A. A a. A. A a. Period. Right as a big chunk of cream great power trio back in the sixty's and featuring Ginger Baker on all those tracks playing drums in an in tribute to him who passed away last Sunday at the age of 80 years of age and so what you heard there was what a bring down a tune that Ginger Baker actually wrote and that's from the goodbye LP The very last cream record their 4th album from 1900 $69.00 and then we had cream do in white room it's ginger on drums of course we're also a fire from $68.00 Eric Clapton guitar Jack Bruce focal Xin bass and then we had cream doing Sunshine of Your Love from The Disraeli gears record from 67 their 2nd LP. And Ginger on drums and what else and I think Eric Clapton It was only get tar and vocals on that one and Jack Bruce as well cream doing tales of Brave Ulysses also from just really gears and we had cream doing I feel free from their debut record called fresh cream in 1966 and then we started with cream no no we started with. Well we did start with a cream tune called from fresh cream that was the. 5 minutes and 9 seconds in 1989 it was going to be you know kind of enjoyed that and then we started with the Graham Bon organization which featured Ginger Baker on drums who along with Jack Bruce playing bass was in Graham's band 1st 2 albums the sound of 65 and forgot the 2nd one but you heard Spanish blues which featured gingers very. From mean all right it's going to continue here was this Ginger Baker tribute because he was and some other things besides Kramer I mean that was the the big big period for the for them for him but blind faith was a one off record that was kind of consider supergroup featuring Stevie Wonder would have traffic Clapton from cream of course and Rick Gretsch from the group family and. They did one album in 1969 called Blind Faith and again Ginger had a huge heroin problem so he was in off and on doing heroin almost throughout his life and so of course Eric was doing heroin as well as I believe Stevie so you know it was disaster I think they did one tour but they did one pretty great record so here's one that kind of features some Ginger Baker drumming called had to cry today written by Stevie Wonder who's going to do the lead vocal and Eric Clapton is going to do the guitar work on that and then I'm going to play something from his ginger Baker's Air Force which he formed in 1970 and had some heavyweights on that one too Denny Laine from the Moody Blues Kris Wood from traffic Rick Gretsch from blind faith who hosts it Grandpa Harold McNair Stevie Winwood all kinds of great folks in this record so it's kind of almost a big band jazz kana thing in a way you know improv kind of thing so I'm going to play something called da da man from the Air Force debut record and it was written by Harold McNair who happens to be a tenor and flute player and of course it will feature Ginger Baker on drums and then I got one last one after that he did an album with faily ransom Kuti the Nigerian world beats the founder and the Africa 70 band which has failed his backing band with Tony Allen on drums but this also featured Ginger Baker some going to play the track that features Ginger Baker not Tony Allen which is called Let's start and this came out in 1971 I think or snow in 1980. So play those 3 battle do it for the ginger bake tribute So we'll start off here with some blind faith and had to cry. On the line across the room. Or the. Favorites. On Monday evening from 6 to 8. Point 7 f.m. And then of course the would say yes org. We're going to play for you. Tonight it's going to but for 2 years and the 1st film score. You have. To combat it. Which means. Let's walk into the room. Shoes. Yeah let's give it up for failure and the Africa 70 band and that's. Called live. With Ginger Baker cat and that's Ginger Baker on that track you can really tell his syncopated jazz style of drumming there in course failer Kuti the sort of father of night Afro beats from Nigeria doing the. Vocals and the choke on my saliva and that's yeah that was called Let's start and then before that you heard Ginger Baker's Air Force which kind of was the forerunner of what he would do in Africa he actually moved there built a studio in La goes back in the seventy's took them years to build all kinds of you know problems money things like that but he did record that album that you just heard there in his studio and so Ginger Baker's Air Force was sort of the lead into that it was a very big band improvisational you know jazz and stuff and so you heard Dada man that's from his very 1st one called Air Force 1970 and blind faith started that set with had to cry today from their one and only LP called blind faith from 1969 ginger on drums Stevie Winwood on vocals Eric Clapton on Lee guitar and that's my tribute to the late Ginger Baker passed away at 80 years of age last Sunday. Up up you know if you stick around for the world's music show the world's music without boundaries show I'll be doing that in about 15 minutes or so I'm going to play some more of the fairly Kuti and Africa 70 on that show so I feel like that oh stay tune so I see bro man Kurt is on the chat room there from Minnesota listening online and sent me an email wanting to hear Led Zeppelin's 10 years gone from the Physical Graffiti record. I'm going to play that one for him and we'll see how much time I have left after that. Then again it will be. It For 3 hours at space focusing on the communities that I love and support. You know 2 things that make you I know it's scary to go places on your own but sometimes you need to try to get involved. With getting involved. Ok I had to play that because I didn't have anything cued up after the Led Zeppelin tune it was just listening to snap crackle and pop there as Dave said at the end of the things I just threw on the as a promo there so I see I have a short amount of time here before I get into the world's music without boundaries show here on case b c Claremont 88.7 f.m. I'm going to play one more Ginger Baker related thing here is this is when he was still in cream and from the 2nd LP called Israeli cures he wrote a tune called Blue condition and he also sings it because I was playing drums on it and ginger didn't have a really great voice but I guess. I guess I guess maybe beat up Eric Clapton Jack Bruce to get that song on there are some of them but I'm going to play the Blue condition from that album and if you've seen the documentary on Junior Baker call Be ware of Ginger Baker It's really it's really crazy I mean I can't tell you to see it I'll just tell you that I liked it a lot it's very disturbing and so as the credits roll the song Blue condition is playing over the credits so I thought I'd end the show with that and then I'll see in a bit All right so here's Ginger Baker singing and playing drums on his own tune. a you are listening to Take Me silliest smartest radio station on this planet k s p c 88.7 f.m.
