Thank you so much for joining us. We have new details tonight from the city of oaklands one 100th homicide of the year. Police say that 6 yearold luis true was shot and killed monday afternoon. Im street near 12th street. We have video from the scene. Its from the citizens app. And on wednesday, Police Arrested a wheelchairbound man in connection to true hills death. Court documents are alleging the suspect and the victim had an argument over drug money. But the suspect is claiming that he fired the gun in selfdefense. Kron fours gayle ong is following up on the investigation tonight. Well have more details and reaction from the victims family coming up during kron. 4 news at 9. And the rise in crime has also affecting a lot of people, including a gunshot victims who have been treated at Highland Hospital in oakland. According to data from the Alameda Health system, the number of victims rose more than 1000 for all of 2022. 2021 from 561 in the previous 2 years. The average number of gunshot victims per month. This also up so far this year on average, 44 people have been treated per month compared with 24 2019. And 23 in 2018 Highland Hospital does not treat all the gunshot victims in alameda county. But it does seem any of them. Other news tonight, just days after a man in oakland was shot and killed while attempting to stop the theft of a catalytic converter thieves in berkeley opened fire on resident doing the exact same thing. Berkeley police are looking for 2 suspects last seen speeding from the Berkeley Hills thursday morning wearing hooded tops and driving a dark colored suv. One of them is accused of opening fire on a resident who heard sawing noises and witness them attempting to steal a neighbors catalytic converter. I find it really concerning that. These thieves are now willing to go as far as murder. In order to get whatever whatever money theyre getting from trading in these catalytic converters. Shooting happened in the Berkeley Hills near oak street and glenn avenue. Police say although multiple shots were fired, the resident was not hit. He called 911 before calling out to the suspects. But on Tuesday Morning in oakland, Arturo Coronado was shot and killed in his doorway when he told catalytic converter thieves to get away from his car council member. He is believed to be the first victim of stockton, suspected serial killer who still has not been caught. Vasquez says oldest daughter spoke with kron fours dan thorn tonight saying that her family is heartbroken over the senseless loss. He was a great weather. He was well known in oakland. People living in santa rosas fountaingrove neighborhood were not happy wednesday night as hundreds of people and vehicles showed up for a house party. The home was being used as a shortterm rental. And on this particular night that were talking about on flint ridge drive. Well, this house said one heck of a party going on about 10 oclock wednesday night. The Santa Rosa Police department got flooded with calls complaints, hundreds of people rolled up to this house and started party. The jays and taco trucks and a full bar set up an inviting hundreds of people to residents for neighborhood isnt responsible. It took 6 officers over an hour to to clear out this party. So thats frustrating us to the Police Department that were dedicating resources to shortterm rentals which are being properly manage. He said taco trucks were there. Santa rosas police chief says the property was being used by renters to the web site. Vrbo and this case, the people there violated the city. Shortterm rental ordinance that passed last year, which allows no more than 2 shortterm renters per bedroom. And one offstreet parking space per bedroom as well as no large gatherings. The chief says his department is broken up dozens of similar huge parties at rentals this year. California started setting out inflation relief payments in the form of tax rebates to qualified residents today. So the big question is yes, with the fog, allow the blue angels to fly. Yeah, yeah. I think theyre going to fly. I think theyll get a nice light off in the afternoon. But i think right there at the marina green, i mean, this touching go specially in the morning. Dont go there expected early on that. Its going to be nice and clear. But as you head through the day, the middle of the day, the clouds going to start to lift. I think the airshow looking out yeah. Were going to see the blue angels flying up above. You may have seen him today of last couple of days. What a beautiful sight to see around the bay area. You can see that fog and some sunshine in the San Francisco temperatures going to pop up in the low 70s by the afternoon, but plan to be a little bit cool in the morning hours. And then that sea breeze starts to kick in a northwesterly wind about 10 to 20 miles an hour in the afternoon out there. Right now. We do have a couple patches of fog beginning to sneak into San Francisco in other parts of the bay areas kind of low deck out there right now. So thats good news. We want that to be kind of low except its pretty dance. If youre out there driving in it, youve got to be pretty thick fog near the coastline across the golden gate bridge, an were going to see that into early tomorrow morning as well. Temperatures youve got 50s along the coastline in the fog. You are clear and youre a warm in the concord at 76 degrees. 79 almost 80 degrees still in pittsburgh. 74 in fairfield, 67 in napa and 57 degrees in petaluma. Now that fog is going to continue to move on shore. But again, its being compressed by the big dome of High Pressure up above. So even though weve got the fog out there now, its kind of a thin layer and that so its coming right down to the surface. So you get caught in that. You look at some dense fog, but it should burn off fairly early. Highpressure. Take care of us for the weekend building overhead for at least another day. Then well start to see some weakening. I think as we get into sunday. But theres an act of a storm out there off the coastline. Just cant give you that ridge is too strong. Family told kron 4. Shes a highrisk mysky missing person because she could be targeted by human traffickers. They say she ran away from a Nonprofit Program in hayward tuesday night to lisa is 5 feet tall. Weighs about 150 pounds has brown hair and brown eyes. She may have been seen in san lorenzo near Village Baptist Church with this 15 yearold girl last night. Anyone who has any information on to leashes whereabouts is asked to call the hayward Police Department. Were getting new details now out of merced said county tonights the brother of the man suspected of kidnapping and killing a family. There has been arrested in connection with the case. Was arrested in Merced County for criminal conspiracy, accessory and destroying evidence. Law enforcement officials also provided Additional Details about the possible motive for the killings. They say that the primary suspect, Jesus Delgado had a longstanding dispute with the family. Hes been booked on 4 charges of murder. Officials say he sent the family angry texts and emails about a year ago after he worked for their trucking company. So is now in jail after spending several days in the hospital for allegedly trying to take his own life. And there were hundreds of see Community Members who gathered and were said last night for a candlelight vigil for the victims, which includes an 8 monthold girl, her parents and her uncle. These vigils are expected to happen again tonight and the next 2 nights to honor the 4 lives lost. 2 relatives of a 9 yearold boy who drowned at a pool 3 months ago have been arrested. The boy drowned in a backyard on july 6. Police say no adult was present when it happened in the boy and left his home unsupervised Police Arrested. 25 yearold rocio and 42 yearold pedro rivera. Yesterday. They face charges of suspicion of felony child endangerment in connection with that drowning. A surfers Quick Reaction saved his life during a near fatal shark attack in northern california. 31 yearold Jerry Trainor was out riding the waves last sunday, an arcade and humboldt county when a shark suddenly bit into his right leg. But the annual kind of people dying of overdoses last year remained at a crisis level in 2021. 625 people died from drug overdoses involving opioids, cocaine or mask. An 11 decrease compared to 2020. But that was still 41 above prepandemic levels. Fentanyl remained the primary cause of Overdose Deaths in the city. With 75 of overdoses involving opioid africanamericans in San Francisco. Experience an overdose death rate. That is 5 times higher than the citywide total. In the south bay, senator county just received 2 Million Dollars in state funding to try to make progress on cleaning up litter and homeless encampments on the streets today, county supervisor cindy chavez made the announcement and highlight is that the program will include 15 locations in the area, especially along capitol expressway in san jose. And this will allow for 2 separate cleanup programs. The san jose conservation corps cleanups will focus on roadside areas throughout the county that are heavily litter and experienced Illegal Dumping and the litter is especially bad here on capitol expressway. Supervisor chavez also said the program will provide Job Opportunities and training for the community. Now our 4 zone forecast says we cant this. Really dramatic shot of downtown San Francisco. Youre starting out some dense fog early in the morning. Temperatures generally in the 60s as we head toward the coast. See the fog and low clouds making its way on shore right now. A low deck of fog that has moved on shore below just about 700 feet or so as moving on shore, maybe a little bit higher than that. But its not to be able to make its way all the way inland. Were going to be left with some mostly clear skies in the interior valleys, but along the coastline, youve got that patchy fog to contend with temperature wise 60s and 70s in the San Francisco gets 50s and 60s along the coastline inside the bay. The temperatures generally moving up in the 70s all the way down. The peninsula should be some beautiful weather and warm in the afternoon. A hot temperatures showing up in the tri valley and places well inland up in the 90s there. But along the coastline, a much cooler weather. And thats what its going to stay as we are in the cool things down a little bit more on sunday and much cooler weather starting on monday, tuesday, wednesday of next week.
