The ntsb has wrapped up all of their interviews with the four pilots involved in this crash. The aircraft still sits on the runway. You can see planes coming and going past that eerie sight. It will be sometime before the remove the wreckage. They still have to go from the flight from the sea wall to where the plane landed. The pilots have been forthcoming and very cooperative. One key thing theyre looking at at this point is the auto throttle. They wanted of it was actually at that at the time, it is one of the things that help the pilots land the aircraft. The flight was coming in too low and too slow at approximately 36 mi. Per hour slower than they needed to be. The runway is still down at this time and impacting traffic in and out as at all. I get a chance to speak with the encouragement and this is what she had to say about clearing the runway. We know this is any hardship for the airport and we appreciate everyones patience. We are going to work and do our work as expeditiously as possible to make sure we get it right. Once we release the runway, the airport has to make sure that it is safe and make any repairs that are necessary before it is reopened. I do not know when the runway will be reopened. We do know that debris will be removed over the next several days and be taken to an off site location where investigators will continue to the threat. It will take weeks if not months to come up with a conclusion. Coming up at 730 a m. We will find out why those pilots did not go through a drug and Alcohol Testing immediately after the crash. The story here is that the auto throttle was armed and not necessarily activated. Anything they can to help the investigators with their top. James does the airport have cameras trained on their roadways to monitor flights that command. James as an expert, we learned from the ntsb that the pilot said they said the auto throttle into their targets speed but for whatever reason the aircraft did not respond. The speculation is they did not do the final step to engage and activate it. If that does turn out to be true, would that explain why the engines were at idle just seconds before the crash when they tried to do that go round . That would be consistent. What remains to be seen is a boat the data reporter and a voice recorder and what was being discussed on the instrument panel. James at the airport itself, you all have the instrument landing system but the understanding is that the runaway system was not operational and has been operating since june 1st and that offers pilots etools to la. It is the Standard Practice that the system shut down . That it was being shut down for a special project. All the airlines have been notified for months. Futurecast 4 shows by 12 00 haight temperatures still in the 60s for the coast line, warning into the 70s for places like oakland and hayward and san detail and redwood city. Take a look at that board on your screen indicating warmer spots that means temperatures will already be in that eighties, nineties will start to feel when so few spots and 90 degree territory by 3 00 p. M. Today. It is going to be a sunny day but we will see an increase in cloud cover but later on tonight. By the 8 00 hour, expect more clout in temperatures mainly in the 60s and low 70s.
