They actually had two pumps they were using but one of those has been taken away. This is what this Mobile Home Park looked like this afternoon. You can see that in some locations the roads were underwater. The Fire Department was keeping a close eye on this. Mandatory evacuations were not given but still some people did evacuate. The back side of this Mobile Home Park is protected by levees and train tracks. The water came over the train tracks and flooed these streets. I talked with those living in this area. This is what they had to say. I said are we going to leave or stayso were still here well it was terrible this afternoon cause the water was really high but now it looks like its a lot better. Its running down. Thank godas i made the trip down here from San Francisco i came across at least 4 accidents. Cars that had lost control in the rain. Even my suv hydroplaned a few times. All of these were minor accidents but people were certainly having problems getting from one place to anotherback out here live the Alameda Creek has been rising all day and now streets are closed due to flooding and a mudslide on niles canyon road. They just keep pulling into the parking lot to look at the raging river. Ive seen one person go over the ledge here to try and get a closer look at the water. Obviously thats extremely dangerous. Its pitch black out here, with no lights so people are using their headlights so they can get a glimpse. People that have been living in this neighborhood for decades arent used to seeing this much water so its fascinating. But there is also concern for safety niles canyon at mission blvd has been closed for some time. And thats because parts of the roadway is flooded. The Santa Clara ValleyWater District says it will to continue to release until the spillway reaches 2000 cubic feet per second. Then they will close the outlet at the bottom to relieve any additional pressure downstream into coyote creek and cause flooding in other areas. But with those mandatory evacuations lifted. And all this new rain. Just how voliatle is the situation in butte county tonight . Grant lodes has been on oroville watch for more than a week now. Theyre continuing to release water from the dam and make repairs tothe damaged spillways. Which was the whole problem in the first place. Crews are also working on contingency plans just in case people have to leave their homes again. That means everything from improving detailed maps of thearea. To coming up with more evacuation routes. The butte county sheriff says theres still a warning to local residents that theyneed to be prepared. He says that lots of progress has been made in cleaning up debris at the bottom of the spillway. Tonight, theres cautious optimism that the lake has room for all the additional rain.
