Weve got sunshine come down at the bay bridge approach on westbound 80. And robins got an easy job this morning. As for the sunshine we see this get more and more intense into the day. It wont be swelteringly hot itll be comfortable even in the inland valleys. Our current hour right now a mix of upper 50s and now some low 60s so the morning sunshine beginning to do its things. By 11 00 still sunny with temperatures approaching the 80degree mark, mid60s by the bay and by 8 00 we should hit our peak temperatures. And you have to get pretty far inland to find the low 90s. Most in the mid to upper 80s but a few spots in the low 90s. Lets call it low to mid70s along the east bay shoreline. Ill leave you quickly where temperatures are right now. Live at the oakridge mall where the accident happened. Reporter here in the parking lot at oak ridge mall were in front of many of the restaurants here at the mall and the scene still roped off. I want to give you a closer look. You can see the crime scene tape is still up, about an hour ago mall security left the scene. They were guarding it overnight. Im told at 9 30 last night Police Received a call saying sa boy had been struck by a car. We dont know the circumstances of the accident. But we do know that that boy did die as a result of that accident. We dont know his age or if he was walking with his parents at the time. We have tweets from people who witnessed it and the they say the boy was young, younger than 10years old. There are markings on the ground from last nights investigations. The driver is being cooperative, theres no word if alcohol was a factor in the crash or if charges were fired in the crash. I asked security about the details of the crash, when they are going to open up the ropes here. Because there are some cars that are stuck inside the scene here. No word on when people will be able to skpom retrieve the cars. Were working to get more information about police about that driver. Ill be back in the morning to update you. Two san mateo officers accused of groping a woman last week. The driver says the situation escalated and the officers ended up searching his car and groping his female passenger. Officers say they believed the woman was under the influence of drugs so they searched her. But according to the lawsuit an officer put his hands in her pockets and groped her twice. In the south bay a man who was critically injured in a deadly double shooting this week has died. We have video of the shooting from tuesday afternoon this happened near south 11th and East San Antonio streets. Police found two people who had been shot one died later that die. The second died yesterday. Investigators havent determined a motive or identified any suspects. Tuesdays shooting was the second deadly shooting in just two dmas san jose. Two days in san jose. Ab American Airlines flight makes a rough landing in florida. We have video of the plane on the tarmac early this morning. Officials say the plane experienced a mechanical issue with the landing gear while it was landing. Passengers described what happened when the plane hit the runway. We landed there was a loud boom. Plane started shaking like crazy. And then we just got stuck on the tarmac for the last three hours. Fire trucks, cop cars, the whole night it was a real disaster. As you heard that man say, passengers had to sit on the tarmac for three hours. 118 passengers were on board, nobody was hurt. Wildfires are burning across the state. This fire burning northeast of sacramento has now grown to more than two square miles. Heres the video of the rugged terrain with at least 400 homes evacuated because of the fire. Its burping 50 miles northeast of sacramento along the american river. There are 2600 homes businesses and other buildings threatened. 1900 firefighters are battling the blaze including the u. S. Forest services elithe lee hot shot crew elite hot shot crews. Containment at 20 . And firefighters contained this fire near the mexican border. It started about two weeks ago and was contained last night. Five homes and 11 out buildings were destroyed. And two charred bodies were found on wednesday. Autopsies are planned on those two. Investigators say a couple that lived in a nearby home was reported missing by neighbors. Firefighters quickly contained this grass fire in the hills near berkley and oakland. This is the fire started around 4 30 yesterday afternoon and was contained within in about 30 minutes. Its 7 11 and happening now Richmond Police are looking for a man who beat a 94yearold woman in her compartment stole a gift she in her apartment and stole a gift she got from president obama. Shes the oldest fulltime u. S. Park ranger. A man broke into her apartment in the middle of the night. She woke and saw him in her bedroom going through her jewelry box. She reached for her phone to call 911 thats when he started punching her in the stxas dragged her down the in the face and dragged her down the hallway. He took several, and made off with a coin she had been given by the president. It was the memories and the events that led up to that. And so shed like to get that coin back. The suspect is only described as a man in his 20s with a thin build. And the white house actually says that theyre going replace that coin for her. The antioch side looks great. 20 minutes to get from hill crest out to the 242. 680 south looking good. Checking in on the south bay minor crowding out of san jose into downtown. Its off and on to the gaudalupe parkway. And those of you traveling through hayward stay out of the intersection of hathaway. Some of those traffic lights may still be out so be extra cautious, if you run into a dark intersection treat it as a four way stop. Now back to the news, mark. And this weekend plan for delays if youre taking bart. Its shutting down for 4th of july weekend. The closure starts at the end of service tonight. For track repairs and general maintenance. There will be free shuttle busses. And plan for delays of 20 to 40 minutes. Normal service will resume in time for the morning commute on tuesday. San Francisco Police department recruits are learning to use new equipment that will be added to their uniforms. Theyre wearing body cameras that are designed to record their interactions with the communities. And the cameras will be turned on for all traffic stops and all arrests. The new acting police chief says that the technology is going to help build trust with community and he also says its going to benefit new officers and the people that they come into contact with. People on both sides of the camera tend to behave better when these things are deployed. I think itll help the officers as i said to the Academy Officers earlier. This is going to help them more than it will hurt. 99 of the time theyre doing the right thing for the right reasons and this will be another thing to back that up. The cameras will be placed in a doing station and the video will be uploaded to a server. Videos will be saved for up to two years depending on the type of incident. Police in daly city asking for help to find this person who robbed a gas station. It happened on june 21st at a gas station on john daly boulevard. Officers say he came in with a semiautomatic weapon, pointed it at a store employee and demanded cash from the register and got away with money. Hes drained as a hispanic man in his early 20s a slim build and a go tee. Happening today gas prices could drop. Its set to go down more than 0. 02 per gallon today. California one of three states to lower the gas tax. This comes after investigators are looking into how refineries are setting their prices. Theyve issued subpoenas to several oil refineries.
