So again the california Gop Convention continues through the weekend as ross mentioned. Governor john kasich is scheduled to speak at 7 30 tonight. Then tomorrow senator ted cruz is set to address the delegates at noon, and, of course, ktvu will be there and bring through remarks throughout our newscast and online. As we mentioned, security is tight, and police are on alert as hundreds of protesters gathered outside that hotel. Ktvus jessie gary has been monitoring the situation from outside the hotel. He spoke to some of the demonstrators. He joins us with what they had to say. Reporter julie weve got new information at this hour from the Burlingame Police department. A total of five protesters were arrested out here on bayshore highway, old bayshore highway earlier today. One person for assaulting a peace officer, four others for obstruction of justice and trespassing. Not bad considering what happened down in Southern California last night. One of the people that was injured, two people, that person was in the middle of it all. In 2016 this is what passes for free speech and freedom of movement. Trump supporter chris conway dressed like the candidate causes a scrum. He went through a crowd of protesters with elbows shoving people. He went in the middle. He put himself in the middle of that caage. And he received exactly what he deserved, im sorry. Its the racism that donald trump promotes, and we are going to defend our people here that are fighting against racism by any means necessary reporter after the scuffle and insults, police helped the burlingame native escape over a barricade to the other side of the hedge. I kind of expected it. This is my hometown. Ive been kicked, ive been punched, but i aint going nowhere. Reporter the day began peacefully with protesters locking arms and blocking traffic on old bayshore highway, most united in their ire at the gop and its president ial front retainer. Im putting my bed on the line because i believe strongly hes bad for our country. Reporter officers from state, county, and local law agencies were on hand to keep the peace, protect property and foster public safety. My main entrance interest is protecting the rights of everybody, the First Amendment rights for the people who want to come and protest and for the people who want to go to the convention. This is a democracy. They have the right to do it but they have no right to make violence. Reporter a slow stream of attendees quietly made their way past protesters, most unfazed. Were in the bay area. San francisco has had demonstrations. Its part of the deal and we love San Francisco and we love the bay area. And were happy to be here at this convention. And the scores of people not attending the convention were happy to yell and chant and stand at does iing heights so their stand at dizzying heights so their message is heard. I felt like right now is the perfect time to bring it out, have a voice. Im trying to support america and mexico at the same time. We should be united as one. We shouldnt be fighting against each other. Reporter part of those fights resulted in two people being injured, including a man that was a trump supporter who was trying to make his way through the crowd, guys. Jessie, donald trump has been accused of inciting violence. Could you make an argument here that some of those protesters today were doing exactly what they accuse donald trump of doing . Reporter frank that is interesting, because it depends on which side of the fence you sit, both politically and personally. Some people said that trump supporter, conway, went through the crowd andy initiated the contact, and they reacted. Others said that he was walking through the crowd and they made contact with him. We tried to show as much of the action as we could from the time it started so you can make your own determination. But, you know, it really comes down to i think politics. If you are against donald trump, then you are going to say that that person was insighting the crowd, and he caused this fracas. If you are a supporter of donald trump you will say these protesters are violent and this is what happens. Frank. All right, jessie gary reporting for us tonight in burling game. Very interesting. Jesse, thank you. It s waalso chaotic in Orange County last night as trump made another appearance in costa mesa. Police arrested 17 people there. Protesters were seen jumping on cars including a police car outside the venue. A total of five patrol cars were damaged. Some in the crowd also threw rocks at passing mortdists, and one officer was hit in the head by the rock. But his riot helmet saved him from injury. Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton is responding to a recent attacks from donald trump. She told cnn this afternoon that she has a lot of experience dealing with men who sometimes get off the reservation in the way they behave and how they speak. Clinton did not specify which other men she was actually referring to. But she was responding to a number of comments that trump has made including nicknaming her crooked hillary and claiming that she was playing the woman card in her campaign. Earlier today clinton spoke at a breakfast for a new York City School and avoided any mention of trump, republicans, or even her democratic opponent Bernie Sanders. Every child can succeed. And we have got to believe that, and weve got to invest in that. Clinton has yet to call for Bernie Sanders to exit the race. Her campaign stressed this week that it plans to continue competing against Bernie Sanders in the primaries while acknowledging that she is beginning to shift her focus now towards the general general. Bernie sanders campaigned in indiana today in advance of that states primary on tuesday. Sanders held a rally and spoke out against a recent decision by United Technologies to shut down its manufacturing plants there and relocate them to mexico. The move is estimated to cost about 2,000 workers in indiana their job. If United Technologies wants to receive another defense contract from the tax pay verse this country, they better not move these jobs from indiana. Sanders went on to criticize the north American Free trade agreement saying nafta has cost more than 100,000 people in indiana their jobs since went into effect in the mid90s. And our election coverage continues on ktvu. Com. Stay with us through the night and this weekend as the Gop Convention continues in burlingame. We will bring you governor john kasichs speech live on our website. You can also get updates on the protest and on facebook and twitter. The niners of course doubled up yesterday so they didnt have a secondround pick today but never fear bay area football fans because the Oakland Raiders did. And they went defense for a second straight day. They drafted a large man out of illinois, a defensive end, a pass rusher. Were going to assume those are tears of joy as he got the call. He was a big play guy in the big ten. Not a lot of publicity because he played on a very bad illinois team, but jihad ward givens them another gives them another defensive presence. Carl joseph out of West Virginia was mopping the first two picks. Obviously with all the firepower on offense you cant blame them. The sharks, they havent played in a full week. Ive been on both ends. Ive had some time off and ive also gone from a game seven into the next series. That will be the source of some warming as we head into your weekend. Santa rosa 74, san jose 68. San francisco in the upper 50s. Heres a look at our current wind speeds. We have a big h on here in the pacific, an area of High Pressure. This area of low pressure will be on the move approaching nevada. The pressure difference will be setting up that wind event for the bay area hills. Even tomorrow winds around 15 to 25 miles per hour, maybe gusting to 30. But definitely temperatures will be trending up in your bay area weekend forecast. Take a look at these 80s for tomorrow, santa rose sacks, vallejo and fairfield, vacaville. 85. It will gradually cool things off and still tracking a shower chance until wednesday of next week. So warming temperatures this time of year, i think people will be sneezing a lot more once again with those pollen levels for saturday and sunday. You might want to keep the tissue nearby.
