Firefighters cleaning up after a fire at a former Auto Parts Store in san jose. darya kron fours averi harper is live outside the building. Averi . averi firefighters are cleaning up after battling a twoalarm blaze at an abandoned building in san jose, fire officials said. According to san jose fire capt. Mike van elgort, at 3 02 a. M. Fire crews were dispatched to an abandoned building at 1064 s. White road. The building is the former location of an oreilly Auto Parts Store. According to van elgort, the active twoalarm blaze is fully involved with heavy fire, and fire crews are expected to be on scene until later this morning. There are no reports of injuries and the cause is under investigation, van elgort said. Further details were not immediately available. darya thanks averi. Weve just learned that the former chairman and ceo of fox news roger ailes has died. darya James Fletcher is at the breaking news desk with the details. james flash word of his passing came from his wife this morning. She released a statement which says, in part, quote i am profoundly sad and heartbroken to report that my husband, roger ailes, passed away this morning. Roger was a loving husband to me, to his son zachary, and a loyal friend to many. Ailes resigned from fox news, the network he created, last july after former Network Personality Gretchen Carlson filed a Sexual Harassment lawsuit against him. He was given a 40 million payment to leave his post as chairman and ceo. The cause of his death is unknown. They stabbed the victim multiple times before running off last night. The victim was taken to the hospital but there is no word on their condition this morning. mark a man who police say is responsible for a series of car fires in the east bay is set to appear in court today. 36yearold james bishop the third is being charged with over two dozen counts of arson. Police say he set several cars on fire in lafayette, brentwood, walnut creek, and pleasant hill. Authorities say the fires became more frequent starting in april. But date back to the beginning of the year. A representative for cornell says that the grammywinning singer passed away last night in detroit, where soundgarden was performing. The band had just begun a us tour in april. Family members who were visiting the elderly couple found the two dead inside their home and called police. Sheriffs deputies say the two people died from gunshot wounds. A tire flew off a car and smashed through the windshield of another car on the opposite side of the freeway, killing the driver. It happened yesterday afternoon in santa clarita. A recent triplea study found that over a three year period. Road debris caused more than 200 thousand crashes. And 500 deaths in the us. darya a dog is rushed to the vet after eating meth. A woman in san diego says she came home to find her one yearold golden retriever mix shaking his head and pacing wildly. She rushed him to a vet, who said the dog was high on meth. The woman says her backyard is near an alley where people are known to drink and use drugs. She says its likely someone tossed the meth into her yard to get rid of it. Ecigarettes are tied to an increased risk for Bladder Cancer. That is according to a new study from vanderbuilt university. And protests broke out overnight in response to the verdict. Tulsa officer Betty Jo Shelby was found not guilty yesterday of firstdegree manslaughter. Terence crutcher was shot and killed in september and it was all captured on camera. Shelby testified that she fired out of fear because she said crutcher did not obey her commands and thought he was reaching for something in his suv. Prosecutors argued that shelby overreacted and pointed out that crutcher had his hands in the air. Crutchers family is outraged over the verdict. Jameson Animal Rescue ranch in the napa valley says it has teamed up with two other north bay non profit groups. They are offering a combined 10 thousand dollars for information to solve what appears to be an animal cruelty case. Three months ago a woman discovered the mutilated remains of as many as a dozen dogs left in bags off columbus parkway in vallejo. Mean, the murder of 12 to 13 dogs isnt an accident thats definitely, um, something that was done deliberately. darya the Solano County Sheriffs Office manages Animal Services in vallejo. A sheriffs spokesperson says this case is still open. mark San Francisco is planning to go hightech at its 22 parking facilities. The city is going to upgrade the parking structures over the next three years and add features such as license plate readers. It will show who comes and goes. The citys Task Force Wants to base a ticket amount on a persons ability to pay. Instead of setting the same cash amount for everyone regardless of income. They found traffic tickets in california are some of the highest in the country. Four Million People in the state have had their drivers licenses suspended because they could not afford to pay the fines. The Task Force Recommends that the city offer Community Service options and flexible payment plans. It was in the tree for several hours before officers used flash bangs to try to scare the bear down. darya after 11 hours the bear finally climbed down. And climbed right up another tree. Wildlife officers left the scene, hoping the bear would come down in their absence. At 3 30 this morning, the bear finally climbed down and will be returned to the wilderness. mark a woman in florida goes to use the bathroom. And finds an iguana in her toilet. darya and she wasnt sure what to do. So she called 911. Fire rescue came to the home to get the iguana out. mark they say it likely got in the toilet through the pipes. The lead detective who oversaw key parts of the lamar investigation. Was recently found to have given false testimony in an unrelated murder trial. That could lead to a mistrial for garciatorres. In that other case, the testimony of sargent herman leon, lead to the conviction of two men for a 2009 murder. A judge has now ordered a new trial in that case because some of the statements made by the sargeant were flase. And in light of this revelation. Defense attorneys for Antolin Garciatorres are now looking to discredit his testimony in the sierra lamar case as well. Sargent leon is the one who linked garciatorres to three unsolved attempted kidnappings in morgain hill. The defense is arguing his false testimony in the other murder trial casts lingering doubt in this credibility problem with the officer and then use it by saying if it was an issue in that case maybe its an issue in this case or at least have been given the chance to cross examine the officer. mark legal experts say if the information about the detectives false testimony is anot permitted in the penalty phase. A Law Enforcement official says a car that plowed into a crowd of pedestrians in times square killed one person and injured about 20 others. The official told the Associated Press that the driver was taken into custody after the thursday lunchtime crash and is being tested for alcohol. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation was ongoing. Police do not suspect a link to terrorism. Television images taken at the scene showed people being taken away on stretchers.
