Police tell me longtime commissioner greg to feels relieved knowing someone is behind bars after he was attacked on the streets last week. 70 yearold former San Francisco commissioner greg chew outside the most goni center in San Francisco last week who had been assaulted and pushed to the ground to suffered nonlifethreatening injuries. Sunday Police Arrested 34 yearold San Francisco resident derek carr. Be your be charged with battery, aggravated assault and elder abuse. Police now trying to find a motive behind the attack. Investigators will be attempting to interview the suspect and see if they can determine whether or not race or bias was a factor in the attack sunday Community Leaders also held a rally to defeat and asian elders as attacks against asians have soared over the past year. Others who live in the most goni center speaking out about crime in the neighborhood. I get scared sometimes which i never used to have this feeling. Well, demonstrators gathered today in San Francisco to rally against asian hate and theyre calling on San Francisco police and elected officials to 2 more about these attacks and hate crimes against Asian Americans here in the city. This comes after a 70 yearold woman was also beaten and robbed last week. A separate march also took place today in north beach at Washington Square in the east bay. Now where the owner of an Oakland Cannabis store says that he is devastated tonight after burglars stole around 100,000 worth of stuff from his business. This burglary happening early yesterday morning at Craft Cannabis in the 2500 block of willow street. The owner says that he saw it all unfold from the outside and he had to stay away from those suspects because one of them had a handgun. Oakland police did respond to the scene, but by the time officers arrived, those suspects have already fled. Police say that 3 vehicles were used in this burglary. Suspects also cut power off to the building and then forced themselves into it. Oakland police are continuing to investigate tonight and theyre asking anyone with any information to give them a call. This is new video from the Brentwood Police department showing officers pursuing a wanted burglary suspect. Police say 31 yearold Alexander Hernandez attempted to flee from officers last week. Officers then found hernandez down an embankment off of highway 4 and sand creek road. He was safely taken into custody. No one was injured. In the north bay. Now Santa Rosa Police making multiple arrests and impounding several cars following a sideshow that attempted to change locations. This happened on friday just before midnight where officers say they responded to the area Petaluma Hill and fraser avenue thats close to where the Sonoma County fair is actually taking place. Policea say they found 20 cars driving in that intersection recklessly with about 60 to 70 people watching what was going on. Participating in the sideshow. Then left minutes later after police arrived. But then a half hour later, police then got another call of a sideshow that happened about a mile up the road this time about 100 people hanging out watching what was going on. Police say that as they were impounding those vehicles and took a couple of hours and during that process, spectators and threw coins and rocks and Water Bottles at the officers. But there were no reported injuries on the peninsula. And man is under arrest tonight after police say that he exposed himself to a little boy in a park. Palo alto police arresting 59 yearold rupert taylor. Fox in that incident. This happened at El Camino Park on friday. Police say that hes a father was his son when he went to the park and saw his son go over to a table and talk to taylor fox. The father then says that he saw taylor foxx, private area exposed and that he was touching himself. Ali was talking in that 4 yearold boy taylor fox eventually ran off, but he was later arrested by police and now facing a series of charges. Now to the mckinney fire burning in Siskiyou County today. Crews reporting a low humidity and dry conditions there as those temperatures in some spots hitting triple digits for people have so far died in this fire which began on july. The 29th its burned over 60,000 acres, which is about 94 square miles. Thousands of people have been forced to evacuate from the area. Nearly 90 homes have been destroyed. Cal fire saying today that over 3500 personnel are right now assigned to this incident. And tonight, its just 40 contained. This right here is pretty awesome. Taking over downtown fremont for the festival of arts kron fours camila barco takes us there. Organizers say this is the largest free street festival west of the mississippi and on sunday fremont festival of the arts returned for the first time in 2 years. About 500 vendor set up their camp downtown fremont as they returned for this years festival of the arts put on by the chamber of commerce. The festival offered 4 miles worth of activities and entertainment. Were only just like arts and crafts booths, live music street performers and loads of food and drink options. Organizers say this year they had food options from almost every corner of the world. The nonprofit the night of columbus serve their own specialty, dealing with sandwich is a type of portuguese sausage. Alex marina with the group says its the variety of food and activities and makes 3 months festival of the arts special. Theres a lot of offering here. You know, if you want different types of food, they have all the food. They have all the arts and crafts out here. A lot of vendors and i think its just a great place to be back in the event attracts thousands of people every year, according to the festivals website, more than 13,000 glasses of wine or enjoy during the twoday event. 3,000 volunteers are needed to running and theyve raised more than 11 Million Dollars in the festivals. 37 year, history that supports nonprofits, their local nonprofit. It also caps out of pocket drug costs for seniors on medicaid to 2000 a year and extends expiring subsidies. The package also keeps the president s pledge to not raise taxes on those earning less than 400,000 a year. Democrats say this bill, hes also going to reduce budget deficits by over 300 billion dollars. How speeds are Speaker Nancy Pelosi releasing a statement about the bills passage saying in part, quote, today is a victory for americas families and for our planet. The house will return and move swiftly to send this bill to the president s desk. Proudly building a healthier, cleaner, fairer future for all americans. The Inflation Reduction Act is also including 4 billion dollars for drought relief in the western united states. California senator Dianne Feinstein plotted the new funding saying its critical for western communities experiencing historic drought. Cowgirl creamery fans visited the bar and shop and cantina at Point Reyes Station sunday after hearing the location is closing after 25 years. Good friend of mine from San Francisco. She posted on her instagram that cowgirl creamery was closing in. We have been here before and weve got about a good excuse to come back up to find ray is an maybe one last time that koegel creamery. We came up here and visited the cowgirl creamery and up here. So what is coming up before they close. The announcement was posted on social media this month. A statement from cowgirl creamery reads in part, quote. The decision to close our Point Reyes Station location was incredibly difficult to make, but it was a necessary decision for the sake of the overall business. There are significant Environmental Constraints and logistical challenges with operating a retail shop in such a remote location. The point raise shop is where it all started known for crafting its own artists and shes using organic milk from local cows. Convicted killer Scott Peterson return to court on thursday. This could be the last chance for petersons lawyers to prove that he got an unfair trial when he was convicted of murdering his wife lacy and their unborn child. His lawyers arguing juror misconduct interfered in that original trial. If the court agrees petersons murder conviction could be overturned. Why did you pick lacrosse back when you are a senior in high school . Yeah. You basketball across the recruiting season, it is at the same time. So young age are really small and i still have the same competitive drive to have today. So i knew that, you know, in order to play the game at the highest across going to be probably the more viable option. So. When it came time to season you know, across about boy, decided to play some across dead of just because i knew about were going to be tougher out for me. Being 5, 420 pound, the freshman in high school. So, you know, its like that its still the same competitor. I want to compete at the highest level. So across what the book, the more viable option at the time right now. You go to loyola maryland. You have a decorated career. There you go on to be an all American PatriotLeague Player of the year 3 times when the torch cain, which for those you dont know here on the west coast is like the heisman of lacrosse. So to say the least, a very decorated lacrosse player. During those 4 years at loyola. What was your relationship with basketball light . Yeah, for me personally, i never put a ball fastball has always been a part of my life and i know its going to play down the line. It just didnt know when that opportunity will come again. You know, i think after my freshman year of college at loyola, i realize that i really got the edge and i think get rid of it. I decided to look into it. I realized, and be able to play if youre a basketball so i kept in my back pocket. Im to be honest. I didnt talk to rick ross that the entire all play basketball the entire summer. Baltimore. I keep my hand in it so that when the time came ready to go. So basketball was never really put aside. I just, you know, during the season, you know, to put the ball down a little bit. But for the most part, i knew this going to go a long term. This guy finished his career as the alltime leader in assists and second in points. And hes saying during offseason he wasnt even playing lacrosse. That will kind of athlete. He is now pat. With your time away from ball when you started playing again full time. When did you realize that you are still a really good player and you could possibly take this to another level because theres one thing. Look, i love hoops. I go and i play pick up all the time. But im not like, hey, maybe i can be a pro. When did you realize im pretty good at this and i have a chance. You know what . I and bought more. Theres theres so much talent in dmv area that i knew the guys i was playing again for the top tier guys playing oversee playing in the and i was, you know, it felt like i was my own if not more than so. You know, i would meet him playing for time yet. And i you know, i have full confidence in myself when i put my mind to something and get it done. So for me, i think really with those summers plan again, real competition and then, you know, had the opportunity to play your northwestern and although we didnt win it as much as i would have felt they learn a lot about myself and my game. What was going to be needed for me to get to this next level. So lot of different people, a lot of different places along the way. But the confidence is definitely always been there. And now its about to to make it happen. What is it about lacrosse that has helped you as a basketball player. As i said earlier, you, you led the ncaa and assists all time and you set people up and i know that it la crosse, you need a lot of athleticism, especially when you play on that side of the field. How has some of that help you and your basketball game without you even realizing it into your out there . Yeah, a lacrosse about bar very similar, i know across its a smaller game. So people arent as aware with it. More of it. But the more you youre watching, the more you really break both came down a lot of the same tactics that use a lot of the same space in this not talked about football coaches that ive take some place from. You know, chris, colin, when they read, you said that you to take some across as far as you can go behind the going across system, the outbound planes will be taken from something that they did there. So the games very, very similar. I think that politically, i think you only get better to play multiple they both go hand in hand. I think each of them help me with the other one throughout my career. The golden state warriors, obviously theyre coming off of a championship crazy championship pedigree. I dont even have to go down the list. We know whos in that gym. We know whos on the roster. What do you think you can bring that team and how excited are you for this particular opportunity to go to a Training Camp with this type of organization. Im fired up. Yeah. I mean. Call like it is. They dont need anybody come in and change anything. They need people to come in compete. Keep a level. Where is that . You know, thats really, really high bar here. I feel like theyve done a great job of bringing guys and around the 4 guys that they have to keep that level up. You know, there was a guy like
