i don't know the numbers, but they have been impacted by the fire. >> what area is in the most danger right now? >> the fire started near highway 20 and highway 53, burning in an easterly direction. so the initial area is the spring valley community and then anything that would be to the east of that is of concern, especially as quickly as this fire has grown in size. >> and i understand that we have two fires, perhaps even three burning right now? >> correct. there is one small fire up in the hopland area that was about 10 acres. fire crews have been able to stop the spread of that fire and are working on mopping it up. we do have another fire, the walker fire, which is about 10 to 12 miles from the wildfire we are dealing with, about 400 acres. >> julie, we're looking at images right now of what looks to be a burned down building. do we have count of any buildings destroyed, how many so far? >> you know, on the wildfire, i have a report of one structure being destroyed by the fire. i don't know if that's an out building or home yet. we're waiting to get that assessment. and i know the crews are working hard to keep the fire out of other structures up there in the spring valley area. >> and i understand you've got help coming from surrounding areas. how many firefighters are battling these blazes? >> we've got about 300 on scene of the two fires that are close to each other and another almost 75 or so on the other fire. but because we are having such significant fire behavior in that area, very hot temperatures and fuels that have not burned in a long time and are very thick, we've got at least another 50 engines from calfire coming, as well as additional crews, infinite command team, aircraft back first thing in the morning to assist with that fire. >> okay. we don't have any reports of injuries at this point, do we? >> no, we don't, thankfully. we encourage residents in the area, if you live in the area, be prepared. it's a good time to practice your evacuation plan. know what you're going to do. gather your stuff up and be vigilant watching what's going on in the news and to the fire itself. >> are you able to get a handle on this? is there any containment, or is this raging out of control? >> it's still out of control at this point because there is such a broad area that we're trying to cover. and again, it's a very densely packed area, lots of brush, lots of timber as you get back into some of the higher areas. so it's going to take a little while. and again, we haven't had a lot of rainfall and it's been very hot. >> we understand, of course, it's very dry, very hot out there. any idea how the fire started? >> no, we don't have any idea. we will have investigators looking at all three of those fires and how they were started. right now, we're focusing efforts obviously on protecting those communities and getting some containment on these fires. >> okay. is the weather working for or against the firefighters? >> the high temperatures are going to be a challenge because they also affect the fuel. we're lucky we're not seeing any significant winds right now, but we don't know what the weather could do tomorrow. so we are monitoring that and will watch it and, again, we can't control the weather. so we have to work with whatever we're given. but right now, we're not seeing a huge impact other than to the temperatures. >> okay, and any idea when you might contain these fires? >> no, that's going to be a process of, you know, getting that percentage, that line around the entire permitter of the fire before we can breeze easier. we're committed to being there and firefighters are going to work throughout the night and through the next few days to get that containment. >> julie, thank you so much for taking the time to talk to us. julie hutchinson with calfire. brian? agency says the oil company has so far been cooperating with investigators. they are being kept away from the fire's point of origin because cal osha, who is leading their own investigation into the accident, says the area is still unsafe to enter. >> it's the remaining flammable materials still in the system that they have to make sure are out or not going to cause vapor to come out and cause a hazardous environment. >> reporter: even then two, more members of their own team, a structural engineer and an air monitoring expert, are arriving monday. they will do a separate assessment, looking
