We were watching this moderate rain offshore slowly work its way to the east. It has now finally come other the peninsula and affecting burr lgana, san mateo and points up to the north. This will continue to move on through. Heavier rain on the way for the east bayshore line. Open right now in the clear san leandro as well as were leeing the wet weather moving over the hills now. So weir wet from concord all the way down to san ramon. Dublin, pleasanton, livermore dealing with light rain at the moment. Were seeing san jose, most of the city all right, but we do have a light rainfalling for good bit of the Silicon Valley this morning. Thats leave view on Storm Tracker 4. Temperatures mild. The westbound ride has steadily been building up. Backed up now beyond highway 24 from 24 its a 28minute drive to get through the backup this morning so that theres nothing friday light about this commute. Even the 880 approach is starting to climb the ramp for the westbound ride. And for your trip to the san mateo san mateo bridge, highway 92, james looks at the weather. I look at the traffic, and its starting to slow as the drive times are moving up now to 15 to 16 minutes for the westbound ride. And the Richmond San Rafael bridge, which had been enjoying easy traffic is no longer. Slow in all of the lanes here approaching the toll plaza such that its starting to back up 580 in the westbound direction. All right. Well take a look at the traffic maps now as we update some drooef times for you. East shore freeway up to 18 minutes. A little slower. Starting to see some slowing on 680 south into walnut creek, but west 24 looks good. 680 through the San Ramon Valley is fine. Continuing problems here on road westbound before the ge plant backs up the traffic nearly to vineyard and the isabel in the westbound direction. South bay freeways still not bad at all. Some slowing here on 280 at the 17 interchange. Some slowing in the Almond Valley on northbound guadalupe parkway. An easy trip under 28 minutes novato down to the golden gate bridge. Thanks, george. A dutch man has pleaded guilty to charges of selling Illegal Drugs for millions of dollars in bit coins through the web site silk road. The 22yearold was arrested in august at the miami airport after flying from europe to meet with coconspirators about spinning off his silk road operations. Federal officers say he faces now to 40 years in prison, 5 million fine, plus he has to forfeit his 3 million that he made. New this morning, check these out. New this morning, theres a dramatic rise in measles across the country. The centers for Disease Control and prevention saying california reporting the highest number of cases. Almost half the cases in the nation are here in our state of 58. The cdc saying many of the california cases are a result of people visiting the philippines, which is experiencing a very large measles outbreak. Health Officials Say there are 134 outbreaks and 129 cases here in the u. S. So far. The cdc say the last time there was a reported death from the measles in the u. S. Was in 2005. For close to 50 years farm bureau in concord has been a truck route connecting willow pass sxroed clayton road, a path just over a mile long, however, the rules have changed. It is no longer a designated truck route. In fact, the signs were everywhere. No trucks over three tonings allowed. Now, to put things in perspective, a standard pickup truck can weigh as much as 6,000 pounds or three tons, so commercial trucks like these are too heavy. To make the new rules enforceable, there needs to be ample signage alerting truck drivers, and it seems the city covered their bases because on willow pass road and concord road, there are these signs. They are the same signs that the semidriver pased and is about to turn on farm bureau road. For if record, the rules do not apply to garbage trucks or school buses. Also delivery trucks are exempt if making a local delivery. The shortcut through roads are no longer permitted. The city says the trucks have been wreaking havoc on the roadway, and its unsafe for pedestrians. There is a 30day grace period where concord will be issuing warnings. I spoke to one resident whos glad to see the changes have been made. He said the trucks make his house shake like an earthquake. Now, the fact that the limit is three tons may cause a problem with some people who have pickup trucks that are one pound over the 6,000pound limit, but well have to see how that plays out. If you push in, richmond, san rafael bridge, moderate rainfalling and moving its way toward val val. Right now its coming down pretty good for east that shech of 101 and 580 right through san rafael. The peninsula also seeing moderate activity out by the airport. I just checked. Sfo not reporting any delays right now for arriving flights, but i find that almost hard to believe. The clouds are so low and the rain is coming down Strong Enough that you think at this point theyd be reporting delays. Well watch that for you. Anyway, the rest of the peninsula also seeing a mix of light to moderate rainfalling at the moment. Thats what were dealing with right now. James, were watching an accident on interstate 80 just reported here at mcbride starting to slow the ride in the westbound direction backed up toward hill top and the richmond parkway off ramp, but the overall drive time is still pretty good here for the east shore freeway. 18 minutes from heshg lees to berkeley. Thats about ten minutes less than what it might otherwise be on a normal weekday, but still if not cleared quickly, this could this could change and turn into a hot spot. And for your ride to the bay bridge, its been a steady build on the backup here that reaches now into the mcarthur maize. Even know we started out great this morning, every day this week, weve seen bay bridge backups into the macarthur maze. New this morning, we now have a picture of the santa clara teen who stou stow aid way in the wheel well of a Hawaiian Airlines jet and survived a fivehour flight from san jose to maui. On sunday, the 15yearold boy originally from somalia climbed a fence and got on to the tarmac at san joses International Airport waiting six to seven hours to climb into the wheel well of the plane with hopes of going back to somalia to visit family. Even though the teen made it to the trip without oxygen and in sub zero temperatures on the flight, he still could face some medical issues. What we know right now is he is in stable condition in honolulu. And happening right now in the south bay, police have shut down efrl roads. They are searching a neighborhood in san jose for two robbery suspects. Kron 4 is live there in san jose. So where is this exactly . Im right here on the corner of Rocky Mountain drive and mount kenya drive. Its really down mount kenya that theyre searching. Its a very long block. At least 15 homes on each side of the street so theyre going from door to door with dogs. Theyre going from yard to yard search for these two suspects. They do believe that maybe they have they are armed so they are dangerous so if anyone does see anyone, they should just try to report it to the police officer. If they see somebody in their backyard or stuff, but theyre out here, and theyre going down this street. Theyll be coming back this street. Now, this all originated from possible Armed Robbery over at some Convenience Stores not too far away from here. Theres report of seeing the two men searching into or looking into cars and so they believe they fled on foot. So this is why they had to lock down the area right away and just basically go from door to door searching for those two suspects. All right. Thanks a lot. A new social media warning for parents this morning. Somebody has been getting kids to post inappropriate pictures on instagram. Kron 4 has the details. New this morning, were going to be talking to Pleasanton School administrators, this after someone was trying to get students here in this district to share inappropriate pictures of themselves on a social media site. This is what we know right now. Authorities at the School District sent out a warning to parents and students, this after someone solicited pornographic pictures on a social media site. The site is instagram. Administrators and police are trying to track down who is doing this. It is believed that the person is from out of the area. The district is not saying right now how many children have been contacted or if any students sent any pornographic pictures to the person. Administrators say that theyre reminding students to be careful with their social media sites. Here in pleasanton, theresa, kron 4 news. Its always nice to have good news. Happening right now, Free Dental Service underway tat Solano County doors opening up two hours ago. Live there with thousands of patients sieng up for free dental care, jackie. Good morning, mark. You can see inside exhibition hall at the Solano County fairgrounds. It was so much in demand that hundreds of people lined up in the predawn hours outside in the cold in the rain to get this free dental care. Now, heres some video from a little bit earlier. This is a sponsored event by the cda, thats the California Dental Association. They hold clinics periodically around the state. They say this is the fifth one theyve held. Today and tomorrow, its a twoday clinic, they hope to service as many as 2,000 people over that twoday period, which means they can service about a thousand patients per day. Now, its no cost to the people who come in. All you have to do is come in and register. Its on a firstcome, firstserve basis. If youre somebody whos interested in getting this, we should probably get down here relatively soon because the numbers are growing. There are 1700 volunteers, almost 500 dentists will be partaking in this. Theyre doing everything from simple cleaning to extractions to root canals. That gentleman said he was on Social Security, and he had no way to pay for the dental work that he needed done so Something Like this is invaluable. This is our freeway camera showing you wet roads leading in and out of San Francisco, and basically wet conditions everywhere around the bay this morning. Lets take a quick look at the Storm Tracker 4 imagery, and well see weave got a healthy mix here of moderate light and showers. San rafael has been seeing moderate rain here for at least the last half hour with the cells continuing to psh out to the east. Richmond, youre now seeing the front edge of that vallejo shortly after is going to start seeing some heavier rain, venetia, too. That cell is continuing to track off in easterly direction. San francisco, light rain there. Its south on the peninsula that were seeing some of that heavier rain. Were talking burr lgane. This rain is tracking in your direction. Be ready for it. Itll intensify over the next half hour. San jose, not bad, actually. Its pretty spotty in the south bay right now. Out to the east, weve got our dublin pleasanton interchange with 580 and 680 coming together. The Amador Valley and San Ramon Valley as we take a look to the north here. Walnut creek, heavy rain headed toward you over lafayette right now. Looks like that heavy rain is coming up over the hills. Things will intensify here before too much longer. Oakland, alameda, san leandro, most of your east shore communities right now from about the bay bridge south only seeing light rain at the moment. Take a quick look at temperatures right now. Were in the low 50s, maybe mid 50s in some spots. Well warm it up only maybe 6, 7 degrees. Our highs today will be right around 61, 62 degrees for our warmest locations. The heart of it actually will start to move other the bay area this amp, and with it will bring the possibility of a thunderstorm or two so we could see some lightening. And the bay bridge backed up once again this morning all through oakland on 580 westbound, and theres a problem at west grand with, i think, a person Walking Around the lanes so traffic slow heading up to the park even. Its backed up to about a 30minute drive from highway 24. At the san mateo bridge, westbound its wet, yes, but not very slow. 15 to 16minute drive times, and for the Richmond San Rafael bridge, backed up now and wet here, but the slow traffic is mostly in the lefthand lanes, though its slowing on 580 westbound. I want to go back to the developing story were following out of san jose. A neighborhood on lockdown this morning started at 6 00 a. M. More on the search for the dupe the two robbery suspects. Unfortunately nobody was found and the man onto a shut down about 50 minutes ago. You saw officers coming off the street on mount canyon drive very disappointed faces because they have spent at least four hours trying to go house to house and yard to yard searching for the two suspects. I spoke to the lieutenant earlier and he explains how we even got to this neighborhood and why these shut down the neighborhood in particular. We have the first robbery at 430 over on whites road and road and then we reported suspicious person in the neighbor that called in, to mail in the area casing cars. Turns out there description matches description of the suspects in the first robbery. Officers went out and and make contact with the two persons immediately fled on foot into the neighborhood and during the foot pursuit learned of the second robbery in the 711. The officer was able to have a visual on that and lost track. That is why they started the shutdown of the whole neighborhood in search from house to house. The guardian possibly another childs grandmother reported the man was peering through a window out in kindergartners who were out in the patio next to several kindergarten classrooms. The witness said he had his hand down his his pants and touching himself inappropriately. Once the man notice, he walked off campus and the guardian notify the notified the principal. That was on wednesday. We asked the District Representative why some parents are just finding out today. We are working with something that was alleged.
