The family of caleb on daily on celebrating what would have been his 18th birthday and graduation from high school in june and class of the special needs student died last year after wandering off of the Everest Academy campus at man that, you know, because that should have ever but he should have never. And allowed to leave school, keep ons legal guardian and grandmother rayshawn de leon watson says kyiv on walked at least 2 miles away from the school before anyone noticed he was gone. He was later found after suffering from multiple seizures and was taken to the hospital. He died just days later. Watson doesnt understand how her grandson who had known disabilities was able to be on his own without supervision. And this is just absolutely intolerable. Its reprehensible. And so its our hope that, you know, this action will bring about change to ensure that that well unified School District doesnt allow this type of conduct to current future. Brian harrison is an attorney who is representing key vaughns family in a lawsuit against vallejo city unified School District. The suit is seeking to bring about change for students with disabilities. It is a bit like yvonne who doesnt get the resort is dedicated to him and thats how something tragic like this happens. Key van zandt says he was creative, funny and loving just so much. Ryan there is not wife that if to say. Johns family says the District Needs to be held accountable for what happened. I want to see some change them within the district. All family want change. Well, the attorneys representing key vaughns family say significant financial damages are being looked at, but their primary concern is improving school life for special education students. We are following the developments out of said county on the story that we broke last night at 8 oclock. Thats where a kidnapped family of 4, including an 8 monthold baby, were found dead. The discovery of the family comes just a day after investigators released chilling Surveillance Video of that kidnapping in in the video. You can see the family being taken away from their business in zip ties will today county sheriff revealed the suspect worked for one of the Family Companies and had a working relationship with them. The sheriff added right now its not clear and the suspect worked directly with the brothers who were killed. All of the details have not been released. Meantime, them or said sheriff admits that this has been very disturbing case. I mean, anguish for the families of the victims, families on this. Theyre going to have a life long. Suffering from undersheriff gibson. And i spent well over an hour with the family this morning. And the grief and the sadness and the and the anguish that they were feeling it breaks my heart. And at times i wanted to cry myself. Authorities say that the suspect 48 yearold Jesus Salgado has a criminal background, including home invasion. Police say after the family was kidnapped, salgado tried to take his own life before they arrived at his home. He was in Critical Condition when taken into custody. Meanwhile, across the country, cleanup efforts continue in florida after Hurricane Ian tore through their power has now been restored to about 97 of the state. But that still leaves some 200,000 customers without electricity. Governor ron desantis is asking out of town utility workers to come and help in the hardest hit areas. Thats the states southwest region. Fort myers, meanwhile, work repairing the bridge to Sanibel Island has started, but many people are still having trouble just getting food and water. Federal and state Officials Say it will take months to rebuild in some cases, it will take years. Fort myers beach resident is now living with a family in San Francisco after escaping Hurricane Ian. Whitney peterson was just walking into a business on Market Street tuesday when a man followed her into the building. And ripped her purse from her arm. Security cameras show the thief running out the door, but peterson wasnt going down without a fight. I just ran after him and i didnt think about how that was possibly dangerous. I i didnt think about it. And i know that might have been not the greatest, but i tackled him. Heres and says she actually almost didnt get her purse back. But a getaway car was waiting for her attacker during the tackle. She hit her head on the sidewalk. As you can see there, it resulted in a concussion. She has filed a Police Report but her purse, the birthday has yet to be recovered. In the east bay, berkeley, police have arrested a woman who they believe is behind a series of kidnapping attempts dating back to august. Kron fours gayle ong has that story. Police say wednesday morning the suspect was arrested after she was found driving in the area around here at the North Berkeley bart station. Berkeley. Police say 36 yearold Dominique Walker is suspected of attempted kidnappings were reported in august and september. Heres a map of where the incidents happened. Police say on august 29th around 05 30pm, walker approached a 14 yearold boy twice while working in his front yard in the area of allston way and jefferson after the first case started with. The the male suspect trying to talk to the young boy. Shaken and then just kind of talk to him. They would like very slow. We ended up leaving about 30 minutes later. Police say walker then approached a 13 yearold girl walking in the area of allston way. And mckinley app on september 14 around 06 10pm. Police say the suspect approached a 15 yearold boy in the area allston way and grant street backed actually tried to get the young boy to get into her vehicle. Police say the last reported incident took place on september. 20th around 05 30pm, where the suspect approached a 12 yearold boy riding his scooter near sacramento street and addison street. This is the very scary event for all parents and for all children involved and for the community in general. Hopes are Jessica Perry with the Berkeley PoliceDepartment Says tips from witnesses helped detectives identify walker and obtain an arrest warrant on suspicion of attempted kidnapping and 3 counts of annoying and molesting a child. Officer perry says the victims were not physically ran home. They ran away. They ran until their parents who called and notified the police department. San francisco is suing Princess Cruise Lines and bay delta merit time over a 2019 harbor mishap. According to the lawsuit filed last week, the companies were negligent in positioning 2 boats during a docking. The city alleges an incoming liner went off course and knocked a tug boat into the pier, smashing 3 of its concrete does support pillars. The city is looking for over 1 Million Dollars in compensation for the cost to repair a plus interest and legal fees. You see the tower there, San Bruno Mountain to get the idea that fog really kind of squash right down the service, no delays with some of that dense fog developing outside right now. No delays at sfo, oakland or san jose. How about you . Get away forecast in the monterey bay tomorrow. You will find a couple of patches of dense fog early on tomorrow. Then some low 60s in the moderate with some patchy fog. A little sunshine, warm. 77 in carmel valley, Southern California. And that is going to warm the temperatures up, especially inland by tomorrow afternoon, maybe back in the 90s, maybe closer midnineties in some spots. Tonight. Patchy fog developing some of that sneaking inside the bay not making its way all the way to the interior valleys is too shallow to make it way well inland. So tomorrow were kind of off and run. Youve got a cool fog along the coastline. Some clearing by the afternoon that about 72 degrees in downtown San Francisco. Got nice 60s out along the coastline with cool fog. Kind of at the beach inside the bay, though, much warmer weather. 76 in burlingame define about 80 degrees, san carlos tomorrow. 82 woodside lot 80s in the south bay tomorrow afternoon.
