Here is the whole story. Hi. Im the owner of of a gallery and studio, and im the designer and the artist behind the inaugural trophy for the arizona bowl. This piece was designed by me and created with my team here in the studios in tucson, arizona. The committee came over and theyre looking at all my work and the things that i do. And someone said, can you make this into a football shape . I said you bet ya. We melt 25 pounds at a time and cook it for 8 hours at 2250 degrees fahrenheit. Once the glass was cooked, we can use it. This glass was formulated to be in the trophy, there is absence of colors. Its clear but thats by design. This piece is one of three usually made to get one, and it will be monitored on a plaque, a plaque with the emblem and the name of the winner. I am very proud to be part of downtown tucsons art scene. Been here for 40 years, moved here from chicago, and tucson has become a hotbed for the glass arts all over the country and the world. Im very proud to be representing tucson because my competition in the 40 other bowls is probably waterford crystal, all the cut bowls and stuff. So this is probably the most unique trophy i have ever witnessed in all the years ive been looking at bowl games. A very nice looking trophy looks, and it will look pretty legacy hall.
