My heart started acting strange with arrhythmia and tachycardia, and my joints hurt and it would migrate around and my mind stopped working. I was in graduate school and i was really athletic and smart and all of a sudden, my mind didnt work and heart didnt work and felt like my body doesnt work and doctors couldnt figure it out. And you probably hear this all the time. Right. So what do you do if you hear these symptoms and you think oh, thats me. How can you figure out that you have it . We are not taught a lot in medical school about lyme disease. You have to seek the proper help and ask your doctor, and she also works for the lime organization, and its a comprehensive website, and you know, some of the first tests that are available that most doctors will run might miss it. Its a coin toss. So in that case, you have symptoms and you are not getting a diagnosis and people can see 10plus doctors in many years. And this is a problem in the bay area. Were at risk. Stanford released a study showing that every Bay Area Park where they tested, dragging a flannel flag through the grass, they found ticks and tested them and every one of them in the park had lyme disease in the ticks that they found. What can you do if you are going into a wilderness area . What do you look out for and anything to protect yourselves . Yeah, and thats a great point. We want people to enjoy nature. Its memorial day weekend, and there are common sense things to do. You can wear light clothing and stick to the center of the path and ticks will be poising on themselves on the tips of the grass waiting to hitch a ride and once you are out and come back from your home, change your clothes, put them in the dryer, and tick check yourself and your kids thoroughly, armpits, behind the neck and ears. And showering is a good thing to do when you get home because you can wash off tick that ticks that you may not see. And there is treatment if you diagnosed correctly . Yes, and if its the early phase and you catch it within the first 30 days and you take antibiotics, youre in good shape. If you didnt know you got bit and its longer than 30 days, you need to find someone with the late stage. Be vigilant, Early Detection like in most things is important. I mean f if you dont employ the people getting out of prison that were supposed to rehabilitate, they just go back to prison. So it didnt it happened organically. As i mentioned earlier, i needed employees and one guy said i can call the house and i didnt know the house was a halfway house. I was like okay. We need workers. We have a line at the door and nobody in the kitchen, and thats how it happened and thats how i met kevin grant and he was wonderful and came in and helped with the training and getting everybody together and just kept going. And so we hire anybody. You give felons an opportunity . A second chance. We dont hold that against you. If you are willing to work and bus tables, come on in. She was really easy to talk to, and she really thats i think thats what touched me the most. You know, she was very i believe in her now. I mean she made me feel like she really does care. It wasnt just political rhetoric that you hear all the time, and everyone is asking what was her stand or her policy. And it was really just listening to what we had to say. You could tell by her questions that that she was thoroughly engaged and wasnt just throwing out a few questions like whats happening here . Our government can make mistakes and say, look. We work for the government and we did this but you dont get to sue us. It might be tough against i. C. E. But the gun used in the killing, it came from an agents car. Lets get to the store we are about to do after this, auto burglaries in 41 Veronica Sanchez and home burglarys in San Francisco. So blm, land management, what do they have . They have an officer who puts his weston in the weapon in the car and someone breaks in the car. So are they going to lean on that, a jury and look will the jury just look at the facts or no, the jury will be instructed just to look at the facts of the case. So emotionally, a jury will probably give steinle something. The real trick here will be to get to the jury and the federal courts because there will be so many motions where the governments government immunity, you cant come after that. Dismiss this case and a judge is likely somewhere along the way to dismiss this case. If they get to the jury like i say, that will be a big win. Even against a former sheriff . Even against a former sheriff. He will say i did what i thought was right. Thats the law of the land. Right, so leave me alone. Otherwise, they will be afraid to make decisions. The judges are ought to be held accountable if they fail to hand out adequate punishment, so the mayor is saying they are responsible for the uptick in crime. What is the mayor doing saying this . Within the last few minutes marins sheriff ided the dead student as a 17yearold of san rafael, this as Police Confirm theyre looking into whether a Sexual Assault off campus was a possible factor. Two teens are in custody and a third is at large in this violent confrontation that has shattered the novato high community. The campus was closed friday for Staff Development but the community is struggling to make sense of the tragedy in a town unaccustomed to this kind of violence.
