First on fox tonight, a disturbing story coming out of a phoenix neighborhood tonight. A man accused of exposing himself to two Young Children who were playing in a backyard, and then he kids before jumping over a fence and then running away. The man can be seen on a surveillance camera at a neighborhood home. Marcy jones joins us live with the latest. Reporter thats right, guys, very scary story. I spoke to the couple whose Security Camera caught that man on footage. They worked with detectives this morning to work through all of the video. Looking for real change through their city Council Members. We went back this morning with two detectives and went back to the day of the incident and ended up finding the guy headed eastbound, and then 40 minutes later taken off westbound in the alley. When they heard a man exposed himself down the street, they were shocked but not entirely surprised. Theres been a significant increase in the vagrancy and lot of people Walking Around that dont belong and we have been talking to crime stop and as many of the Council Members as we could, but nothing has been done. The neighborhood is just now, now that thats occurred, its hit a little too close to home. Reporter the couple who have three Young Children say its a great tight knit neighborhood but they believe because of a drug clinic close by, Unwanted Company wanders in. 23rd and northern thats attracting all kinds of methadone users, and they stay around, and they get their free fix from the methadone clinic, and once their withdrawals are settled in, they come into the neighborhood. They always keep a close eye on kids, but because of what happened down the street, their outside time will be restricted until theres a change. A little one is two and shes out there all the time by herself, and we have a backyard, and its meant to play in for the kids, and its sad to think that she cant go out there without me being paranoid or on high alert. Now they are looking for extra help from city Council Members. We have a moms group that gets together. Its a great neighborhood and everybody is trying their hardest. We just need a little extra help because we are trying to do as much as we can. Family that this happened to. They say they are all okay but theyre obviously very shaken up. Reporting live, marcy jones, fox 10 news. Police have identified a young woman found dead last week in a canal in buckeye, 18yearold Gabby Gutierrez of surprise. Her body found last friday in a canal along miller road, it is not clear how she died. And now on to a fox 10 news rushed to the hospital after being hit by a car. This happened thrng this evening in el mirage near 128th avenue and cactus. The boy was flown to the hospital. Danielle miller is live at the scene with the latest. What have you learned . John and marc, police left the scene here not too long ago. They were out here completing their investigation, taking some photos. The van a was here. That was the vehicle that in mirage near 128th avenue and cactus, the intersection where police say the 6yearold little boy was hit. Reorts now are that the woman was driving a van, there were a lot of kids in the area. She was actually stopping at the intersection to yield to the kids, and this is when they say a sixyearold boy darted out in front of them. We did talk to a few people out here who tell us it was a dog that the little boy was they were on scene here providing the sixyearold boy with aid. My best friends little brother got hit. Hes screaming, i cant see, i cant see, i cant see. His tongue is bloody, his whole mouth is bloody because he bit his tongue really hard and almost bit it off. Whether they are riding their bike or scooters or whatever, they are darting across this road. I see it all the time, and cars are just running back and forth, and they are doing it quickly, reporter and this little boy was air lifted to phoenix childrens hospital. Im not sure at this time of a condition for this little boy, but police say some good news here, he was alert and was communicating with police. If we get any updates on his condition, well breng you the latest as it becomes available. Reporting live, danielle miller, fox 10 news. A young mother is killed and more than a hundred other people are hurt after a commuter train crashes i Authorities Say right now it appears the train was going too fast when it plowed into the Hoboken Terminal during rush hour. I observed it coming in at a high rate of speed, went over the bumper block, basically through the air, traveled another 40 feet and came to a rest when it hit the wall of the waiting restroom. Lights went out, people fell over who were standing, and then the train came down, caved in. It looks like the train plowed right into the station. A 34yearold woman who was standing on a platform was killed after being hit by debris. The white house says right now no indication that this was an act of terror. Tonight, we are hearing from a 19yearold man who was forced by Phoenix Police officers to eat marijuana to get out of a traffic ticket. All three officers have since resigned. But the 19yearold who ate the pot Edward Castro was pulled over on september 19th for speeding. He had no registration, no license plates, they were suspended at the time. But the officers reportedly gave him a chance to get out of the traffic ticket by eating a gram of marijuana found inside his car. The officers told him if he jail. I told them know, and they had their hands on their taser guns and everything, so i was kind of paranoid, and i went ahead and ate it. Castro later reported the incident to a police officer, all three quickly resigned, and another officer was demoted. Scary moments after a man fired a gun at a school and ray roads. The man fired the gun, took off, ran out of the store. Nobody was hurt but the store was evacuated as police investigated to see exactly what was going on. So far no arrests have been made. Two teens in jail in connection with armed robberies at fast food restaurants. Both robberies caught on camera, and you can clearly see the robber wearing a clown mask, the a taco bell. Police say a suspect at a traffic stop ratted out his partner. The race for Maricopa County sheriff getting hotter, paul penzone filing a lawsuit against Sheriff Joe Arpaio for defamati defamation, an ad citing a Police Report back in 2003 while paul penzone was going through a separation from his then but penzone says the allegations arent true and that his exwife and he worked things out and that the charges were eventually dropped. In his lawsuit, he calls the ad misleading, but the sheriffs campaign called the lawsuit a political stunt. They are trying to take advantage of that for their own political gain. I find it to be one of the most unethical and irresponsible things to do. The fact of the matter is the to look at Police Reports and records to tell the public what they find out about paul penzone. Arpaios lawyers say they plan to countersue. Tomorrow is the official last day of the monsoon. So how will it end, and whats in store for the weekend . Well, dave munsey joins us now with a look at the forecast for us. Dave, we have mentioned it before, this monsoon is really hanging on until its going to hang on until the last day and maybe might find our way into october with some monsoonal activit as well. As you can see its 84 degrees right now, the winds are down pretty good. But we still have some moisture around the state. Heres phoenix right here. We look pretty safe through the night, we are run down. Take a look. We had our rain earlier in the day. Most people got a real nice steady rain for an hour or so, this is where all of the heavy stuff, the storms were, advisories down in the southeastern portion of the state. Theres safford right there and clifton. Get a look, still some moisture rolling through those areas. But look at it rolling on out of the state here as it moves along, and then north of flagstaff, we see a little bit of active weather. Theres not a great deal of it in there, but take a look,. 75 inches in show low, almost a half inch up in st. Johns, so we are seeing a little bit, and then you can see the high, 75 on the low. Shes doing it on the football new at new at 9 00, High School Football is a sport dominated by young men, but in recent years, more and trying out for the team. And thats exactly what girl did, trying out for kicker and making the team. Kristy siefkin has the story. On a quiet afternoon in cave creek, a Young High School freshman is putting in work on the football field by not only kicking field goals but by kicking stereotypes right out the door. And i have played soccer since i was four, so it kind of and thats why i can kick with both my right and my left foot. She may be the only girl on a team of boys of cactus shadows high school. She is no stranger to football. Her uncle played for years, and her dad is a coach at paradise valley. So when she decided to try out to be a kicker, her family was all their jaws dropped. They were like, okay, let me see what you can do. When i made their first 30yard field goal, they were just like and thats the same look other students have when they see carly Walking Around campus with a jersey on. Yeah, this is my jersey, number some people are skeptical about whether a girl should be playing a boys sport, but carly says it all comes down to guts. You just have to get over it and be like, okay, if you were a girl, would you actually be out here doing this . And a lot of people say no, and i have the guts to do this. Reporter on game night, carlys job is about kicking field goals, extra points, and kickoffs. But there was a rare occasion during a recent game when she took her first hit. And, bam, i was on the ground, and number. It was number 84, and ill never forget that. You know, i took a little offense to it. Im not used to her getting hit, but she got up and was ready to go. Its that spirit and determination thats rubbing off on the team and the school. Shes a part of our team now, a part of our family. All of the kids when they excited when she comes out. As we get you a look at the current temperature, 84 degrees, you can see lots of mid and low 80s, even a 70 showing up in our forecast. That moisture continues to find its way into the state here, and we continue to see those temperatures below the seasonal norm for this time of year, and even up north, we are seeing lets make it 93 on the high today, 75 on the low, 95 and 72 normal high and low, record high for the day 107, make it 52 for the overnight low. Forecasting 93 degrees in our forecast. We are going to keep some 60s and 70s in that northern forecast as well. As we look across the country, the floods continue in iowa. They have extended into illinois and indiana now, and you can see the moisture all the way down to washington, dc, we have seen heavy showers throughout the day today. A little bit of street flooding here and there, but that moisture has just continued to roll in. There hasnt been much of a stop to it, and as you look around the country, that is one of the hot spots that we are looking at as far as the moisture is concerned. In fact, look whats down south here. This is matthew. Matthew is a hurricane at the present time, picking up speed it was just in the mid70s earlier today, at 80 now. And this is what they are plotting right now as far as matthew is concerned. However, the extended plot shows that there is a possibility that this is a route that it could take. Heres miami right here, just right up that eastern seaboard, so we are keeping our eye on matthew for that very reason. Look at some of this moisture. Look at detroit here, at 2. 89 inches down in washin 1. 2 inches. So you can see that we are that we were showing you is an area thats really, really had a lot of moisture. Look at new york right around in here. Thats got to be an inch or better in some of those areas. In fact, look what happens to those temperatures. We have 70 degrees in washington, 64 up in detroit, and some 60s up in the northeastern corner, Salt Lake City 78 and 70 in portland for the weekend. If youre looking for something to do on sunday, walk for hope. Its at the phoenix zoo. It starts at 8 00 in the morning. It will be 76 degrees. The Regency Beauty Institute suddenly shut down all 79 leaving students stunned and wondering what to do next. Its left them in a tough spot. The school has two campuses in arizona. Students say they got the word yesterday that the school was shutting down due to financial problems, the department of education saying one of the schools was on probation for not meeting financial standards. Regency was given 75 days to fix the problem but instead the school decided to pull the plug and shut the doors. How did this little dog end up on the roof of this home in South Phoenix . No one really knows for sure but the dog had to be rescue after spending several days up there. Nicole garcia tonight with how the animal control officers got the chihuahua down. Reporter animal control officers have a mystery on their how did a chihuahua get himself stuck on a roof . The little dog was rescued after spending several days on top of a South Phoenix home. Now, the dog doesnt belong to the homeowner who called for help. The chihuahua was stuck up there for nearly a week before officers with the Arizona Humane Society and Maricopa County animal care and control arrived. They got a ladder and some dog food and were able to lure the dog close enough for them to safely take him down. When i picked him up here to look at him, he just kind of he acted like he was very thankful to be down off the roof. The dog is in decent health. Who he belongs to and how he got up on the roof remains a mystery. But animal control officers think he may have climbed up on to a tree near the house and from the tree jumped up on to the roof. The victim died in a hospital. The suspect took off after the shooting. But officers say they did find Illegal Drugs in the mans car, so that may have something to do with what happened here.
