They are the victims of a drunk driving accident when police say 35 year old brian jones left the livermore wine country festival and got behind the wheel of his corvette at almost twice the legal limit. And so we ran and tried to help them emily the family was gathered to celebrate a birthday and first communion when police say jones was speeding around this bend jumped the curb and hit the mother and daughterkilling them. A 6 and 7 year old boy also family members were alo hit by debris after the car crashed into the backyard before finally coming to a halt on a neighbors porch. There is no end to it it just doesnt and unfortunately. Something has to be done about drinking and driving because it is tragic. Emily jones is out on bond charged with two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while under the influence. Morales leaves behind a ten year old son, 22 year old daughter and a husband. Family friends say they are heart broken. And is mentally distraught right now. It is to be hardreally hard emily the family is apparently upset that he is out on bond. We were also able to confirm that jones works for tesla and that he is also a resident here in livermore and he will be in court on may 5th vicki thank you emily. Just a tragic incident. Police have said that speed was a factor in the crash. And we are learning from the community that this isnt the first time Something Like this has happened. Neighbors tells us cars have crashed in the apartment complexs parking lot before. And cars often speed along the corridor. We checked with police. Who tell us they are aware of the speeding problem and regularly send patrols to this area. A series of earthquakes rattled the east bay today. We have had five since the most recent just about an hourandahalf ago that was 1. 5 vicki a water main ruptured in walnut creek this afternoon spewing water into an intersection roughly four miles from the epicenter of the earthquake today in concord. The quake occurred at 3 13 in the afternoon and roughly an hour later, the east bay municipal utility district was notified of water leaking into the roadway at the intersection of north main street and geary road in walnut creek.
