And these guys and ladies have it down to a science having done it for so many years. It does take them a long time to get it done. It is warmer than usual at this time of year in new york city so people are a little slower when it comes to sleeving. 178 sanitation worker also use 26 mechanical sweepers, 25 collection trucks, 38 blowers and 40 hand brooms to tidy up times square. Last year crews with the City Department of transportation collected more than 48 tons of debris. We are at the harmon exit here there are no more people here crowding the street, which was barricaded off. The cars off the street and people hanging out in the street. Of course, everybody was up to the sidewalks after the fireworks were over and that was because the massive cleanup needed to begin. Trash trucks were the first to pick up garbage cans and leaf blowers got the trash in the piles. And the Nebraska Department of transportation helped out with street sweepers brought in to give the las vegas boulevard a good scrubbing. The cost of all this is estimated at about 150,000. I want to come back here live and you can see some of the trash. Some of the trash still here to be picked up. Normally las vegas boulevard is quite spiffy, but some of what lingers this morning and what they are still cleaning. The cars are moving down the boulevard, but a lot of the rails that we use to separate people from the cars, those still have to be picked up and they are doing that work as they move down the road here. So it is something that it will happen. If you were wondering a little fox i had to here, how much trash was collected by weight. It is estimated that 30,000 pounds of new years eve garbage has been and is being scooped up from the Las Vegas Strip from last night. Thats a lot. A lot of fun to be had as a result i am sure too. It did have nothing to do with the new years eve celebration but it did happen on new years eve. Jeff witnesses say the car was speeding down the interstate when it hit the middle barrier and rolled over to the opposite side of the road bursting into flames. Troopers are investigating to find if alcohol was a factor but likely wont know until that investigation is complete. Metro police say a man was shot and killed by an officer yesterday afternoon. And according to policeand according to police, the u. S. Marshals service was tracking a man wanted for several times in arizona those crimes included attempted murder. Contacted metro police asking for help and they were able to track down that suspect and issued several verbal commands that they said were ignored. The suspect kept his right hand toward officers and they open fired. Police later learned the suspect was holding a cell known his hand, not a gun, but you never know. The officer involved is on paid administrative leave as protocol during the investigation. Metro Police Released the Surveillance Video of a suspects vehicle in connection to a body found outside of a 24to a body found outside of a 24hour fitness gym earlier in week. Gives us the first look of the vehicle in question as a mid 2000 twodoor coupe with a spoiler. Two people were believed to be in that car at the time of the crime. Police found that victim dead inside the car with a gunshot found near the 24hour fitness near rainb to, w and alta. If you have any information on that case, contact crimestoppers. Some communities along the Mississippi River will still bracing for the peak of flooding that damaged hundreds of homes and businesses and look at this mess left behind. Winds not expected to be a problem in the valley, but they will continue to be an issue in the Colorado River valley that include the hoover dam, the bridge, as well as Bullhead City and laughlin.
