The fires burned more than 7 square miles combined. Right now, the fires 15 contained and evacuees from more than 500 homes were allowed to turn back to their homes yesterday. Just over 300 homes are still under evacuation. And in Santa Barbara county firefighters are hoping to have the fire contained later today. The fire is now 93 contained. Closer to home, rides open again this morning after a grass fire forced a few rides to shut down yesterday for a time. The fire started about 1 00 in the afternoon across the street from the fair. Smoke from that fire then spread to the fairgrounds and made breathing difficult for the kids and parents alike. Six rides had to be shut down for 20 minutes until the air quality improved. The high court has just blocked president obamas immigration plan to a 44 tie. The president s plan would have appealed to those living in the u. S. From deportation. But i dont think it is needed i think it is reactionary legislation and that is never a good thing. Reporter the assistant public defender says this legislation is the wrong approach. He defends the judge and believes that twitter having to register as a sex offender for life is a harsher penalty than any sentence. But that means you can get jobs, not going to live we want to, not going to go to parks. Reporter the da says he is working with two legislators to get this past. He also says that he has been in contact with the victim in this case and that she is completely supportive of the change in law. We keep hearing about a problem that seems never ending.
