I remember jesse back in april, a defense attorney then saying that they needed more time. And there was an issue about the defense attorney working on the case. Running concurrent with this one. Why is it still happening . Reporter heather that case is in its final fazes phases right now. But we talk about delays in that case. It is not connected to the garciatorres case. That in the other case there was a problem with one of the jurors who heard one of the defense, excuse me prosecution attorneys talking while in line getting lunch. That juror started doing research on the attorney, which is a nono. You cannot do anything related to the case except for what is inside that jurys room and the evidence that youre given and that youll need to review for trial. So they needed to replace one of the jurors to bring in an alternate, which they needed deliberations, starting from square one with the the deliberations in that case and so that it is, you know, a little bit of the delay. Because of that they will hold mr. Lopez in to that case until it is completely resolved until they have a verdict or whatever will happen and whether it is a mistrial, etc. So that is kind of one of those things that will be going on with the other case, still impacting lopez, impacting the garciatorres case. Very quickly the latest rounds of briefs have indicated new evidence of sierras cell phone. What can you tell us about that . Theres more on the pipeline that will come online before all of these are sold out. Real estate in San Francisco is a premium product, that we are not making anymore land. That we have, you know, policy that will make it very difficult to develop that land and make it and take a very long time. And the whole price and the wait. That we have kind of being seening been seeing that. The slow down has not caused a plummet in prices, from seeing the wobbles around. Kind of a new normal if you will, but it will not bring prices down or make housing more affordable in a substantial way. I know when i first moved here that there were things that were being offered to renters. First months rent, perhaps the parking garage would be reduced. Are we seeing that perhaps with so many new developments in the market . We are definitely coming into more of a balanced market. A month supply of inventory inal in a balanced market would be six months. Its not a sellers market across the board. Youre seeing moments on some units and some developments and some certain time when they need to hit a threshold, then they will have other incentives that they might have a little something, but it is not going to be substantial. But in general what were seeing is a stabilization. You know, prices on the north end are still substantially more expensive than prices on the south end. That there are no deals to be have, but you know what were seeing is that kind of the market plateau, kind of the general overall trends are pretty positive. Interest rates remain incredibly low. Economy in the bay area is incredibly strong. People want to live here for a whole variety of reasons and we are not making anymore land. Or do you kind of sacrifice and try to make it work in the city . What would you say to someone that agrees with donald trump and thinks that it is a good idea to limit them from certain regions from coming into the u. S. . I would say the same thing that they said to donald trump that they need to read that constitution. The idea of the religious text for people entering the United States that, it is absurd and if donald trump took issue with that policy point of the Hillary Clinton campaign, that will be one thing. But here he went for that anti islamic sentiment again and again as he often has rather than respecting the gold star mother standing in grief and solidarity that he decided to make it about muslim women not speaking. Here i am as a muslim woman speaking. Can he hear me now . But one of the issues, what im trying to get at is that there are people that absolutely like leo, they believe in donald trump and that there are hundreds of thousands of millions of them in the country that are concerned about islamic terrorism that we have seen recently. What do you say to those people that have a general fear if we allow everyone to come in without some sort of extra scrutiny for the islamic people that we could be in danger. I would offer them two things. One the actual data of who is committing terrorism in the country. Most of them attack americans, people born and breed right here. The other thing i would show them is the strict criteria that refugees and others are subject to. Targeting refugees is entirely basis that the rhetoric came after the paris attacks last year, which were not committed by the refugees. And that quickly that their response to that is absurd and that the constitution is here to protect american citizens, precisely from these people who are coming to the country to commit their acts. All the terrorist acts that youll see over the past months are in the United States by people that have been vetted by the government. We dont have the highlights required and that it is absolutely a situation that will call for strong action. That there is nothing in the constitution that says we cannot vet people coming into this country, it is absurd. It is some sort of a person who is trying to stop this immigration that is crazy. Donald trump says that there are good muslims and bad ones. We want to know who the bad ones are. Nothing bad about that. And that these are the people that are trying to divide us. That we are united and that is what is scary that donald trump has brought more people together than anybody else in decades because it is time to unite against threats against our people who kill our gay people in orlando, who murder our women, who crucified children around the world, who decapitated them. These arent christiens or supremacist or white supreme cysts doing these acts. All right, we will have more on this and obviously that what we are showing is the difference of an opinion here, but we appreciate both of you coming on to talk about it. Our political analyst and from the political standpoint donald trump seems to be taking a major hit over this back and forth with this family of the fallen soldier. Yes. I think that it was ill advised for him to never respond. And captain khan who died in 2004 died as a hero walking towards a suspicious vehicle while telling his troopers to stay back. And that car blew up and killed him. Donald trump was attacked at a convention. It was very well choreographed, he put up the constitution and it wasnt, you know, that it was a democratic strategy from the very beginning. No question. He pointed that out on twitter and his response. Obviously that politically when youre dealing with someone who lost a son, what would you say . And what would the advice be that youve got to take it . Right. But it is also true that those folks were invited and that they are gold star parents. That they could have come to talk about what a good muslim that their son was and what a great army officer that he was, and both true. They never mentioned trump. But he did come into the speech. So trump, the whole speech. Right. Attacking trump. You remember that night that he had the general come out. He did a speech and there was a medal of honor recipient who said that Hillary Clinton should be the president and then you would have the folks here who also talked about it as well so it is very much to your point very choreographed, but there are times when you ought not to tweet. And one is that when you are talking about parents of somebody who died, even if they had that political motive, which they were there because they had a feeling about it, that it is not the one to take on, maybe youll take on the general gonial. Right, it seems to be distancing themselves the way from donald trump. And paul ryan, releasing the Statement Today, saying that in part many muslim americans, they have served in our military and they made that ultimate sacrifice. One great example of the sacrifice and that of ghazala khan and khizr khan. They said this. I cannot emphasize enough how badly i disagree with trumps statement. I hope americans understand that the remarks do not represent the views of the republican parties or our candidates. They will have hardcore republicans supporting trump no matter what, but what does this controversy do to the people down the middle who are still making a decision . It is the most interesting thing. For the longest time that every time donald trump has made one of these statements, i have said in many other political analysts thats it, it is done, you know, he is finally doing it to himself. He is the guy that keeps coming back, but he is turning it into an attack on him and that will resonate with a number of people. You wonder when the incident occurs that will finally push him over the edge. A pretty big bump for Hillary Clinton who has got a considerable lead expected to the convention. Yes, absolutely. The bump was in the reigns as i said it would be three to five. He was in the three to five range, she was a little bit better than him on the bump, but we will watch that as time goes on and both numbers will recede. All right, thank you. Yes. My pleasure. Just sever the weekend we reported that it might take a month or longer to finally get this undercontrol. How concerned are you about that prospect . Unfortunately that is a part of living in this area with those droughts. So we are very concerned. Right now, it has been ordered to be alert to be evacuated. We have about 1 of our vineyards in that region. Okay, tell me what is the concern here with all of the smoke and ash . I mean what does it physically do to the grapes . And there is something called smoke change. Just like, you know, if we were out in that fire and that region and that smoky region that we would smell sort of the smoky clothing that would smell funky and so will the grapes. Depending on where the grapes are in their development that the smokier it could be. The good thing is that Carmel Valley will be a very long growing season. And that the grapes have not hit that yet. And it is where the grapes will turn colors where the skin turns color. It is good that they have not hit that yet because there will be a chance of less there is less of a chance of smoke that could happen. There are several things that could be done if we do have smoke tame to prevent that smoky barbecued flavor from going into any of the wines, but it is very sad. Last september the same Carmel Valley had fires near our wineries, so we are all very sad it is happening again. If it does continue and you have this smoke taint, could this mean that the entire year could be wiped out . Sot c so the Carmel Valley only has 1 of our grapes, which isnt a lot. For Carmel Valley some of their big reds will need to be altered a little bit into the wine making process, but the whites should be fine, and in fact you might see more roses. The thing is that they will not include as many grape skins in the wine making process, so the grape skins are what makes wine red. And for the Carmel Valley region if there is smoke taint, which we dont know. But if there is they will go through different processes in the wine of making it and there will be a difference in the actual output. Yeah. But it will be a smoky wine. And so far that the highlands and the valley where most of our grapes are, they are not showing the most, which will be really good. Obviously we are concerned about the vitners and the industry, but you look at homes already destroyed. I mean the fire is really reaching not only that community, but so many people with the effects. Thank you so much for talking with us, executive director of the Monterey County growers association. And time to take a look at our weather. Rosemary first of all how is the fire area. Reporter within the influence of the marine layer that temperatures are mild and relative humidity is up. But you will get above that 2,000 foot mark and temperatures are warm and relative humidity is down. Well check in on that in just a moment, but lets step outside and take a look at whats going on. A beautiful view looking towards San Francisco. We do have blue skies overhead. Possibility of haze and smoke still over southern portions of the bay area and the inner east bay. So here again are the numbers right now. Right along the coastline 65 degrees. Relative humidity 75 . That is some good news there. But you go inland and you get up on the ridges 87 degrees. Relative humidity at 30 , which isnt too bad. We still have that on shore breeze impacting the whole area. But you can see how when you get above the marine layer that temperatures change. And they will continue to push that smoke into our area and so areas of the south bay as well as the inner east bay will continue with this for tuesday as well. Here is a look at the pattern in place as we are sort of sandwiched right in between the low pressure to the north of us. High pressure to the south of us. Actually bringing in pleasant weather for most of us. The temperatures today within a few degrees of where we were yesterday and then tomorrow we will see a near repeat. Outside right now, you can see the on shore breeze and the upper level winds in this direction with a little clearing, even at the coast this afternoon. Pacifica and Half Moon Bay through santa cruz with partly sunny skies at this hour and that the clouds will roll back in for those evening hours. Tomorrow morning it will be widespread to how we would look at it this morning and the the on shore breeze, sustained fairfield at 17 and the reported napa country reporting south and that breeze reporting at 18. A little cool breeze on out there and those temperatures in the lower 6 lower 60s. A lot of the 70s this afternoon. Mid to upper 80s for the warmer locations with the hotter spots, just touching 90 degrees or so this afternoon to the north bay. 77 for santa rosa as we will get going tomorrow morning a lot like this morning and the lower 50s at the coast. Low 60s for some of those inland spots. For the afternoon, we will be looking like this, 64 for pacifica and the mid60s San Francisco. 77 mountainview. You go inland its a warm day, but not bad for that midsummer standard as weve got 90 in livermore and antioch to the north bay. 80 degrees expected for santa rosa with a look at yes, tended forecast as we will get into tuesday and notice that on wednesday it will be a little change when it comes to the numbers. But on thursday, well see a change that well actually see that cool down as we get into thursday and friday and then the first part of your weekend. Ill have that trough over the north that they will continue to deepen and actually that they will bring those temperatures below average as we will get in through the first or second half of the business week, first part of the weekend. Then we will see a little bump for you on sunday. But all in all a good looking forecast and good weather when it will come to the fire and for the folks on out there trying to get that under control. I will send it back to you. Several people as you see in this video created a human chain. That is because a woman was stranded in her car. At one point she gets out of the vehicle, but is too scared to go any further. That is when one of the men risked his life to walk into the water, picks her up and brings her to safety. When the rain finally stopped, the damage there was extensive. It is a disaster area down there that it looks like a war zone, it looks like something youll see on the set of the disaster movie as we want to make the safety paramount. Reporter and at least two people died in the flash flood and that they swept away hundreds of cars. And a nice store front. And that the officials there, they estimate the cause of the damages will run into the hundreds of the millions of dollars. Well the problems will keep piling up for the residence there in flint, michigan. First it was lead contaminated water, which they are still dealing with. And no trash pickup in flint that they will not resume until they settle that dispute over the contractor. But the mayor and the city council are at odds with which company to grant their contract. After the most recent agreement that expired on friday. Now because they have not reached a solution, that frustrated residents there in flint must decide where to stash their trash in the the meantime. First the water now the trash. Whats next .
