Sympathies for their loss. Reporter Michael Tyree was in jail for drug possession and theft. Housed on the 6th floor. Thursday morning one of the officers reported Michael Tyree unresponsive, naked and covered in involvement. Attempts to revive him was unsuccessful. A coroner determined the death was the result of internal death due to Blunt Force Trauma. The Sheriffs Office arrested the three after viewing Video Evidence and statements. Body blows. That is how a Blunt Force Trauma tends to be administered. Reporter the family Attorney Says Michael Tyree suffered from mentally ill and was awaiting transfer to a Mental Health facility. His sisters are heartbroken over the loss. They are so sad and they had so much loss with the loss of their parents and now their brother. So it is sad. Reporter the three deputies are housed in Alameda County. They are held without any bail. This is case is being sent to the District Attorneys Office. Their arraignment date is september 8. Did the sheriff talk about what may have been a motive here . Reporter no. There was no specific motive stated. We have her report there was a confrontation. He was alone and he was under protective custody and he was suffering from mentally Mental Illness Mental Illness but the circumstances is not yet known. Azenith smith in san jose, thank you. An attorney joined us to talk about the case and he said he was stunned that the sheriff said the deputies were guilty of murder. The first thing that jumps into my mind is change of venue. How can you get a fair trial now . Not only has she announced in her mind they are guilty, but he also said the crime, murder. Shocking to me she would say that. Having said that it is nice there is transparency and as a sheriff she is stepping up. I think she over stepped there. She could have kept that comment to herself and let the courts decide guilt or not guilt in this case. The undocumented immigrant suspected of shooting and killing a woman along the San Francisco water front appeared in court this afternoon for the fourth day of his preliminary hearing. A gun expert was scheduled to testify. The public defender claims the suspect Juan Francisco Lopez Sanchez fired the gun accidentally july 1. The bullet ricocheted, fatally striking kate steinle in the back. A judge is considering the testimony and will decide if there is enough evidence to hold Juan Francisco Lopez Sanchez for trial. Firefighters waking headway against a fire in lake fire, it burned 670 acres and only 25 contained. Off elk mountain road. This is the third wildfire in lake county in recent weeks. Two others broke out on the south east side of the lake. This latest wildfire broke out yesterday afternoon. Initially there were evacuations but the order has been lifted. 300 firefighters are aggressively battling the flames. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The men went to the backyard. Police say an 85yearold man inside called police to report the suspicious activity. They entered entered the gate. Came in the back. Reporter fearing for his safety he armed himself with a gun and opened fire. One suspect got away in a car but the other ran 15 blocks down the street to the b. A. R. T. Station where police discovered he was shot in the head. It is amazing to think a person with a bullet in their head was able to travel that distance. Reporter Police Identified the suspect as a 34yearold. He had an outstanding warrant for violating his patrol. Got hit in the head. There were a number of other shots fired at the guy. Reporter new details are emerging about the attack inside this womens rest room at napa valley college. Police say a man hid in a stall here. Waited for a student to walk in and then sexually assaulted her. She was stunned to hear about the crime. She uses this rest room all the time. Pretty scary when i got the, like, message. I was going to use the bath room later that day. Reporter this happened in the middle of the school day around 2 00 p. M. In the afternoon on monday. Yeah. It is day light. I expect Something Like that towards the evening. Night time. These are the flyers that have been posted letting everyone know about the attack. The school is urging students to be aware of who is around them and try not to walk alone around campus. Ktvus rob roth reports, that means San Francisco State University police will have tasers but not San Francisco Police Officers. Reporter here at San Francisco State University students dont like the officers carrying tasers. This is very dangerous. Reporter under an agreement, officers will be allowed to carry tasers, including sf state. That has San Francisco police Police Officers shaking their heads. It is ironic, yes. Reporter ironic because the San Francisco Police Department tried for years to win approval to use tasers. But the Police Commission placed so many restrictions the request was withdrawn after a debate. The county has a deal to take care of sick inmates in jail but now the company is under fire. And now ktvus Eric Rasmussen is here with the political connection to the sheriff. Reporter no person or company has given more money to the sheriff than that company. That is no crime and the serf says the money the sheriff says the money went to a good cause. But some question whether he should be taking donations from the biggest contractor. They have been ins beat the jail for decades they have been in business at the jail for decades. We found they have donated more than 100,000 to the sheriffs campaign. At the same time they recommended leaders extend their contract without a public bid. He was beaten to death and now three deputies are charged with murder. Ereh lubrin, Matthew Farris and Rafael Rodriguez have all been booked. Michael tyree was in jail for drug possession and petty theft. A week ago one of the officers reported Michael Tyree unresponsive, naked and covered in vomit. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. His death was the result of internal bleeding due to blunt force droppa. Reporter the family trauma. The family says the sisters are hort broken heart broken and he was suffering from Mental Illness. The three deputies are housed that jail for their protection and they are held without bail. The District Attorneys Office is now reviewing the case and there is an arraignment date set for september 8. Reporter yes, one of the officers did report that he was found unresponsive and another officer that was arrested went inside the cell, they dragged him outside, they said man down and then cpr was performed.
