meteorologist brian van aken is live in our weather center with a first look. brian. also ahead-- a woman's car is swallowed up by a large sinkhole. her dramatic rescue. next. and: a live look at ahead of tonight's fireworks. we have live reporters stationed across the bay area. to bring you all the major fireworks shows. join us tonight on kron 4 at nine o'clock for that. and we'll be back with more news, after the break. and new tonight at six o'clock. a dog is recovering after eating a meatball laced with poison. while out on a walk in a san francisco neighborhood. the latest on oscar's recovery. and the search for the culprit. that's tonight on kron 4 news at six. headlights northbound -- commute direction 680 near the hwy. 24 interchange that fast-moving wildfire in arizona is now 45 percent contained. the one that killed 19 firefighters - almost every member of an elite team called the "hot shots." some of the people who were evacuated are being allowed to return home tonight. but fire officials say they're worried about people who had refused to leave. they haven't been able to reach every area yet to check on them. the fire has burned 13 square miles and destroyed more than 100 homes. a woman in ohio says she still can't believe this happened to her. the huge sinkhole that opened up at a busy intersection -- swallowing her car. she was rescued - and has lived to talk about it tonight. but you can see from these photos just how frightening this had to be. that car is at least ten feet underground. the car was not only in a very deep hole -- it was starting to fill with water. look at the size of this sinkhole. imagine driving home on a quiet afternoon in toledo.and ending up inside this. pamela knox says she suddenly felt the ground begin to shake.and her car - begin to fall. >> "as the car was falling, i just kept calling on the name of jesus, i just kept saying jesus.jesus." >> catherine: a giant sinkhole had opened.leaving pamela trapped inside. >> "it wasn't like boom.it was falling and falling." >> catherine: an outdated sewer is being blamed.notice the water gushing over the car. it's believed the sewer broke -- washing the ground away.and leading to the split in the concrete. >> "water started pouring into the back of the car and started filling up the back seat. and i had to remain calm so i didn't freak out." >> catherine: pamela's husband kenny was standing out the sidelines watching every move. >> "there could have been other cars behind her and it could have been a pile up i call it a miracle." >> catherine: pamela later found out that firefighters were afraid the ground would keep giving away. and she'd never get out alive. they got a ladder in just in time -- gently encouraging her to hurry out.. >> "they were my guardian angels that came to rescue me, i thank god for each and every one of them." >> catherine: and the rescue workers were right to tell her to hurry. this is video taken not long after pamela was pulled out.after more heavy debris fell on the car. city crews are busy fixing this tonight. >> you are going to be reading about this guy this living legend this man from san jose. he was eating more hot dogs than any other man alive! 69 hotdogs. that was in only 10 minutes jolie chesnutt--joey chestnut he has been dominating the competition and nearly a decade and now he has broken his own record. the second place was also a man from san jose with 51 hot dogs. this is held every fourth of july. and the mother of chestnut says that his son can eat hot dogs and they are going to celebrate with a steak dinner. he took home $10,000. if you are wondering?
