Jeff take a look at these two pills. The one on the left is a real xanex pill bought in a pharmacy and the one on the right is a fake. They look similer but the San FranciscoHealth Department says the one on the right could be responsible for as many as four deaths in the city. Kron four told you about one of the cases of overdose last weeknow, it seems the office is investigating three other deaths that might be connected to the fake pills. The Health Department says the counterfeits were bought on the streets of San Francisco and contain the powerful opiod called fentanyl. Fentayl is a fast acting drug that has a powerful affect on the useroften times rendering the patient unconcious and, in the case of overdose, the user will stop breathing because of the affects of the drug. Medical professionals are hoping this is the last they will see of the counterfeit drugs but fear there may be more out there. The medical Examiners Office says that it is waiting for the toxicology report for those three cases. Officials say its always a bad idea to buy drugs off the street from people you dont know because in this case you never know what you are going to get. Im jeff bush in San Francisco, kron four news. Pam Police Arrest a student at pinole valley high school. On suspicion of giving other students. The anti anxiety medication xanax. Last thursday. Police were called to the high school , after teachers and staff noticed several students acting strangly. Officers found that seven students. Were intoxicated after taking xanax. Five of them were taken to the hospital. Police were able to identify the 17yearold suspect. And arrested him today. New at 11. Police are looking for three men suspected of robbing a home in san jose. It happened last thursday. Along greenpark way near kingspark drive. The incident was caught on surveillance camera. Police say, the homeowner arrived home in the middle of the burglary. The man got into a fight with the suspects. He was then shot by one of the men. The victim was taken to the hospital. And treated for non life threatening injuries. Investigators believe these suspects are associated with several other home burglaries. The swarm continues. Just over an hour ago, at nine forty eight. The san ramon area experienced a two point one earthquake. Which was followed by another just minutes later. And the most significant today. A three point two quake around 5oclock. Seismologists report. The san ramon area has now been rocked close to a whopping 450times. In the past two weeks. Just today. More than 25 small earthquakes hit there. Which is the center of a swarm of earthquakes. City leaders. Say they are aware they live in an active seismic area. And say they are prepared. we have an Emergency Operation plan in place.
