She was admitted september 19th because of weight loss and altered mental status. The report notes she was off unit, her possessions were gone from her room but her cell phone was there. New this morning a spokesperson for the woman released a statement saying the cause of death issued on friday by the medical examiner is incomplete and confusing with no mention of the date or time of her death and releasing information late on a friday afternoon with no notice to the tn report appears to be designed to confuse and confound. And david perry joins us. David, that report was released yesterday after we had been speaking about the story for almost months now. And we have been waiting for that report. They have ruled the death as an accident. What is your first of all of a for the continuing coverage not only to the family and everyone who gets treatment, we find the report incomplete. The most important question has yet to be answered, the date and time of death. And any mitigating factors leading to her death mentioned in that report ignore the fact that for 17 days she was neglected on the stair well. The cause of her death is neglect and abandonment by the people who were to care for her. Dehydration and dell iryum was part of her cause of death she suffered from alcoholism. What do you think when you hear that . Well, i think two things, we understand that the medical examiners reports are documents. However it was a stress me and report and they were implicating that somehow the victim was the cause of her own death. Thats like saying that someone with a gunshot wound deserves to be shot or a rape victim deserved to be raped. The circumstances why she was in the hospital getting treatment are beside the point. We feel offense tive bring them up in any way. She was there under the medical care of San Francisco General Hospital. She deserve to be treated. She deserved not to die alone and abandoned on the stair well. She was dehydrated she went without water mere feet away from one of the best facilities in the country. You are in contact with her children. How are they doing this morning . Again, this question has been asked for three months. And it is getting worse. Theyre devastated. They cannot find closure, once again yesterday her family and friends had to get news from the media. The medical examiner in the report which is incomplete, seemed to have no grasp of human compassion. I will say that it is suspicious to me that a report was released at 3 00 on a friday afternoon during the holiday season. It does not give an opportunity to respond. She died because the people who cared for her did not do their duty. It is a terrible accident. We are committed to making sure it never happens again. We have detailed when she was found she was dressed. She had left her cell phone and in her room. The report is saying she had the pads on her weekend as as well as iv access in her arm. She was about to be released. Does that make sense . It is hard to make sense of that. Im not a doctor. But any thinking person would say does that sound like a person to be released from the hospital . No. We had continued for three months to get conflicting stories. We could like ss general and sf general and give us answers not in piecemeal form but we would appreciate it those are not given at 3 on a friday afternoon. Were you given no notice of the report . We were not. The day before that something was about to come out. But we were told we would be shown this before was released to the media. And we heard first about the release of the report. And this shows to me a lack of compassion and at its basis and at the office. You called it incomplete and confusing in a statement that we have put on our web site. And just a few more questions for you. And it said that her cause of death was also due to chronic alcoholism. Is that something you knew about her and does that make sense . She was not an alcoholic, i that she like a lost us enjoy ed a drink or two but thats beside the point. The reason someone goes into a hospital does not just the treatment. This is like saying someone who goes into the hospital with a gunshot wound is not going to be treated as seriously well they should not have been playing with guns. And we would open this is not trying to distract from the fact. And they hold us she was not even there. I know you that have been on top of us. I have to ask how are they doing this morning . It is a replay for them. We had news about their mother but i hope you didnt hear it on the tv or radio. It is hard to see closure when it is reopened. It is called saving mr. Banks. Empa thompson for sense and sensibility and howards end. This is in saving mr. Banks will have her in the running again this year. She is the best selling author. She had children falling in love with mary popins. But the complicated author she was more than that. She was very special to her. And walt disney wants to make a movie, she has to be there but control every aspect of if. But tom hanks and behind the scenes film making. And this is an entertaining and smart movie. It takes us to her childhood and reminds news that way only movies can that no matter who we are, we bring our childhood with us. Some with heavier baggage than others. Four hats for telling this story without giving it a spoonful of sugar. It is engrossing and a great movie. I look forward to people seeing save ling banks. Not really for kids. But sit them down with the world disney film. Thats a classic. Thats great. Makes you want to watch the old ones. Exactly. This time of year especially. Now in 2009, get ready for something strange. There was a movie about Lance Armstrongs return to biking. But his doping scandal erupted so we have before and after interviews with armstrong and colleagues and supporters. And see who is thrown under the bus. This is not a story about doping in sports but power. This tale introduces us to the talented and driven athletes and we watch as fame, power and money take charge. And it is so much to look at. You will feel this is not an indictment against the man but against the sports culture that could allow this to happen. Great cycling footage. It is worth seeing. It will be up for best documentary.
