Reporter the governor was talking about the train engineer, how he was being cooperative but he was in Critical Condition in the hospital. The ntsb said he was released from the hospital but hes still being cooperative. Joel, i understand that the engineer was in the front controlling the train and the data recorders are in the train, there should be easy access to getting them. That will show how fast the train was going. The speed limit at that section of the track is 10 Miles Per Hour. Video cameras are also attached to the outside of the train. The ntsb said that they want to look at that as well. Of the passengers that you spoke to, did they say anything about what happened leading up to it. Was there a sudden movement. Did the train slow down or was it after the initial contact did they realize that they had crashed . We do not have a motive for the attack. We know that Matthew Muller had been a marine of the he went to harvard and got a law degree. Now hes facing years in prison. Cameras were not allowed in court. In a clear voice he ak mojed that acknowledged that he was mentally ill. But the judge said he was admitting his guilt voluntarily. In his pleer agreement he admitted he broke into the home of Denise Huskins and drugged her and took her to his home and held her hostage for two days. Matthew muller demanded a 70,000 ransom. He then drove hundreds of miles where he released her. The Vallejo Police accused the couple of staging their own kidnapping. In response, Matthew Muller said Denise Huskins was telling the telling the truth. Telling the truth. The nicest thing that i can say is that the police are incompetent and do not take responsibility for their incompetence. They blamed the victims. Mr. Mat mull wanted to resolve the case. He did not want a trial consider Denise Huskins would testify. He was trying to show that he was accepting responsibility and we feel that this is the way that will some day open a door for him to return to society.
