It started early yesterday afternoon near the intersection of mission and 22nd streets. Ktvu alex savidge is live with the big concern for firefighters this morning. Alex. Reporter San Francisco firefighters have been out here on scene throughout the night spraying water into this burned out building that is across the street from here in the mission district. You can see the charred debris. All the charred items pulled from this building. This huge fire is still smoldering way inside the building and it has flaired up a few times over the past few hours. It first started yesterday afternoon just around 1 00 at this store that is on Mission Street between 22nd and 23rd street. More than 100 firefighters were called in from across the city to help contain the fire and they were able to keep it confined to just the the one building. Even with strong winds yesterday. The place that burned is called the big House Incorporated retail store. And crews say it was packed with clothing, luggage, toys, and other items. When all of that if merchandise burned, it put off toxic smoke in the air. A short time ago battalion chief talked about what made this fire hard to fight. All the dark smoke, the oil based fuel. And it was just a lot of fire in there because the amount of merchandise they had in there. Reporter at this point there is no obvious cause for this fire but an arson investigator will be back out here continuing to gather evidence and get a look inside the place to figure out how this huge fire got started. As we bring you back out here to a live picture, another big worry for firefighters is this building could easily collapse. That is why crews have been staying a big distance back. Police continue to look for a man they believe is connected to a series of attacks to joggers in fairfield. This is a sketch of what that man may look like. The incident happened wednesday night. Police say the girl was able to fight back and got away. There were two other similar attacks that were reported at the beginning of august in fairfield. Both involve female joggers. One was just 16 years old. Anyone with information is asked to call fairfield police. A man suspected of trying to kidnap a teenager in richmond was arrested after someone recognized his photos on ktvu news. They took 30yearold joshua man into custody. Late last month a girl says man tried to grab her. Petaluma schools are on alert after police are look for a suspicious man that followed a 13yearold girl home yesterday. She was forced to run away from a man that repeatedly ask her to get inside her car. They describe the man as dark skinned possibly hispanic or east indian. He is in mid 30s.
