Sandwich or a variety of fresh make pastries the muffins delivered directly to your conference know it's team said that the spread say you don't have to lift a finger just as it now is catering and watch the attendants your morning meeting improve now with the New York bagel and the fresh baked bagel and very. Good cheer as the show continues with Brian so that s.o.b. Popped out 450 rounds 450 rounds thank God for that hero guy across the street gets news from his daughter Dad there's a gun fire without the church. Dad 55 plumber. Break satisfier arm runs across the street barefoot engages the gunman. To Apparently this guy started shooting 1st outside the church building. His he thought his mother in law was in there hit had something against his mother in law they won't tell us what that was all about his grandmother in law was in there she died by the way he starts shooting outside the church then he goes inside the church. Then he comes outside the church and who knows what he pled not guilty of still firing when he got shot by the sharpshooter neighbor former n r a instructor Hello n r a. So I mean the left does know what to do with this right caught his arm citizen and are a he saved the day and what you'll hear from him a little bit later in the program is just in this what it what one humble good man . And by the way he did get around he got 2 rounds into this guy he got 2 rounds into the killer and as the killer was in that high speed chase fleeing the scene. Killer called up dad he didn't think he was going to make it. Because of those the wounds he had suffered from the hero So we'll talk about that this morning but the sickest story. This one just took the wind out of my sails yesterday in the broadcast we were saying I went out there are limits it wait a 2nd according this guy's record he was discharged honored to sort of discharge the military for domestic abuse he'd beat his wife and his stepson for that alone he should not have been able to purchase a firearm in Texas the laws are very clear So what happens. Some It is some fill in the blank bureaucrat with the Air Force failed to get that information to the national federal debt database so other words for those of you who don't know how it works when you purchase a firearm there's a there's a background check and there's a federal database they can check you out lickety split no one entered this dude's information in the database so you got to wonder how many more people are not in the database this is bureaucracy at its worst. Unbelievable So there's that story this morning 415-808-5600 that's the number on case before 158085630. And that trumps in trouble he said the man had mental health issues how does he know that's discriminating against people of middle shut out and the other thing I mean here's a trump waste of the hour Sherry I don't know sure you produce of the program while the president is in Japan the prime minister of Japan by the way who he did not bow to like Obama did the prime minister Japan and there's this ceremonial feeding of the Corey fish or something like that. And so the prime the prime minister takes this little box of course food and kind of chucks it into the water and he the prime minister does it in a very. He does it in a How was it was it was a. I mean he knew what he was doing there was a little tradition he was using just kind of scoops it out there for the quality and Donald Trump takes his similar box of Cory food just basically turns it over dumps at least dumping out a cereal box. The prime minister does his little flip of the of the quote food and it all goes in the water they'll graceful Yeah so he does it in a very gracious kind of ritualistic matter and say Ok. It's everybody's over all over Trump for the way he dumped the quote food what did you see that all of it in the water now can I tell you something I feed coy on a regular basis because my father in law we spend a lot of time with my wife's parents there are elderly and they need a little help these days and so I will often times go feed the coiffed her father in law. When I feed because I have got an old Folgers coffee can. Filled with coiffed food and I dump it just the way trucked in it there's no little ceremony I just take it did Trump impatiently dump his food in Japanese. You're looking at a headline. Yeah oh yeah there's they're so I'm looking at the way did I think that's just the way I do it but instead of having this little ceremonial box I've got to Folger's copycat what have you this winds up pouring entire box of food into koi pond that's what you do depending on how many fish are there and by the way we only we feed them only ever every few days. But the story in picture up on our blog. It's it's in the news I tell you. Let me see what is there another good story here for you that did you know the stuff you would hear anywhere else. Oh Ok. I don't know why this anytime zucchini makes it into a story just makes me laugh. They'll be a sound effect for the sherry just look at your palate it could be any one of those so a worried resident in Germany alerted police to what he thought was a World War 2 bomb in his garden. Right over. So the police are summoned to the scene it's in Breton b.r. E.t.t. And it's near the southwestern city of notice I can't pronounce it. Ok it doesn't matter it's in Germany somewhere. The closest big cities Berlin so 81 year old guy calls the police says there's a bomb in my garden I'm thinking it must be an old World War 2 bomb police arrived Well yeah it's a big dark in color approximate Levon pounds. Zucchini it was a zucchini a very large zucchini the only thing they can think of this guy the old man said I'm not I don't grow zucchini that's some ICICI who Suki me is that I thought was a bomb so they're thinking that it was the neighbor on the other side of the fence . Who dig Rose who Katie for whatever reason didn't like that one and threw it over the it's. Not a Bob is it Katie. My idea what do you think this is funny and this is hilarious Ok let me give you one more one more from our hilarious correspondence this is. This is from yesterday is this today oh I got the wrong news call I put up all the news calls from yesterday. Let me see news call audio from today I was about to give us the one yesterday that said I was about to call for the one yesterday that said more and more people from played anywhere you have yesterdays news calls available the news calls from yesterday this was by Jan Johnson I heard this yesterday I thought Ok this is of no Does story are you kidding me we all know that it has to do with people who work at home so they work from home They telecommute and they say they feel disconnected from their fellow employees well of course you're telecommuting course you feel disconnected. They say sometimes I'm not in on the the workplace gossip and I don't know what's going well course you're working from home that was your choice I have it oh good Take a listen and it's just like the biggest no dust story. More than half the employees surveyed by the Harvard Business Review say they work at least some of the time from home and when they do they don't feel truly connected to colleagues the survey says employees working remotely are more likely to say they're mistreated or left out specific and they wonder if for example coworkers are saying bad things about them behind their backs or making changes on projects without telling them and the magazine says while managers and employees can take steps to fix this it affects productivity costs dead or when you want to fix or just make people work at the office. To have this is a big deal to you as a telecommuter or to your boss there's one solution come out of the office a brand by the way I'm getting tons of calls people think that c.n.n. Edited that video and the picture apparently did exactly what the. Emperor whatever his prime minister did as far as feeding the food and you know edited it made it look yes. Yes fake new fake. As. You see your doctor self is going to be checking out just what he's our resident doctor of history so we're going to talk to him or I will talk about Ok I want to talk to this is this is the one year anniversary of the election today right we're talking about the election the electoral college which the Dems all want to get rid of let's talk too about this new trend it developed after this shooting you can't say our thoughts and prayers are with you any longer Dr history's the perfect ph d. Today on talk radio 567 he is our resident doctor of history the guy with more degrees than a thermometer as I like to say he is Dr Charlie Self and good morning Dr self thanks for being with us on campus if oh hey good morning it's great to be with you on this is you can eat Tuesday zucchini Tuesday we just talked about the guy in Germany who mistaken day zucchini for a bomb and of course we have a sound effect for that Sherry pleads. His 3 a bomb went off one year ago today my goodness there were people shocked absolutely shocked and they remain shell shocked to this day Donald Trump was elected president of the United States of America when you look back upon history were there any other elections are there any other elections that come to mind that were as surprising as this last one. Where I think in their context you have to look at 1976 when Carter came out of nowhere in the wake of Watergate and CIA scandals and walk down the boulevard during his inauguration and alas he was not very effective as president but it was a complete change night 80 with Ronald Reagan people thought he was going to win but they had no clue it would be a landslide and so I think there have been multiple elections that have surprised the chattering classes but are no surprise to people who understand that sense World War 2 America goes back and forth because she wants someone in the presidency that embodies her values and for 8 years millions of people felt condescended to alienate. Disenfranchised and they came out and they voted to the great shock of the elites so when you think about Donald Trump you know he's an outsider he's not part of the political chattering class then you look at Bernie Sanders you know he's he's somewhat of an outsider as well so to speak I mean he's he's not a mainstream Democrat he had a lot of people who wanted something different in Washington d.c. I look at that here in America I look at Bragg's it I look at Catalonia I look at all these things going on around the world and to me it's as if people are are wishing for pining for something different What's your take on all of this I think you're right I think they're actually pining for what made America an important influence of the world for 200 years and that is maximizing individual liberty and local government and not having a faceless bureaucrat thousands of miles away regulating every part of your life so you find that in the BRICs that you find that in Catalonia you find in the Middle East and other places where they simply want to have much more control over their own lives by the way one thing to realize I love having the bomb go off one of the signs that we have not hit the apocalypse was just this last Saturday and he said declared the day of rage and I think 3 people showed up and I think one of the things to realize is that the vast majority of Americans may or may not like Donald Trump in a particular way but they want to get up every day carry on their lives make a better life for their children in their community and the other thing that I was thinking about in preparation for this moment Brian was that remember that almost every tweet or every 1st statement of Donald Trump is an opening that goshi ating position he may never have to build a wall but illegal immigration is down 70 percent. That's a really great point that's a good point. Dr history coming from you that's especially poignant because again you know you are resident ph d. In history you've got a lot of things that you've done over the years including acting as a consultant to thought leaders business leaders in the Silicon Valley so you understand the negotiating process I think you're spot on we have to understand that maybe we don't take Donald Trump literally but we take him seriously I think that's important so for instance we've got to get a Congress to actually do their job and that is to pass laws that the president can sign or veto or negotiate and so I'm not I'm not always a fan of every tweet or every policy thought but the fact of the matter is it's time for the Congress to do their job and he created the conditions under which they can create legislation that may actually have a chance to pass and So 'd I went back and realized Ok positively. We have a reduction in legal immigration the economy is doing better manufacturing coming back to the states major global treaties are being really looked at and the apocalypse hasn't occurred when you actually look at what's happened it goes negative negatively we still need to balance a budget we still have miles to go and we still need statesmanship on race relations and on cultural challenges we still need better leadership there but it's nowhere near the disaster that people thought but it's mainly because the Elite be elite so lost their hold that's great Dr Charlie Self where the son came as a fellow doctor self again mongst all of your degrees what is in theology and for many years you were a pastor in the Silicon Valley. So I think I want to get your take on this following this awful massacre at a church in Texas. There were a lot of people who said listen we offer. Our thoughts and our prayers to the victims and their families our thoughts and our prayers and so many on the left have just. Ridiculed that whole idea of thoughts and prayers saying oh great what are your thoughts and prayers do for the people who were shot up in a church of all places what's happening in this country where now you can't even you can't even offer your religious convictions your spiritual wishes your prayers without being ridiculed by some what's happening here this is this is a different America something's changing what's going on well 1st of all those folks that are all in a tizzy over this are a very small minority America remains a spiritual and or fairly religious place compared to the west rest of Western Civilization The other thing that's interesting is a genius of our 1st Amendment is no government interference in religion not the absence of religious language in the public and so every president every leader including every Democratic candidate has said the same phrase but when it comes out of Donald Trump's mouth it now becomes kins to the evil for this small chattering class that can handle the fact that they are not in control that said there is a gnostic an atheist folks who are always going to beat an anti religious Drum by the way this really isn't the time for them to beat their drum since the shooter was an atheist what they should be doing is being rather quiet and welcoming those prayers and those thoughts and the issues of tragedy and the issues of of the divine and human tragedy are far too deep to put into a tweet and so I think once again you're seeing the paucity and the anger of a small minority of people compared to the majority of liberals and conservatives that want to get about their lives. No more of the key as of all morning show on. Stage with Brian says Katie green on talk radio 560 ts if this stupidity I tell you this is just amazing so Papa John's Papa Johns is there a major sponsor of the n.f.l. . You know Papa John's Pizza major sponsor the n.f.l. And then they also have sponsorship deals with 26 different n.f.l. Teams. So Papa Johns is really upset because with the decreased viewership this season because you know started the Caprona in those 20 eightieth's you continue to stand during the the national anthem and then all I believe it's not just that I believe that's huge but I also believe you start to look at all the player misconduct off the field and on a weekly basis it's something somewhere so these guys are making headlines for the wrong stuff so you look at that. Then you look at like that fight that took place and it was the Ravens Jaguars game over the weekend which was it was not a fight that was a mugging that's you could have an assault charge filed for that I think people look at all that Ok I can't I can't relate to this. These guys are not my athletic heroes they're a bunch of crazy people. So Papa John's They spend a lot of money on advertising and they're not getting the r o y that they're used to return on investment so the c.e.o. Of Papa John's Johns. He's he said listen the n.f.l. Protester in the national anthem are hurting pizza sales He's a businessman come on so of course you know he's widely roasted by the left. And now you have all these crazy lefties out there say Ok We're going to boycott Papa John's we're going to start going a little Caesar's instead. The point is Papa John's and Little Caesar's they're completely different Papa John's right you have to take the the pizza home and you heat it up at your house. Completely different deals but nonetheless people are going after him because of his statements must be super conservative. It's not a conservative issue it's a guy with a business and a major investment I mean he literally shows up in these ads. Literally shows up in the ads. So anyway it's a stupid thing that people are going after this guy on other stories in the news this morning let me see more political stories political stories I should say. Tesla is going to unveil their electric truck next week. I didn't know they had electric truck in the works what's going to happen with Tesla Oh my gosh because if the g.o.p. Gets their way with this tax plan. They are not going to allow for the federal subsidy for Tesla vehicles which I think is huge I don't think we should be subsidizing those vehicles no rich people can afford their own cars we don't need to be vague if you're going to be spending 100 k. On your car you can it. Right now what is it it's like $9500.00 or something like that anyway it's a federal tax subsidy so in the g.o.p. Tax bill that's one of the things they're carving out none of this we're done we're done. And by the way just as I go down that road let me give you this to. Everybody's noticing the price of gasoline right now except the people driving electric cars you probably noticed they get laughing but the price of gasoline went up notably because we had that tax increase the window effect last week 12 cents a gallon for gasoline and even more for diesel. But don't forget don't forget we told you 1st year Ok suppose just wait until 2020 in the year 2020 there will be an additional $0.72 a gallon gasoline tax. It's going to be the green tax. The cap and trade tax whatever you want to call it that's in 2020 this is all social engineering design to get you out of your fossil fuel car and get you into the electric car which unless you have solar on your roof is actually a fossil fuel car. Ok so now I come back to the story sometimes it takes me a long time to circle back Tesla is going to finally unveil its electric truck I want to see this thing. Calls it a real. Scene of. Ok so the electric truck is it actually. Like a truck that was that an individual buy or is this a big commercial tri type big rig it's a big rig. Electric big rig truck could have a working range of 200 to 300 miles to compete with more conventional Diesel's Ok what's the cost would be a 300 miles on a single charge. Tesla hopes that such a vehicle compete with conventional diesel a conventional diesel that you guys are driving and listening as we speak can't you guys get like upwards of a 1000 miles on a single tank of fuel. So I don't know how this is going to work you got to pull over after 300 miles in charge up. Ok we don't have time to take calls on this but I know we've got guys that can comment accordingly so we'll put up the lines a bit later the reason why we don't have time is we've got a guest coming up. Lou is that he's a great radio interview he is the guy in Sacramento that knows more about taxes than anybody. So let's talk to him about Trump's new tax plan and this was a guy he was doing business when it comes to taxes during the Reagan years I think he was a consultant to Reagan so he's a sharp sharp tool will bring him in shortly on k s info Kati's off but we have tracked would mark the end of just a moment stay tuned. They are Blake Shelton I love the country music connects people all over this great nation but unfortunately so to something else childhood hunger 15000000 children struggle with hunger in America that's why the Feeding America nationwide network of food banks works to rescue our surplus food to help provide billions of meals to families in need across the country join the fight against hunger at Feeding America Together we can solve hunger together we're feeding America by feeding America and the Ad Council. Said about foreign bank accounts with Steve Moscowitz Hey Good morning Steve thanks for joining us as always here in case of 0 It's always amazing how many people are party to one of these foreign accounts of sorts and man do they need to listen to what you have to say this morning. The keys of all morning show continues down with Brian Silver Spring on talk radio 560 cancer phone who you are is the founder and president of the national tax limitation committee Foundation and he's been a guest for many years on my program here on case Pro is calling in from Sacramento Hey Lou How you doing this morning. Join you once again Lou the thing I like about you I'm just going to say this everybody knows you're a guy graduate of Yale University and you. Are Here here here hardly the stereotypical Ivy League blueblood you're just a regular guy I love that. Well look I love Florida and so you know you start right . Yeah and on top of that you did go to law school at the University of California Berkeley. Listen Lou You wrote a book along with Eric and Erick Erickson back in 2010 it was entitled Red State Uprising How to Take Back America Ok in light of that book that was written in 2010 here we are it's the one year anniversary of the election of Donald Trump are we taking back America are we making some strides here Lou where look the progress on tax reform is incredible. We're all saying off the same sheet. Trumps people the Larry Kotlikoff folks Kudlow and Steve Moore and all the rest are just right on target with what Paul Ryan an oar and I had sure are doing in the Congress so this is the opportunity of a lifetime frankly the greatest opportunity since $81.00 when Ronald Reagan made major changes in tax and color for in the u.s. . So Lou tell us what you know you're looking at the proposals that are out there regarding this tax overhaul what's in the plan that you really like what's in the plan that's going to help us take back America well 1st we have just gotten totally off base in terms of the corporate tax situation we have the highest corporate tax of the developed nations have 35 percent so this is going to reduce it to 20 percent. We will have territoriality that is. Will pay taxes American companies that are owning abroad will pay taxes in the country in which they have earned the money but not have to pay it upon repatriation of those earnings to the us we will have a and expensing of capital investment in the year of the investment not over years all of these things together have been analyzed by of the Tax Foundation and can cut Lakoff and our back from Cal and they demonstrate that this will bring tons of billions truly trillions back to America yes increase the wages of the average joe worker etc. You know the other thing about that is Lou you know where this right now of course limit taxes dot org is the Web site limit taxes dot org is the Web site Lou even those who might be dyed in the wool Democrats who are business owners I'm thinking of all those enterprise companies in the Silicon Valley I'm thinking of investors of all sorts even those who are dyed in the world liberal Democrats have to acknowledge that reducing this corporate tax and also this capital investment situation that is going to be good for their business they have to agree with that low. I think you're absolutely right and the data is so abundantly clear and the most recent studies of the last decade demonstrate that out of every corporate tax dollar paid $70.00 to $0.90 is born on the backs of workers in lower wages or foregone jobs so this is not as as the shimmers in the Polo cities of the world would have us believe this is not being done on the backs of the working people. And for the benefit of Wall Street this is being done for the average worker in America well yeah and think about this if it's going to be good for a corporation it's going to be good for that average worker that average middle class guy in other terms as well think of the 41 k. Think of the ira think of the pension if you have one these are all invested in these many corporations so if they're doing good you know what's good for the goose is good for the gander right Lou That's absolutely right and that's you put your finger on a very important part of just to the extent that those who own the corporations will benefit so much of that is now in the hands of the. Investment on behalf of 401 K.'s and retirement plans so it will help our average worker in a retirement environment as well Ok so Lou I got to ask you this question because you're based in Sacramento you've been a California guy for all these years and you understand the lay of the land is there any hope for us in this state I mean I'm looking at all of our top elected representatives top to bottom they're all Democrat I'm looking at the super majority in Sacramento where the Democrats can pass anything they want without a vote of the people in terms of even taxes is there any hope for us what could possibly change the scenario. Well fortunately we have of course the initiative process and Zat will be used to roll back the car tax on the gasoline tax at the next election we have opportunities to use that device to advance the interests of average citizens in many ways and so that is our anchor to one word but you're right the left has taken control of Sacramento and we now have to revive allies the center and the conservative side and win back and to be aggressive. Absolutely national limitation committee and national tax limitation committees online limit taxes dot org founder present Lou Always a pleasure speaking with you thanks for enlightening us this morning you bet all right there he goes on k. As opposed to coming up on the broadcast we're going to talk about the of the Texas shooting. This this will just put a pit in your stomach when you find out how there was a bureaucratic bumbling that allowed this s.o.b to get those guns Ok We're going to talk about that on the program you're also finally going to hear from the hero you know that guy who raced across the street running barefoot with a firearm in his hand after his daughter heard gunshots that guy we now have his name yesterday we only knew him as the neighbor and the plumber Well now we have his name and he's talked and what one good guy I mean you listen to what this man has to say and. He'll you'll just be glad to know that there are good people out there here in the United States and by the way good people out there that are armed just going to say that as well as we've got those stories you hear her age and the bravery to go forth and do that and save outlets number of lives oh gosh what a story what a story Tony Gonzalez the football icons come out yeah he's popping off on capper Nick Ok He was hunted down by here and say. He gets it he totally gets it so we've got that story for you this morning Ok as if oh. What an escape I mean I'm not I don't mean to sound like I'm cheering for these guys but this is like right out of a movie this escaped from the Palo Alto jail yesterday. Is this this was so well coordinated and so well planned you almost wonder if they had somebody on the inside helping them so we'll talk about that as well of course you've come to the right place that's why you're here Brian Sussman Katie green off this morning she's back tomorrow Sherri behind the scenes 415-808-5600 that's the number on talk radio 560 k.
