Oh, my god true panic last night for a lot of people who saw that fireball in the sky, as a small plane that was being used to carry sky divers caught fire and then crashed into a home in gilbert, just incredible. Yeah, and there were two people inside that home watching tv. Somehow, miraculously they were not were also okay. Only the pilot has injuries in this. Marcy jones joins us live from gilbert reporter thats right, guys. Its 27 hours after this happened, and its really interesting, the pungent smell of a freshly put out fire. Total loss here says the fire nobody was killed. Just that pilot had burns all over his body. They are calling it nothing short of a miracle. I have often thought about, you know, why this had to happen, and i dont know. I guess thats for everybodys own conclusions. But i believe in miracles, and this was one of them. Barbara isnt the only one calling what happened last night a miracle, after a small plane previously carrying fou into this home. Its miraculous no one lost their life. Neighbors say its a horrific scene. We walked outside to our backyard, and we saw the ball of fire up in the sky. So we knew it was an airplane on fire, and then we just saw it coming down. Barbara says at first no one knew exactly what was going on when a crowd of 8,000 at the Gilbert Civic Center watched the fire fall from the sky. At that time we didnt know what it was. The sky. We did see the sky divers, and they did land, all of them, so we didnt really know at that point what was going on. A couple was inside of the home watching tv at the time of the crash. Thankfully, they escaped before the home was engulfed in flames. Barbara says the skyhawk divers are all okay but still shocked at what happened. They are shook up. They are seeing the whole miracle in this grateful. Their concern is for the family that the plane went into their house you, and theyre very, very, very sorry about that. Of course, it was out of their control, but theyre all doing okay. You can just imagine how terrifying it must have been for those sky divers to jump out, knowing that something was wrong with that plane. Now, ntsb is launching a full lgislation into exactly what led up to this crash. Reporting live, marcy jones, marcy, thank you. Tempe police beefing up security tomorrow at Corona Del Sol high school. Police are investigating a rumor about threat there, and while officers say they dont believe these rumors are credible, they also dont want to take any chances. The man suspected of running his car into three Phoenix Police officers has been taken to the hospital. Marc payne was held on charges of attem murder and aggravated assault, among other charges. Now, he sped across the parking lot of a qt store early tuesday morning. All three officers have since been hospitalized and released. The Maricopa CountySheriffs Office says payne was taken to the hospital wednesday. So far no word on what payne is being treated for. Fire crews are working to put out the san jim fire about hes video from our own photo journalist, tom fergus. Fire crews on the side of the road working to put that out, the flames have now burned through more than 500 acres since this fire started. It was nearly two weeks ago that it was sparked by lightning. As of today, that fire is still not contained. Fire crews putting out a fire at an old church, this time in buckeye. The flames sparked at this abandoned church near verde road in pima. When crews got there, fire had already spread to most of the buildings. Crews are calling the fire suspicious because the church doesnt have any power to the building. No word on how it started yet, the Maricopa CountySheriffs Office is investigating. Investigators are now reviewing a stabbing attack at a minnesota mall as a possible act of terrorism. We are currently investigating this as a potential act of terrorism. We do not at this point in time know whether the subject was in contact with, had connections with, was inspired by a foreign terrorist organization. Reporter the chaos unfolded at around 8 00 p. M. At the cross roads center in st. Cloud. Drez uniform, the attacker began stabbing people, nine people. An offduty Police Officer killed the attacker. He clearly prevented potential injuries and loss of life. His heroic actions are exemplary. Police say the attacker mentioned allah, and asked at muslim. We have executed at least two search warrants. We did discover the suspects vehicle in the mall parking lot. That vehicle was cleared and impounded, and, in other words, there is no eminent threat. I. S. I. S. Claimed responsibility for the violence, calling the attacker a soldier of the islamic state. Community leaders in the Islamic Group are condemning the attacks. Our community has relationship with i. S. I. S. Islam is peace. Its not known if i. S. I. S. Planned the attack or inspired it as another lone wolf attack in the United States. A valley woman was an innocent victim of a tragic accident. She spent the past half recovering, fighting to regain her strength and her life. This year, she will share her story of survival in an effort to help others. Anita roman has her story. I was hit and ran over on memorial day, going out for my sons engagement. We were going to go celebrate. What started as a celebration quickly turned into tragedy. Big suv just kep hit a woman. Okay. So she was a pedestrian . She was standing outside. My daughter and i were both hit from behind and drug under the vehicle. She was pinned under that suv. The impact crushed her bones and severed her leg. I had ten surgeries, but i didnt actually wake up until june. I was in a coma. The now 60yearold spent several days in the hospital learning to walk again. I always hiked. I went to the health club. I worked fulltime. And then youre just laying your honor back for about five weeks, just not doing anything, is a little hard on the mind. When she used the power of her mind to regain strength in her body, a positive attitude and daily motivation for all of those around her. It was amazing.
