Empty parking spots at the Welcome Center at the Golden Gate Bridge is not what you would expect on a busy holiday. Traffic Management Issues have closed the parkng lots at both the south end of the bridge and vista point on the north end for much of the long weekend. What we see is a large amount of traffic attempting to access these parking lots. Very quickly the lots are filled and we end up happening is a large backup onto the span of the Golden Gate Bridge.
