Reporter yes, we definitely but we are going to be clear for these next 24 hours like madison just said with another storm system hitting on your weekend, but the storm was impressive. We have seen some impressive snow totals since monday taking a look at those, sugar bowl got 28 inches. Squall valley, 23. Look at that, alpine meadows, 25 inches. And then Mount Rose Ski received 21 inches. This is all from monday through thursday morning. And then mammoth, that is the big winner, 30 inches of snow down there. But we also saw 4. 5 inches of snow in reno itself. And with all of that snow, it definitely impacted the driving conditions around town. The Nevada Department of transportation uses a mixture of salt, sand and salt water to prevent poor winter Road Conditions and it essentially abouts as an antibonding agent and watches Winter Weather very procedures for the procedures and the storms that produce only know events. They use sensors on the roads that give them realtime weather data as well as temperature sensors on the snow plows themselves. The plows track road temperatures as well as current air temperatures. Public access to realtime Road Conditions can always be found at nevadad. O. T. Com. And it is like a bond breaker. You put it there prior to the snow pack developing, and what ends up happening is at the end of the storm, ndot can drop the snow plow and peel off the snow pack much quicker giving a safer condition to the public. Youre right, joe, but unfortunately it is coming too late for hundreds of employees at solar city that is the company that installs solar panels on rooftops. Employees are closing shop in reno and across nevada. Solar city is leaving the silver state following a rate hike decision that increases bills for solar us customers. The company and employees say that decision makes solar energy no longer affordable in nevada that rate hike went into effect january 1. The decision was made back in december, and then the commission argued that the new rate structure is necessary, so customers without solar are not unfairly subsidizing those with solar. The Solar Industry and the states Consumer Protection advocate are asking them to its employees believe the handwriting on the wall. Some say relocation is not on option. What are you going to do . Was arrested for second offense driving under the influence, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license and two felony charges of child endangerment. Authorities confirm there had were two juveniles in the car. Luckily no one in the store or the vehicle were seriously injured. This robbery happened back in august of 2014, to refresh your memory. The suspect held up the cvs at Shoppers Square and then led police ohen a chase. He was eventually shot and killed by the Police Outside the pepper mill. In the process, the suspect reportedly shot a bystander as he was fleeing the cvs store. I checked back with the reno police today, and they tell me they and the Washoe CountySheriffs Office are still reviewing it. But since we brought this up a couple of months ago, the reno police tell me the chief has received the information about several citizen whose did assist in the case and the department does, in fact, plan our viewer who wrote in. He was shot in the case and originally wrote in asking why no one had been recognized. The officer says there will be a ceremony in the not too distant future but theyre still working out the details. In any case, it has not been forgotten about. But when you have an officer involved shooting, these investigations do not move quickly. We will have a date for the ceremony so those who did step up that day do get the recognition they deserve. With this next system, we could see a few inches in the sierra to one inch on the valley floors.
