Thousands of travelers to evacuate San Francisco internatioaal airport officers at the airport got word of the threat around 8. 15, last night. They then evacuated the International Terminal and shut down the sfo. Bart station wreaking havoc on those travelers plans. Police completed their search of the terminal just before midnight and in the end removed several suspicious packages. The airport did tweet this morning. Normal operations had resumed. Service at the sfo. Bart station was also back up and running. Police say they did detain a man for questioning, but they have not made any arrests so far. Now the latest on some fires that have been burning here in Northern California and Yosemite National park crews there are gaining ground against the washburn fire, which is now 37 contained. It has grown another 100 acres over the past. 24 hours, park Officials Say residents of the community of wawona can return to their homes beginning tomorrow morning. The famed Mariposa Grove of mature sequoias will remain closed for now. But that fire has been contained in that area. Officials are asking people who do not live in that area yearround to wait at least several days to come back. Crews say they are making good progress. Meanwhile, in extinguishing the marsh fire in pittsburgh, firefighters are flooding that area trying to put out the fire smoldering deep in the pete there. Multiple pumps were added overnight. Officials say the lower areas are filling in. Well. Theyre estimating millions of gallons of water will be needed to attack this fire for about a week. And right now we are seeing its still very poor for specifically for those of you in antioch, better air quality along the east bay shoreline. And even most of our valleys in the north bay and south bay as well. Just because of that cool sea breeze influence. But were seeing some northwesterly wind so that offshore flow creating some haze right there along our bay area coastline. So moderate air particles out there over that this evening. But lets take a look at air quality tomorrow because we are going to notice some much needed relief, a cooler and stronger sea breeze out of the west, 30 miles per hour. Less is going to give us improved air quality for most of the bay area. Still going to range of that moderate to poor range, though, unfortunately, freeze contra costa counties until they get a full handle on that marsh fire. But lets take a look right now at conditions out there in the bay area. We are noticing the return of that marine layer over downtown San Francisco. Cooling us down to 58 degrees and conquered. So 15 to 20 degrees above average today. So thats why youre still in the 70s out there. Concord in livermore, finally cooling down into the 70s. He spent much of tonight in the 80s and 90s. Concord, 79 degrees, mid 70s for livermore. And youre about 30 degrees cooler than downtown San Francisco at 55 degrees out there right now. Thanks to that cool sea breeze and the return of karl, the fog. Thats eventually going to make its trek across the bay into the east bay shoreline radar for out there right now. We are going to show an increase of that marine layer and also bring us some patchy coastal drizzle along the coast and even for parts of the east bay shoreline. But mainly for our bay area beaches, we could actually pick up some traces amount of rain, but then but natures natural ac going to make its way into our inland valleys. Cooling us down about 5 to 10 degrees from todays daytime high. So relief is in sight. Temperatures overnight low to mid and upper 50s mid 60s. For those of you in antioch with low 60s for san jose. So mild temperatures there. But highs tomorrow, widespread low 90s for east bay valleys. So definitely going to notice 5 to 10 degrees of cooling there. Those of you in santa rosa cooling down into the mid 90. So the warmest city in the bay area mid 60s along the coast. So seasonal temperatures for San Francisco peninsula coastline and mid 70s for oakland and hayward, san jose at eightyfour degrees. So lets take a look at our 10 at 10 outlook because as you were still going to be in the low 90s through monday, some relief on tuesday. But seasonal weather doesnt arrive until wednesday. Authorities say that the powerful storm caused a 21 vehicle pileup on the interstate. This is near the border with wyoming. The National Weather service says the dust reduced visibility to less than a quarter of a mile. Its still unclear tonight how many people were injured. The crash shutting down traffic on the interstate, but it has since reopened. Meanwhile, flash flooding outside of denver, colorado killed at least 2 people. Authorities say a woman and young girl died. Their home was also destroyed. This flooding took place in the glen haven and Crystal Mountain areas outside fort collins. Some roads were closed, but residents should be able to walk. And then out to the mother was another flash flooding event in arizona. Monsoon weather devastated a community there. Based on the latest numbers. San francisco has about 32 of cases statewide. The city is set to receive about 28 of the vaccine allotment. And some people tell me they dont think thats enough. A little over 4,000 vaccines goes like a slap in the face. The San Francisco department of Public Health says theyll be getting 4,163. More doses of the jenny has Monkeypox Vaccine. This is after sfdph requested. 35,000 doses from federal supplies. We are one of the top cities in the country now experiencing monkeypox.
