p.m. last night in south san jose. the cause remains under investigation but the residents of the mobile home told firefighters she had several candles burning on the dresser that she left unattended. just been purchased by another group inside the store. when they refuse, one of the suspects opened fire. police arrested this man, he is 23 years old. he is from oakland. this is the man of the family detained although others got away. we spoke with family members of the victim who blame wal-mart. >> i am angry. i am angry more so at the lack of security and the lack of protection than the to negotiate. we got into this position because of overspending. overspending by both parties. everyone is guilty. for us to have some real solution, it first needs to start with cutting government spending. >> there is the rub. it is not likely to happen, especially in an election year. d.c. some type of quick response were quick answer to this? >> not at all. it is unfortunate that this will be kicked down the road another year. that is a the president did last year by starting the dax committee, to have a talking point and say he was addressing it in some sort of manner, but once they came out with their report, nothing was done with it. we have been kicking the can down the road for way too long. >>ysabel: it sounds like it is time for the public to go back to their congressmen to do something to move this forward. it sounds to me that the public has to make some effort. >> it is. the public does have to get involved in and get engaged. at the end of the day, they will only be government spending. the public spoke out last year saying that government spending in the economy were the top two issues for them. that force many debates in washington this past year and ultimately
