After two strong arm robberies were reported yesterday ternoon at the concord station. One of the victims had to go to the hospital because he suffered injuries during one of the attacks. Kron 4s jeff bush has the details and reaction from concerned passengers. Pam bart police say both robberies happened in broad daylight around two o clock monday afternoon. According to police, a group of three teenagers took the backpack of an Olympic High School student while he was waiting for a bus in front of the station. The victim was somehow able to get his bag back but suffered a cut to one of his hands from a broken bottle. A short time later, another olympic high student was approached by the same grouppolice say they were after his backpack as well. Officers say that victim was able to fight off the robbers and ran awaybut, someone threw a metal object and hit the victim in the head. He had to go to the hospital to treat his wounds. The gang ran off in an unknown direction. Bus passengers were concerned to hear the details of the robbery but some say they are not surprised. And at this time, they also have not connected this case to any others. This week, the federal Highway Administration is inspecting the bay bridge tunnel. Through yerba buena island. Crews are using radar to look for any weak spots in the concrete of the nearly 80year old tunnel. Back in january. A large chunk of concrete fell from inside the tunnel. And nearly hit a driver. Shortly afterward. Caltrans did conduct an inspection. And found several problems which it has since repaired. The Transit Agency says, the use of radar for this second inspection, could help spot hard to see dangers. it goes up to 12 in.
