Tara moriarty is live in Castro Valley where the wild chase started. Reporter it all happened while a toddler was in the backseat of the car. Now three people will face felony charges for robbing a Safeway Store here in Castro Valley attacking two Security Officers on their way out and leading authorities on a high speed chase. Speeds reaching up to 100 miles an hour. 22 Katrina Freeman and 37year old tiffany will appear in courtroom sometime today. Sheriffs deputies eventually found the suspects hold up in a home in oakland as well as the 2yearold that they didnt realize was in the getaway car. When deputies pulled the suv over, the childs mother jumped out and the suv peeled off. That is when herman told officers that her child was still in the car. The suv was hidden in the backyard and inside Officials Say they found items stolen from the Safeway Store including diapers and baby products. Two Security Officers suffered minor injuries. Governor jerry brown uc president Janet Napolitano says she will back off the proposed tuition hike if the governor s to increase funding to uc schools by 100 million by next year. If you wont represent us, we will get rid of you. Raise tuition and we will raise hell. Students have been protesting the tuition hike proposal on the uc campuses. This is video of a demonstration yesterday at uc davis. There was a similar protest at uc berkeley. Students at uc san diego protested the proposed tuition increase as well with a mass sit in. The man accused of the hit and run death of a 14yearold boy is due back in court this morning to enter a plea. 34yearold Sunny Anderson is facing murder charges in the death of ivan cruz. Cruz was crossing the street when he was hit. Police say anderson was fleeing sheriffs deputies at the time. The impact was so hard that cruz was thrown about 20 feet. After the car was traced back to him, anderson was found hiding in a friends garage and arrested last week. We are learning more about andersons criminal past including a conviction on elder abuse. Spoke with a victim who is now 80 years old. Eric rasmussen has more on her terrifying experience and why she says justice has not been served. Reporter this 80yearold woman asked us not to identify her but she described a terrifying confrontation with Sunny Anderson. He was in a disguise and he looked just like the joker. Reporter when he broke into her house in the middle of the night. He came in and made a motion like this. Tried to kill me by pressing on my throat. And then he did it and the next time he pressed harder. He did it about three times. Each time was harder than the other. Reporter did you think you were going to die . Yeah. I went down to my knees and i knew this was it. Reporter anderson was charged with attempted murder. But prosecutors dropped that charge for lack of sufficient evidence. Anderson pled to elder abuse. Why didnt he just take my money and go . Its like he made a point if im going to go in there, im going to hurt somebody. Reporter 2 investigates found found a long list of a dozen cases filed against anderson in the next two years. Anderson stabbed a man but beat that case due to insufficient evidence. He was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs and fighting a deputy. In 1999, investigators say anderson broke into the triple pines ranch petting zoo and stabbed several animals. Now accused of hitting and killing 14yearold ivan cruz while fleeing deputies again. This woman says justice for anderson hasnt been fully served. I just cant understand why in the world hes been allowed to be out there. Hes not a good person. Also this morning a church in san jose will hold its First Service since being badly damaged in a fast moving fire. Flames raced through the nearly 95yearold Holy Cross Catholic Church Sunday afternoon. Firefighters are still monitoring the building. It is still in danger of collapsing. This morning 7 30 service is being held in a Fellowship Hall that is behind the church. Members of the congregation will be salvaging anything they can including painting statues and books from the back of the church. The conservatory of music in San Francisco is circulating a surveillance photo of a man accused of stealing two guitars worth thousands of dollars. And today a petition drive to stop a recently approved pay raise for contra costa supervisors gets under way. Last month they voted to give themselves a 33 pay hike. Boosting their annual salary to 129,000 a year. That did not go over well with county employees who got raises of just 4 of contract negotiations with the board earlier this year. Fremont Police Hope Surveillance Video will help them track down the thieves who stole hundreds of gallons of diesel from a gas station. It happened at the va lair row station early friday morning. The station has 16 surveillance cameras that caught two suspicious vehicles driving around the pump while the station was closed. No camera shows exactly what the drivers were doing but the owner is certain they were siphoning the fuel. Usually they steal it from the pumps so we did everything we could to really be able to stop them. Now they steal from the tanks and nothing i can do about that. The owner says the thieves made off with more than 750 gallons of diesel fuel. He is offering a 5,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. Its not gas but tires that are the target of bold thieves in piedmont. The thieves stole tires and wheels right off their cars parked on the street. Police say this ceil can be possible. Republicans say they will put another vote on the keystone xl pipeline at the top of their agenda when they take over both houses in january. That is after they fell one vote short of the approval. It likes like the oakland zoo will move forward with the big expansion plan. According to the east bay express. The Oakland City Council finally voted on the project after midnight. It passed by a vote of 62. They will open the zoo to more competitors. Opponents say it takes away from open space. Zoo officials started that planning process back in 1998. The city of san jose is moving ahead with a controversial new fee that will provide Affordable Housing. They improved the Housing Impact fee by a 73 vote. Developers will have to pay the city 17 per square foot on new rental development. It will be used to build more Affordable Housing in the facility. But opponents say it will only increase cost and that will have to be passed along to renters. It will drive the price of rental housing up now. So this is a huge day for people that cant afford to live here. Developers would be exempt for five years. The average rent for a one bedroom apartment has gone up 49 since 2010.
