Police chief told me people have to be outside of this building this morning. That you want to show them down the sidewalk on the other side, you can see this isnt a new problem. That Apartment Building down there that is fenced off, that was closed years ago and it is one example that people who live here are pointing to saying why should we have to leave this unit when that one was closed years ago and is Still Standing . There are a lot of upset residents here in pacifica concerned about where they are going to go. Living in an area where rent is ever on the increase, there is no one here who says they can afford to leave and find another place to go. Right now, there is a temporary shelters set up for these 20 Apartment Buildings. Its set up at the Community Center but obviously thats not a longterm solution. You have a lot of people wondering what is going to happen, feeling like they have been dumped on this afternoon and told they have to get out. The police chief told me they have been talking to these residents for the last several weeks to let them know theres a possibility this could happen because the cliff behind this apartment is so unstable. It is just basically the ocean claiming it bit by bit. I talked to a woman who lives down the street who hasnt affected directly but she was crying say its so sad to see my neighbors leaving one by one. Its starting to feel very different and very scary. You can certainly understand the residents being upset but it seems to dangerous to be there. Thanks, noel. In San Francisco and across the bay area, everyone is getting ready for super bowl l, less than two weeks away. Commuters in San Francisco are feeling the impact of hosting the big event. John sasaki joins us live. You had trouble finding parking . Thats exactly right. We had to put the truck right here. This space was really at a premium. We had a really hard time finding a spot to set up the didnt have a no parking sign on it or a tollways on. Of course, we got it set up in a spot where we can get our live shot out. Take a look over here, this is drum Street Market where right now normally this place is jammed with people coming down california. And then people coming southbound on drum. This is normally jammed but that spot is shut down entirely because this is the beginning of what is becoming super bowl city. This is an area bursting with excitement. People are happy to have the super bowl. They are happy they have a worldwide event going on but some people are frustrated because as i said, the parking is very difficult. The next couple weeks, its going to be very much a challenge and because of closures like this and add the old, davis bl beal and davis, thisll be a challenge because they are building for several thousand visitors in the next couple weeks surrounding the big game. This is an area we have been talking to people, we met some people at work and they said driving here, which is normally a challenge already, one gentleman says about 45 minutes to drive from home because he works weird hours. He says it took today about one hour 20 minutes and most of that time was getting the last mile and a half into the office. Theres a lot of frustration. We talked to folks at pjb on the other side of market and beal. They said they are going to allow employees to telecommute to avoid this. Has they say, on any given day, the population of San Francisco doubles with people who work here coming from east and south bay, north bay and so its really one of those areas that under normal circumstances is very stressed with all the people that come in and as you can imagine, its going to be that much worse with this excitement. I know its only one day but i cant believe i didnt see any bronco or panther has walking around. Let me just say i saw a guy operating one of these cable cars who was wearing of all things, a dodgers had. Thats not good. For many, super bowl activities are causing issues in their day to day lives but for some it could mean a whole lot of money. Not all folks are selling big ticket items outside Hyatt Regency and market street. The man who calls himself famous wayne is ready to take in the windfall in stride with restaurants, hotels, taxis and other small businesses, all expected to profit from the crowds of fans that will be here. For everything super bowl, we have information on the events, concerts, road closures and everything you need to know. Starting next week, we will broadcast live from the 402 in San Francisco. Its the game a lot of fans have been waiting for. In a few hours, the Golden State Warriors tipoff against the San Antonio Spurs. The two teams with the best record in the nba go toe to toe on the court at oracle. The sport structures here with what to expect. We have a homecourt winning streak on the line. This is the something has to give game because the spurs go in winning 13 straight in the warriors have the third longest winning streak in nba history. They have won 38 straight. Somethings got to give tonight. A big deal . Not a big deal . Tim duncan, the ageless warrior if i can say that has sore knees and he is an integral part of the spurs but i think this team has so much talent that they basically arent in a lot of trouble. I think they will still be good. I was thinking about this. Steve kurd played with a couple current San Antonio Spurs and duncan, parker, i was wondering if you thought at all its a little strange for steve kurd to be coaching on the sidelines, watching some of his former teammates still playing out there on the field . Thats right. Hell is a good stretch. Tv obviously doesnt work for everyone. While here he is leading the nba champs against them. A lot of people forget Gregg Popovich was an assistant coach with the warriors many years ago under don nelson and nowadays, he has such a machine role that i dont think it matters who they put in their from one game to the next. They have so much talent stacked up but i think this is the game everybody has been looking forward to and they keep saying know what he really minds because this is a regular season game. They have been marking this game on their calendars for a long time. So even if the warriors lose, its kind of a good time to play the spurs. But you will find something about your self as a team. And they will play each other three more times during regularseason and everybody has it marked on their calendars. It would seem like this is the nba western conference final. As we both know, injuries can occur in all kinds of things can happen. You cant count on that but what this is, is an opportunity for both teams to learn something about each other because they have not played its february basically. They havent even played each other and remember, steve kurd is his mentor. They want to show i have learned something from you but i can also one of you. Theres a lot of psychological aspects of this meeting that i think we are going to see the beginning of. That would be great because after cleveland, chicago and now playing the spurs team will be good. 38 straight wins. That streak is at stake. The spurs are having a phenomenal season. They havent lost at home either. I will have all the highlights at 10 00 that im heading out there now. Thank you both. Lets talk politics. Lets turn to the president ial race. Just one week to go before the iowa caucuses. Hillary clinton is in a dead heat with senator bernie sanders. Sanders has a onepoint lead over clinton in vermont. Thats all according to a new you. Gov poll. The third candidate to focus on national security. I think its actually good for the debate that we are having that there is so much interest and energy that i feel on my side and obviously sodas senator sanders on his. But the reason that our campaign is generating so much interest and enthusiasm is people think its time we take on the establishment, take on wall street. The republican candidates will face off thursday, also in des moines. Participants have to be in the top six in National Polls are top five in iowa or New Hampshire to make it to the main stage of the Fox News Channel debate. Today, a search is underway as family and friends look for the body of 28yearold kyle. After kyle derek. After coworkers told police he vanished from the work area. Police found evidence they say leads them to believe he was murdered. They arrested his coworker, steve lebo on saturday but are still looking for a body. Hopefully, we can cover it all today. And i will be here the whole day. There were a few other areas further inland we would like to search. I have mapped out a great. I have it on facebook and a lot of people are going to be helping. It will be good. Searchers say they believe he is dead but they also say they want to bring him home. Chal talked about his relationship with senator leland yee in the past and present for the next. I am not found guilty the way i look at it. Its not the evidence or witnessed that found me guilty, its my path. Amber joins us now onset to talk about her interview. I was curious watching it if this was an act but from your perspective, did you feel like he was sincere . He appeared to be very sincere because right off the bat, when he first walked into the room, he said to me asked me anything. And when i asked him questions, there was no hesitation. That was pretty impressive. Whether he is telling me the truth is hard to say but judging by his quick responses and telling me that right away, that makes it easier to interview him. Theres nothing he wouldnt answer. What was he like . We have seen so many pictures of him throughout the trial even before we heard stories about him. What was it like being in a very small room sitting across the table from raymond chow . He is very colorful. I have seen all the press coverage. I had never met him. Growing up in chinatown was a big part of my life. I knew a lot of people knew of him personally and i heard a lot of stories and wanted to find out for myself what he is like but i didnt go in with any expectations because if you dont know someone, you want to make sure you find out for your self. That was one reason i really wanted the interview. I wanted to hear from him and then present it to our viewers and let them decide because in a trial, most of us dont get to sit in a trial and get a sense of it. All you see is the press coverage and by hearing his voice, i think it makes a difference. Did you ask him more about luallin he . Leland e senator leland he yee. Was he cleancut to him . He said in his own words i thought he was a good guy because i ran into him doing outreach at the school. He said i worked on his Mayoral Campaign and said he didnt do anything illegal. I stood on street corners holding a sign for him when he was running for mayor asking people to vote for him because he thought leland was a good guy. He emphasized there was nothing illegal. If we wind had something to do with illegal activities, he said i knew nothing about it. What was it like when youre sitting there with him. We have heard he is charismatic. What was his response to the jury and the whole trial . Sometimes, juries will become attached or can relate to someone on the stand. What did he say about the trade process . He said he understood why the jury voted the way they did because they didnt get to see the real him. He says he was very limited in his responses. He was cut off and he couldnt talk about leland yee. He felt he wasnt given a fair shot during his trial. He is facing a life sentence. He is. I said how do you appear so upbeat when were facing life in prison . He said he is confident he will get out because the truth will set me free. He said not long. The confidence he has really carries through much of his life. I asked him how he deals with this and he said meditation. This wasnt a short interview. You spoke with him for more than an hour and you have more coming up at 5 00. 5 00 and 10 00. At 10 00, we will talk more about the fbi agents that he said came after him with a vengeance. Theres a 50,000 reward leading to their capture. Living around violence can affect a person in all areas of their life including performance in school. Thats a claim of five students and to teachers who have filed a lawsuit against Compton Unified School district according to a report by cnn which states students who are exposed to violent abuse or neglect should be classified as disabled and receive resources to help them in school. To talk more about this, doctor Isaiah Pickens who is a licensed clinical psychologist. Thank you for being with has. First off, have you ever heard of such a lawsuit and are you surprised by it . This is something really unprecedented in terms of looking at, as it visibility and im not surprised by it. As we have learned over the past couple decades, psychological trauma, Emotional Abuse are being neglected at home has tremendous impact on how the brain works, especially during early development. This is a natural progression of understanding how to Better Service students. Lets talk more about this complex trauma. How is that even defined . What is complex trauma and what kind of science . What kind of Brain Science to we have behind that . Thats a very important question. When we talk about trauma, we are talking about a life threatening event that makes someone feel their life or the life of someone they love is in danger. Thats genetic itself. Complex trauma happens when someone experiences more than one traumatic event. We see this happen in a lot of violent communities where there is Community Violence but they might also see abuse in the home, domestic violence. Its these compounding events that make the trouble that much more intensified. Another thing to be clear about is theres a difference between experiencing trauma and being traumatized. When someone experiences a trauma care , it can have an impact but the response can be different. We see resilience in sum, where if there is a caring and loving environment to help bring them back, they deal with have relatively healthy but if you are in an environment that doesnt provide the support you need to get beyond this and you always feel you are in danger, that puts your brain and body on high alert which can interfere with all types of activities including school. Specifically, the article i read, one of the teenagers described a scene of someone being shot in the head. He was five or six when this happened but he is a teenager now. You can imagine the impact that had. He didnt even tell an adult, his mom, what happened. Do you think this lawsuit has any legs . In the end, the people filing this lawsuit want to be given some sort of disability so they can have different resources and be taught differently. I think thats an important question. We will find out as this unfolds whether it has the strength behind it to actually get the win that the people who are filing this claim are searching for but i think one of the key issues here is when someone experiences trauma, especially early in life, it does create deficits that require additional resources. Whether the resources come through this lawsuit or through the School System being proactive to provide the support in terms of identifying what set someone off when they become triggered because every because they are reminded of their trauma or when people feel unsafe. Some of the aspects of the article you read talked about the young people feeling they were unsafe in certain environments and they would get very aggressive or withdraw completely. When you are responding to the world in a way that everything seems threatening, it makes it very difficult to focus on school were build healthy relationships with teachers were other people in your life. I think whether this lawsuit pans out in favor of the plaintiffs or the School System, i think the key is there is Resources Available needed for these kids if they experienced trauma early in their lives. The conversation is happening as well. Thank you doctor pickens. I outside for about 20 minutes today and it felt like spring. I stepped outside for about 20 minutes today and it felt like spring.
