Oakland police are investigating these 2 shootings, homicides. No arrests have been made so far. And in San Francisco, 2 women were shot in the Mission District last night. Police say one of the women is life threatening injuries. The other does not. No arrests have been made. Also in San Francisco, 2 people diedkin separate Violent Attacks just hours apart at 10 oclock. On sunday night, Police Responded to a double stabbing at a home on geary street in lower. Not hill. They say one person died. The other was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The Second Attack happened yesterday around 02 00am Police Responded to a deadly shooting in the fillmore district. Officers say they found a man who was shot and killed near a lagoon and turk Street Police are still investigating both incidents. And the north bay, a 30 yearold man is dead after being shot in the late hall yesterday morning. That shooting happened at 11. 47 on solano avenue. The department of justice says they were all charged in the case accused of smuggling a number of cell phones into the state prison. The others involved organize the shipments of the phone from las vegas to pittsburgh. Each defendant faces a maximum of 20 years in federal prison and a 250,000 fine. Fire crews have been working to the rain trying to increase containment of the massive mosquito fire. The latest update shows the fire has burned more than 76,000 acres. Its 39 contained nearly 100 structures have been either damaged or destroyed. Thousands of people are now being allowed to return to their homes as more evacuation orders have been downgraded to warnings with there. Still some reason to have a little concerned there. Its not just is the fire here or there. Its do. We have the infrastructure in place to let these people go back to their homes, having what they need and being safe. Nearly 4,000 personnel are working to try to put out that fire. And as the mosquito fire threatens many lives as well as property. It also threatens a tiny Placer County grow of giant sequoia trees, garage. Paul tsongas shows us how crews protected the 1000 year old trees. Take a look. It is the northernmost grove of giant sequoias in the world hidden in our backyard within the Tahoe National forest. At the mosquito fire burned a radically deposit county, big trees. Firefighters began work last week to remove potential fuels from the base of the 6 giant sequoias installed a Sprinkler System and then use prescribed burns to eliminate the threat, essentially treating the giants grove. California wildfires destroyed and thousands of the the National Park service says more than 85 of all giant stick with have burned in wildfires since 2015. Great news seeing that, especially knowing that the mosquito fire is burning through one of those sequoia groves back here at home, things are a little bit on the drier side, comparatively, as you can see, the sierra still have some rain and snow in it while the bay area, its dried out pretty nicely. Yesterday we saw some convection that is thunderstorm building across the eastern port of the bay area. That was solano eastern contra costa and alameda counties today. Well see that potential yet again, although not quite as high of a potential of thunderstorms building as what we saw yesterday, that lowpressure area still steering its way our direction from the west. Weve seen the bulk of that precipitation already having pushed to the bay area from that. Now were just dealing with some unsettled air across the region as we see some afternoon sunshine that potential of afternoon thunderstorms building does happen again, not as high as yesterday, but you can see those popup areas of green on into the afternoon. Im expecting one to 2 of them, but definitely not as frequent as of rain for inland areas as what we saw yesterday. Cant ignore the fact that her bayside and coastal areas are actually going to remain dry and calm much. As we saw yesterday in the same spots, these areas not seeing anything. Well, we could see another dose of some lighter rainfall this time around for some of our inland areas. As for todays daytime highs will be back to the 60s and 70s for San Francisco as as the rest of the bay. Not a lot of change from yesterday. Were keeping a lot of the factors.
