Cal fire said it is burning toward lake county and threatening a geo thermal plant in the area. Coming up at 5 30, well talk live with the cal fire spokesperson about this fast moving fire. Meanwhile, in napa county, a fire is burning off silverado trial. 250acres have burned here since it started last night, this fire, 50 contained. Crews are working to protect homes in that area. Reporter im here on loma vista road down the way from a home out here where the residents have left because fire crews are out here in force trying to make sure thy get the upper hand in this fire. The bart board approved the Union Contract agreement except for the provision dealing with six weeks family leever paid. This is the world gas station on clayton road, the sign could not stand up to the strong wind tonight, fortunately, no one was hurt there. Cleanup efforts continue this evening. Crews still working to clear roads from fallen trees and branches and to restore power. And the storm has proved deadly. Two deaths in oakland linked to the severe winds, Oakland Police say the deaths were reported within a half hour of one another thursday night at two separate locations. We came out this morning to assess the damage of yesterday and found that this was all gone. Reporter officials at the concorde Public Works Department said in addition to these weatherrelated incidents, at least eight trees were down. Power temporarily interrupted between parkside drive and clayton road. Continuing our Team Coverage, the severe winds toppled this tree in a neighborhood in walnut creek. It came crashing down on a home and a pickup as you see in that video. Just teen is there live where the homeowners have spent the entire day trying to get their lives back to normal. Reporter pam an the woman that lives here was home when the tree came crashing down. She said she thought it was an earthquake. This is damage left behind even though the tree is now long gone. As we zoom in on the roof, you can see exactly where the branch did damage the gutter is hanging off there and you can see where there are some shingles removed from the tree. The wind pushing that tree right down and look at the mess it left when that tree came crashing down. The 30yearold oak tree hit the truck that was parked in the drive way and branches and leaves were all over the front lawn and you can see the tree where that branch just split right off and fell into the front yard. Late this afternoon, a tree company did come to help clean up the mess that involved several guys with chainsaws and they sliced up that huge branch like they were cutting a piece of cake so they could haul them off and put them into the shredder and then they were off to their neck job. It has been a very busy day for tree removal companies, running from one emergency situation to the next. No one want it is to be like this because there are more accidents that happen. If accidents happen, thats more work for us. Reporter thats a good thing. Thats a great thing. More work, more money. Everybody smiles. Tree company moved onto other jobs. They have a big day on saturday. They are booked solid all day because there are trees all over the east bay that they still need to pick up and clean up. Another tree on Market Street partially blocking the road there and with the wind so strong, drivers are reminded tonight by officials to be cautious. The win also knocked out power across the bay area. Power outages still affecting thousands, pg e working to fix the problem. East bay, more than 4600 customers are without power. North bay, 2700 people do not have power. A dozen people in San Francisco an the peninsula effected and only 12 in san jose are in the dark. Looking at some of our current wind gusts. You can see our camera really still bouncing around at this hour. A wind advisory remains in effect. But the wind has died down into the 20s and 30s, not as many as those 40s and 50s we saw out there yesterday. Heres a look at the wind advisory. Highlighted in blue on your screen remains in effect threw 10 00 tonight. It looks like it will stay breezy after that. Not as gusty as what we saw last night or even right now. But still breezy enough to keep temperatures a little warmer overnight. The wind advisory is set to expire at 10 00. Until then, wind gusts up to 40 miles an hour. After that, we could see gusts as as long as as 25miles an hour overnight. If thats the case, temperatures will not get as cold as they normally would. We are talking 40s and 50s in the north bay, well talk more about that, plus rain for your thanksgiving coming up in a bit. High winds fueled wildfires and a fire in napa forced mandatory evacuations. This was taken by firefighters last night. The socalled silverado fire in napa has burned 300acres and is 50 contained. Firefighters are working to contain a fire near the guisers in so no, maam ma county. That fire is only 10 contained. What firefighters are doing today to try to make sure another fire does not start. Reporter take a look at this white tape. It said evacuated a lot of the residents here had to leave because of a fire up here. Fire crews did what they could to try to get the upper hand. Look at this video, you can see them out in force. Out there, putting out hot spots. It was a very challenging day with big wind gusts dragging smoke around, making it difficult to breathe and see. A marine county judge sentenced this man it death today. The 79yearold was convicted by a jury back in august for the murders of four women, all with matching initials in their first and last names. New developments in the alleged hate crime against a black student at San Jose University. A fourth student has been suspended for his alleged involvement in that hate crime. The fourth student could be facing misdemeanor battery and hate crime charges. Three other height students have been charged.
