Drive on the bridge is not an original idea. Lets move on to the san mateo bridge. I have a look at interstate 880 getting down to the san mateo bridge. And it looks good. And if you are driving in livermore this morning, traffic looks good on 580 over to Castro Valley and 238. And then we will look at 880 southbound that traffic does look good. Lets go back to the desk. Thank you, sal. We begin with breaking news in martinez. We just received dramatic video of a large fire. It looks like a car lot. Claudine wong arrived on scene just moments ago to tell us what is going on. Boy, we can see the flames behind you claudine. Reporter yes, its still an active scene. We are on peach tree boulevard. You can see there is still active fire. Lots of fire crews on the scene. Let me explain why you dont see them fighting the fire. Out in front of the build you can see the power pole that is right next to the cars. Those are still active lines. They have lines down across the building and the structure. So firefighters are staying back right now because they obviously cant get in there to get to that fire without endangering themselves. They are still waiting for pg e electric crews to get on scene so they can turn off the power. Gas crews are here but until the power lines are shut down, they are basically attacking it from the back end of this building. Let me show you what it looked like earlier when the flames were really going. We got this video sent in by a viewer. This was called in at 3 15 this morning. Passer byes saw the huge flames. Called in. Fire was going from one end of the building to another. They did what they could do get the water on it. Again live power lines making it difficult to fight the fire. Let me explain the building. This is a used car lot that you are looking at. The building in front of you in the front part of it there is an office. In the back there is a living space. This was somebodys home. Two people actually live back there. There are reports that those two people got out safely. Although they have not made contact with them. Firefighters havent had a chance to talk to them. So certainly they want to be sure that no one is back there. Again, they cannot go back there until the power is turned off. So at this point, what we are doing, is just keeping a very close eye on the situation, waiting for pg e crews to arrive and watching the fire very carefully. Because yes, it does continue to burn. Claudine wong ktvu channel 2 news. Also happening right now a crash into a fire hydrant in san jose is causing quite a mess. Janine de la vega is there on the scene with new information this morning. Janine. Reporter yes. This accident happened right in front of carroll Elementary School. As you can see behind me here, you can see a car transporter was one of the vehicles involved. And you can see the damage right there and the debris on the ground. It apparently collided with another car that is on top of that tow truck. That car hit a water main. And it also appears that police think that people in the other car may have run away. The accident happened at 3 00 this morning and the car transporter and Lincoln Town Car were traveling southbound on pearl avenue when the lincoln hit the car transporter. Crashed into the water main at the Elementary School. It caused the water to gush into the street but the main was shut off by the fire department. The driver of the car transporter thought there was three people in that car and police ended up finding one of those people a man in the bushes and he appeared to have been injured. He was just taken away by the fire department. There was another person that was taken away. Its unclear if there is a third person that police might be looking for. At this point, police are still trying to figure out if this was a hit and run situation or not. They have pearl avenue here southbound near clarkson closed off for just about a block area. But we will try top find out more information to see if an actual crime here occurred. Reporting live from san jose janine de la vega ktvu channel 2 news.
