Visit their website or welcome back to the blend, achieving that perfect smile is possible with the right dentist. Dr. Joel stokes, joins us. Good morning. A lot of people theyre looking for a dentist, they want someone they can trust, someone thats been in the business, can you tell us of your background . I graduated from dental school in san francisco, in 19 and something. And practiced in california for ten years, the early 80s, my wife and i decided to move our family to las vegas. Weve been here ever since. Ive raised my family here, i have a son thats in his 40s, and my daughter, and youngest son jesse is in Nursing School in california. Running a high grade point average. We raised our family here, las vegas has streeted us very well treated us very well. The way we run our practice is i want to make sure that what we do, benefits the people that have been so kind to us. Absolutely, you have a philosophy of painless dentistry. Some get worried walking into a dentist. How do you impart this on your patients, to know youre in good hands. One thing, we cannot programs painless. We know from a the way the go together. The fiber tracks in the brain, they run together. In our practice, our goal is to help reduce the stress response in a patiently, if we can do that, everything when they calm down, everything is more comfortable. That goes with our basic operating philosophy. When someone calls our office, ask for the forms or fill out the papers. The first initial visit is a 20 to 30 minute visit, to see if were compatible. During that visit, a Comfort Level develops, the stress levels go down, because the trust level goes up. Its not where you come in, they rush you through and out. This is a more personal, person to person, one on one, experience. And even if someone comes in and they have a spouse, the spouse comes with them. Its more of a family thing and the communication is complete. So people are making a decisions, it doesnt go back and forth from spouse to spouse and communication is lost, this way, everything is on the table. Everyone is informed. Its written all over your office too, tell us of your philosophy. Time the office philosophy is in a big poster on the front. And its back of my business cards. And it goes like this p i understand my job to be as follows, to raise the probability as high as possible, that youll spend the smallest percentage of the rest of your life in a dental chair. After we work to help you achieve the same level of dental health, that i would provide to my own immediate family. Thats the best benchmark that can promise to someone. We have some example of your work to show. Okay. Lets take a look. We do a lot of cosmetic dentistry. I have dentists that come in to the office and we teach them how to do these procedures. That does dental implants. He lectured in moscow, and we do a team approach. The cosmetic part is icing on the cake. The ads, and everything, but the most important thing, for us to continue with our philosophy to, keep people out of the dental chairs is to make sure that theyre healthy first. Thats the cake, and then you put the icing on the cake. We also understand that dental health is related to general health. What happens in our mouth is transmitted through the blood stream to other parts of your body. And to your brain. We know that. Studies show that. And our job is to help people stay healthy, out of the dentist chair. And then if someone wants the move on to veneers, and we do great work with that too. Its great having you, well offer. Its a great pleasure to see you too. Dr. Spokes is offering a 299 value in office, teeth whitening to the first five callers. Call the number on your screen for that special. Eastern canyon dental is to learn more, rugby is used to bridge together countries through education. The u. S. A. Sevens rugby adoptacountry program. Lets talk about it, here to explain with his involvement is chris leffler. Hes a teacher, and the vp of business development, and rob cornelius. How are you . Good morning. Lets talk about this, u. S. A. Sevens rugby adoptacountry program. Its a program we created six years ago, a local company, how do we embrace our students and the biggest thing with the global event like this is how to stimulate our kids and get them involved. With something global, is how to get a sport and Global Recognition of countries. To study the country and the culture, and what the sport is around the world. Its been six years, its been great, weve had over 30,000 kids in the program. Its been amazing, and we grabbed a great title sponsor, and this thing we started six years ago with chris is one of the big supporters, and is a global thing for us. Chris said, just got back from kenya three days ago. Hows the jet lag . Still working at it. One of the flights was 18 hours, and ive never been on a plane for more than four or five in the united states. The fact is, its been to be a part of this program. Because of the difference it makes to children. Using the sport as a delivery, to talk about the culture and to talk about the life skills, unlike other sports, and those that have played other sports, can relate to the honor and respect that plays with the culture. When you teach children about that and they embrace it, it inspires them to play the sport the way its supposed to be played and to carry that in their lives. Its so cool to hear that you go to kenya, rather than skyping in. Tell us about the Sister School in kenya that youve adopted . That sai girl school, and despite the challenges, they call it the but once theyre in that school and doing its well, you can see they really do embrace, the values, the faith, everything that works there. And its making a difference. These girls, they have their hopes and dreams like our children, of becoming business leaders, and having their own business or whatever else. And they know they can do it through education. And last year, we started to pair up with the sports, the values that are in there, related perfectly to the values they had at their schools. It was a natural fit and go figure, once the whole school embraced it, and we had all the girls learning of the sport and culture of rugby, moving forward, we took them to tournament, and when we do, theyre the ones that win. Its not about winning, but what you quickly realize is theyve got the basis. They have that faith, they have system thats built at that school. Thats not necessarily you find in all t schools there. Heres the one thing, i knew that nuns rolled hard i had that same upbringing too. They love rugby. I have to g mary, she said, i really rant to learn the sport, i see what a difference its making to the girls and she would show up, outside the classroom, to get the training necessary to be a coh. When i left, it was her and another teacher there, that are now also Rugby Development coaches. Its great, something to be proud of, but i inspires and empowers their involvement. When we step out, and were no longer there, to support it, they can run it by themselves. This is a great way to tie in and to america, this is a support thats growing in popularity. Were on the precipice, is that the right word . Waking the sleeping giant. Theres a video on that, that talks about rugby growing in america, whats going to happen we as a country now that its in the olympics, and this year, 2016, people see, the sport of rugby, and how you can really get behind it, because of the values that are in the sport, how the players play hard and when theyre done, they shake hands and mean it. Theres i dont want to disrespect other sports the bologne. Thank you. Lets talk about this event, u. S. A. Sevens rugby, International Get together, 30 seconds. We have 16 countries from the are coming in, our kids will meet the athletes and were going to brazil, were looking great. We should have ,000 fans over the weekend, we have a beer, win, festival, costumes, sports, entertainment, its an amazing weekend for your friends and family, everybody. If you havent been, im challenging you to go and find a better event in this city. It brings out a different culture and its passionate, and hey, lets watch the u. S. A. Team get ready for the olympics. That would be amazing. Im ready for that. Looking forward to it. Thank you very much. The u. S. A. Do you have a plan in place for your assets in the event you pass away . Joining us now to explain, nick strobelt, and eric nimmer from ashton strobelt. Good morning to both of you, and welcome. Thanks for having us. Why is Estate Planning so important . Thats a really good question, and many dont know why its so important. One of the reasons it is, we dont know the future, of course, and if you imagine for a second, that something happens to us, and we fail to answer important questions, we can make the lives of though that we care about much more difficult in a time of grief. Avoid at all costs. Thats why having an estate plan is vital, and formalizing the decisions early into a proper estate plan is the way to avoid that situation. And if you think of what an estate plan is, its a collection of legal documents that help to decide where the assets and the money would go if something happens to you. Eric, if were trying to figure that out, whats the first step to take . The first step is deciding that youll take the action and go out and do it. Its like the honey do list, can you get to this, yeah, ill do it tomorrow, and tomorrow comes around, and i say, ill do it tomorrow. But Estate Planning falls under that umbrella, a 40 or 50yearold, they say, i dont think i need that yet, ill do it when im 60 or 65. Im 70, but making the decision to take the action and do it today and get your Estate Planning in order is the first step. And finding someone that you trust. We work closely with clear council locally, and we know that theyll take good care of our clients. Theyre doing the documents, but were here to help and be a part of that, so the clients needs are taken care of. When it comes to planning for your estate, most think its for the rich and the wealthy, is that the case . Not at all. Thats a big misconception thats out there. You need to have lots of wealth or assets. Its worth it to find an estate plan of any sort. But i dont know of anyone who doesnt need some type of Estate Planning done for them. For example, the power attorney documents, what that does, is if youre the financial and medical decisions for you in your behalf. That document helps to decide and another situation is, if you have kids that are minors, under 18, if something happens to you, who would you want to take care of your kids, in that situation. And both scenarios are not contingent on your level of wealth. Everyone needs at least some type of Estate Planning for their plan. If you have assets in your home, equity in your house, or other broker adoptacountries, then you might need additional Estate Planning done. Like a living trust is a place to put funds and that way, your estate can help avoid the probate process and the courts to make the loved ones lives much better. I have a friend whose father stuck in probate over a year. Its so expensive, for you to have a plan and estate plan and give it to the heirs you want to, is so much easier. The attorney, the probate process is much more expensive than being proactive and doing the Estate Planning work. And youre saving a lot of headaches. Eric, is it common for Financial Planners and advisors such as yourself to help with the Estate Planning . Thats a question of whats common and actually taking place. I dont think it happens enough. The Financial Planner is a part of that process, it should be in every scenario that they take part in that planning. Its not that theyre drawing up the documents, but theyre there to help make sure that everything is in order to, make sure that everything blends together as a plan and its not one piece to a puzzle, and its interesting, in Estate Planning attorney, they build something called a re living trust. Its like a box, and anything you put in there, avoid it is probate. But often what happens is the process of the Estate Planning attorney, often ends there, and nothing of the assets are put inside of that box. The Financial Planner, the finance guy, comes in and helps put the assets inside the box to complete the process. And thats called funding the trust. Thats why its so important to make sure that the accounts are set up in the proper way. Not the Financial Planner side great advice, thank you very much. Absolutely.
