Happening right now, the big debut of levi stadium and the San Jose Earthquakes are about to take on the Seattle Sounders at 7 30 tonight and thousands of people are making their way to santa clara. Not for the 49ers game, but for a soccer match. I want to give you a look at traffic. Taken a couple minutes ago and as you can see, cars backed up just a bit right at the entrance to that stadium. Awful lot of people. Also lined up there outside the gates. And as we count down to game time, we are getting a better idea what to expect during future events. Christina is live at levi stadium now with a look at how traffic and security are shaping up. Christina. This is the day that the city, fans, and teams have been waiting for. The first game here at levi stadium, this is a look at some of the fans coming through the security screeners right now as they head through the stadium. Today is a learning curve. The detour signs are up. Levi stadium is being put to the test. I think its amazing. I cant wait to go to a game. After months of planning for the first sporting event, this is the first practice on the flow of crowds and traffic. San Jose Earthquakes say matt and his family from fremont came as early as 1 00 this afternoon. We knew we would be waiting. We want to wait in front and sit in the back. With this stadium right next to the great america, congestion was inevitable for fans and guests of the park. There is so much traffic. It took for ever to get off the freeway. Lots of signs telling us where to park and a certain lot number. That was pretty good. Brought in extra trains and buses to carry the load of passengers. We had our plans set for awhile. Today is the test and we think were going to pass. Security brought in extra help, too. Theres about 2,000 guards in addition to many offduty officers, chp troopers, police, and county sheriff deputies. Help that we learn a lot today because in two week, well have the niners playing and we better have it together by then. The earthquakes are playing, many 49ers fans showed up in their gear ready to see their new home. We are thrilled this is our new stadium and it is close to home and glad to have the 49ers here and this is great stuff. And this is a live look at all of the cars trying to get into the parking lot so they can get here before the game. There are thousands of people here, but this soccer game was capped off for tickets, but in two weeks, they expect a full house when the 49ers take on the Denver Broncos in their first preseason game. That is on september excuse me, that is on august 17 and in the first regular home season game will be against the chicago bears. That is on september 17. A friday night lights double header is set for august 29. Thats when manteka high, out of sacramento, will kick off against concords power house. Police are trying to figure out who left a badly injured woman wrapped in a blanket at a playground. The woman was found at about 6 30 this morning at Hillcrest Park in grant street. Police say the woman was left at a playground inside the park. Now the video that youre looking at was taken this afternoon after police there finished processing the scene. Police tell us the victim is in her 40s and may have been the victim of a sexual assault. She was taken to the hospital, but the extent of her injuries is not known. A 13yearold girl is recovering from a gun shot wound after a violent night in oakland. The girl was buying candy in the huntsberry market on foothill boulevard around 10 40 last night. The boy told police he immediately ducked after hearing gun shots and when he heard more gunfire, his sister said, ive been shot. She was taken to oaklands Childrens Hospital with a gun shot wound to the shoulder. Two other shootings in oakland last night left one man dead and another critically wounded. Police have not made any arrests. In san jose, homicide investigators are searching for clues in a deadly overnight shooting. It happened about 1 30 this morning in a 7eleven parking lot on monterey road. The victim died at the scene. Officers say Surveillance Footage shows the victim had a brief exchange with some people inside a car before one of them got out and opened fire. This was san joses third homicide in five days and the 23rd this year. Police in hollister are looking for a homicide suspect who may be holding a 20year old woman against her will. Police are looking for this man, 20yearold, jose barajas in connection with a deadly shooting. The victims name has not been released. 20yearold, Vanessa Flores may be with barajas. Police released these pictures showing the distinctive tattoos of skulls. He was last seen in the late model silver or gray colored kia suv. The first known ebola patient on u. S. Soil is now in an atlanta hospital after being flown from west africa. After landing at the air force base, an ambulance with a Police Escort you see there wisps him to Emery University hospital. As martha shade reports, officials went to extraordinary lengths to keep the deadly virus contained. Really dreadful. I mean, its an outbreak that is really out of control. He arrived at the air reserve base near atlanta saturday, bound for Emery University medical facility for treatment. Nancy, the second american infected is expected to be returned to the u. S. Early next week. The two had been working in liberia trying to help other victims. We need to protect these workers. This Ebola Outbreak has been called out of control and unprecedented. So far, the outbreak has infected more than 1300 people and killed more than 700. Causing concern for many in the u. S. , which has never before had a human case of the virus. Health officials have addressed that concern saying theres little risk to americans. Ebola is not an airborne or water born illness. It spreads through contact with organs and bodily fluid. The containment capabilities are safe. With the proper protective equipment and isolating patients, theres essentially no risk of the kinds of outbreaks we are seeing in western africa. Im martha shade reporting. Several wild fires are burning in Northern California forcing more than 100 people out of their homes. One of them just two hours outside of redding has burned more than 12,500 acres. The fire near the town of day is threatening 150 buildings. So far, its only 15 contained. Firefighters say strong winds and thunderstorms in the forecast could complicate efforts to fight that fire. Another major fire is burning in Shasta County and the forest. Today, cal fire crews were spraying water on the fires. Cal fire says the fire has exploded to 7,000 acres since it started back on thursday, it is spreading quickly. Theres no containment on this fire. The fire forced the evacuation of campers as well as people who live in that remote area and closed highway 89. The red circles want to show you now on this map. The temporary faa flight restrictions over those Northern California wild fires. Smoke from the wild fires can pose a danger to aircraft and planes in the area could interfere with air tankers and other aircraft fighting those fires from above. Palo alto police are looking for a man who exposed himself at a playground. According to the police, the partially naked man walked through the playground on Stockton Place yesterday afternoon. A witness said he did not try to contact any children. Police say this still image shows the man walking away afterward. He is described as an African American about 45 years old, 6 feet, 170pounds with a thin build. Investigators are studying Surveillance Video that shows one of the two muni crashes that happened yesterday. A camera outside a nearby auto shot caught one of accidents. A big rig was beginning to make a left turn there and right into the path of an on coming light rail vehicle. It happened at about 1 35 yesterday afternoon. On the third street and in this avenue in the bay view district. 11 were sent to hospitals. A few minutes earlier, leguna, a muni bus rear ended a dump truck. An investigation shows that the muni driver was try 20 people were hurt in that crash, too. 12 were taken to hospitals. One of whom suffered life threatening injuries. People who plan to take bart to sfo this weekend should be aware of potential delays. Bart says crews are doing platform and track maintenance at the daily city station today and tomorrow. Trains will be single tracking between balboa and koleman stations. And only go as far as 24th street and San Francisco. Those passengers will have to transfer to a pittsburgh bay point train to get further south, which bart says could cause 20 to 25 minute delays. Next week, people driving along interstate 80 will see new smart highway signs going up. Now caltrans says the first sign will be installed in richmond on tuesday. It will display lane closure information and even some speed limit changes. The aim is to improve the flow of traffic along one of the worst commutes in the bay area. The signs are part of an 80 million smart corridor project. South San Francisco police say someone is claiming to be a microsoft employee and tried to get personal information from a woman on the phone. Investigators say a man has called hums mike johnson, called the woman last week and he said her computer had been compromised by a hacker and that he needed to access her computer and other information. The victim did not give any information to the man, microsoft says it does not contact customers by phone. Thousands came to downtown oakland today to enjoy the art and soul festival. Fletcher was driving his motorcycle home when someone hit him with their car in a horrific road rage incident. Fletcher was paralyzed from the waist down. The suspect is facing numerous criminal charges, including attempted murder. We all learned a life lesson from it. The Isreali Defense force released video of troops blowing up one of many tunnels it says are being used by hamas militants. Prime minister says once the tunnels are demolished, all military options remain on the table. Hamas mistakenly believes that the people of israel do not have the will and determination to fight them. And hamas again will learn the hard way. That israel will do whatever it must do to protect its people. Casualties are growing on both sides. Late today, an isreali soldier was declared dead. Israel will work to bring his body home. Since the fighting began, more than 1600 palestinians and 60 isrealis have been killed. Many people in the bay area are expressing strong feelings about the on going war in gaza with at least five major protests in San Francisco alone. Within the hour, people in concord will hold a candle slight vigil. It starts at 7 00 at soto santos plaza. In turkey, people ran for cover when a rare tornado hit in the city of istanbul. This amateur video shows the tornado over the water heading right for the city. The weather system also brought thunder and flash flooding. That made some roads impassable. As we get into tonight, the clouds will be returning. Tomorrow morning we wake up to low clouds, added cooling expected for the afternoon, especially for inland communities. Along the coast and around the bay, i think were where were going to remain. Subtle changes in the forecast. I do see high clouds coming back our way as that moisture works its way back into central california. Take a look. We get going into the evening hours. The low clouds are moving back, but notice whats coming in from the east and the south. Weve got those clouds moving back in, so we could wake up mid and high level clouds overhead once again. As we get into the afternoon, they do seem to clear out. We have low clouds at the coast, but notice whats happening over the sierra, thunderstorms a possibility once again with summer in store. If you are planning on heading that direction, you may have that possibility sunday through tuesday.
