Brownlee is now in San Joaquin County jail facing 6 murder charges. His criminal rap sheet dates back to 1997 when he was arrested for possessing crack cocaine. Court records show he served 2 years in san quentin in 2014, arrested for selling crack cocaine in Alameda County. Now back in jail. No bail. This clearly is the potential for the Death Penalty because its special circumstance involving multiple murders. Legal analyst steven clark says the District Attorney is likely to decide on pursuing the Death Penalty after speaking with families of the victims. But he says the prosecutions case will have to rely on circumstantial evidence from what weve seen in the reports. There are no eyewitnesses to these killings and theyre going to have to build their case piece by piece to show that hes responsible for every one of these killings because the defense is going to say. But the chief says that this case actually started. Back on friday and the individual was actually recording the entire incident. Hernandez got out of his vehicle, threaten the individual by brandishing a firearm. Theyre racking the slide at the individual. And threatening to cause harm to that individual. The chief says it was on friday when hernandez rear ended a driver near 73rd avenue and international boulevard. And then threatened the driver with a gun. The driver reported the incident to police and a warrant was issued for hernandez. The chief said when officers tried to stop hernandez on monday, he got into his car and sped off. The pursuit ended here at snow and 69th when hernandez rammed into a truck and killed its driver at the scene, fortunate my heart goes out. To the family the person who lost his life get since this crime that. Could have been avoided. The chief defended his officers saying that hernandez posed a threat to the community as he pulled a weapon following the friday hit and run the officers involved are now on administrative leave with several investigations underway to examine their actions. The driver of the truck killed in mondays collision has not been identified yet. Hernandez was booked into the Alameda County jail.
