Reporter troy, talk about a bizarre and gruesome cold case. That is certainly what this is. Pinal county sheriff paul babeu announcing this morning a break in those cases and naming two suspects in the murders that occurred back in april of 2008. Now, 48yearold olivas and his younger brother, both known high level drug traffickers. Sheriff babeu says both are suspects in the 2008 murders of lopez in cordova. Both of those men were reported missing, and their remains were nationals who lived in west phoenix. The remains of lopez, who has an extensive drug crime history, were discovered in a shallow grave in 2009 in casa grande, and then in 2014 remains of his brother were discovered in a septic tank in casa grande. Sheriff babeu says extensive work, and you can imagine how tough it must have been, by the medical Examiners Office as well as investigating deputies is what allowedhe these two drug traffickers to these two cold case murders. This is a cold case and often time people think that we forget about these cases and they are on the back burner while we have so many cases right in front of us that we do have to focus on while the information or suspects are hot on these cases. We never let these down, and we never give up. Keep a look out for the olivas brothers. One of them last spotted in nogales as early as last year. He says if you have any information in these cases or if you think you have spotted either of those brothers, you should contact Law Enforcement immediately. Well, we are working to learn more information about a crash involving a pinal county skyfox over the scene at coolidge near state route 287. You can see investigators there trying to recreate and investigate this crash. We have confirmed that the deputy has been hospitalized and is expected to be okay. There are some new details this afternoon about what caused a driver to crash into a long Time Glendale bakery, Glendale Police telling us they got a call from a woman who claimed she had been assaulted and kidnapped by a group of men near and then according to police, she and her boyfriend got into their car and followed the men. The men in the other car lost control, crashing into that bakery. Several people were detained but not arrested. The woman does not want to press charges. The owner of the bakery says the business has been in their family for 42 years. They have a huge mess to clean up, but fortunately nobody was inside the building at the time. Phoenix police on the way to look out for two men who they believe were involved in a double shooting. It happened about 2 00 a. M. Outside a pub near and bethany home. Police say there was a fight inside the bar. Four people went into the parking lot, two of them were shot, two others took off towards 16th street. The victims suffered nonlife threatening wounds and no description of the suspects has been released. In the border battle, monitoring a sand bar near the mouth of the rio grande, recently exposed to low tides. The tide is expected to remain apparently mexican fishermen have been using the sand bar to move between the two countries. U. S. Border patrol are increasing manpower to secure the area.
