High winds across the bay area today with more on the way sunday, the Bay Area National Weather Service is forecasting wind gusts more than 30 Miles Per Hour in San Francisco and Half Moon Bay in santa rosa. Its predicted to be about 27 Miles Per Hour. And firefighters are concerned. For us with the increase in wind speeds. The lowering lowering of humidities, as well as the drying of fuels, any sort of mean wildfire could rapidly spread under conditions like this. Santa rosa fire Marshal Paul Lowenthal says with the vegetation being so dry. Theyre concerned with fires pushing down the north bay hills. Theyre asking people to avoid any activities that could spark a wildfire like bonfires and to secure any loose items that can blow away like halloween decorations. We dont want those to get blown out into the street. Off properties are potentially into power lines and power could become an issue in more ways than one. Pg and e put out a warning that these wind gusts could cause some power shut offs for safety reasons to about 5800 customers through monday in our areas sonoma and napa counties could be affected specifically north of calistoga along highway 29. The Alameda County Sheriffs Office sees 10,000 fentanyl pills and 12 pounds of powdered fentanyl. Deputies say the pills were disguised as oxycontin. They say the drugs were used on there on their way, rather oregon, but were stashed at home in hayward. Alameda county firefighters released video today of a rescue after a car crash. But low 70s for santa rosa and even hayward at 72 degrees, Half Moon Bay, those 62 degrees with downtown San Francisco in the upper 60s. So few degrees of warming there and very seasonal temperatures and your 10 at 10 outlook. Were going to see a slight chance of showers next weekend for your halloween weekend. And were tracking widespread upper 60s from burlingame, but san bruno, a little bit cooler in the mid 60s. The san mateo and san carlos trying to flirt with 70s. But 69 degrees Mountain View 65 degrees for your sunday afternoon high. So a lot of sunshine to start in and the day calmer winds speeds as well with winds in our valleys out of the northwest as well around 15 Miles Per Hour or less. San jose, 68 degrees with santa clara in the low 70s at 72 degrees. And were going to track temperatures for east bay valleys in the mid to upper 60s. Pleasanton at 67 degrees with livermore at 69 degrees. We should be in the mid 70s this time of year for livermore and conquered. So were going to be about 5 degrees below average with temperatures there in walnut creek, only warming up to 69 degrees. But temperatures in the north bay, a mix of 60s and 70s a little bit milder for those of you in vacaville and fairfield, mid 70s in Solano County. So very comfortable temperatures there could see light scattered showers arriving as early as saturday night for the bay area. But it looks like next weekend storm set to impact most of the bay area by sunday morning. Widespread light scattered rain and then were going to notice hit or miss showers by sunday afternoon until we dry out and clear out by your sunday night. But from now, until then, though, were going to track warmer temperatures on monday, warming up into the mid 70s for our warmest inland valleys and then gradually cooling down by next weekend with that approaching storm. The Emergency Declaration came from powers to put in place dozens of executive orders over the years on matters ranging from special funding directives to mask mandates to stay at home orders. In a statement the governor said the state of emergency was an effective and necessary tool that we utilize to protect our state and we wouldnt have gotten to this point without it with the operational preparedness that weve built up and measures that will continue to employ moving forward. California is ready to phase out this tool. Democratic Assemblymember Matt Haney supports the move. Hospitalization rates are down. Deaths are are way down and weve been able to build up our Hospital Capacity still of our staffing vaccine capacity so that we can respond without needing Emergency Powers as those powers soon go away. The governor is asking the legislature to step in and pass laws that will allow lab workers to solely process covid19 tests if necessary and nurses to continue providing covid19 therapeutics.
