And yet we are next and now here's to reset. And after Dan had animal filling in for Terry to Tommy on a pilgrimage it and Italy I'm happy to be with you this morning we're talking about many things including I'm going to talk about the benefit Haitian about a salon to Katie happening and it's Saturday and Detroit but coming out of show this morning is Mike Aqualina author of the history of the church in 100 objects I have his book here as well will be talking about his book and fathers of the church a dot com as well and Peter sprigs will be honest senior fellow at the Family Research Council and is our is well with just very alarming information on news that parents should be very concerned about just promising this column that was written by Todd Starnes from Fox News white boys could soon self identify as black girls and Delaware basically reporting what parents probably wish was fake news unfortunately for the families reality may soon be optional for kids in Delaware public schools that sound unbelievable that's because it is for the 1st for the last few years families have been shocked that they'd have to defend your dish of biology in places as sacred as restrooms showers locker rooms and changing rooms and now the proponents of his government sponsored make believe and trying to make everything self subjective they're actually saying kids she just identify with what they want to be and parents have no say in it and they want to allow this in schools and you know we know children don't have the cognitive skills or the brain development to make such decisions you could talk to psychologists about that there's been research is saying brains are told to fully develop to 25 years old they get in the state of Delaware they want children to decide whether they're going to be white black boys or girls Hispanic whatever they feel like they want to be. So that's an alarming conversation have a Peter Sprigg says morning as well here and count the connection but on more happier news we've been talking about the beatification of Father salon as Casey. It's going to live broadcast live on e.w.t.n. 66000 people are expected at Ford Field in Detroit course not everybody can attend although people are coming in from globally all over the world to see this math right in the backyard right here in Michigan and a very exciting time because this is the 2nd American born male to be given the title of blasted So it's very exciting he could be the 1st American male boy pale actually to be. Deemed a faint if he is God willing canonize to so it's a very exciting time and then they have the National Catholic registry has a story about this Catholic at it as well so there's great information e.w.t.n. Has been covering it they're actually going to have a documentary and the 17th which is the day before the bed if occasion father salon is Casey and they're going to air the beatification live on the it will be a tan so you'll be able to watch it for those who can't attend and we I'm sure there's going to be millions of people probably all over the globe watching this the blood father's a lot of Casey beatified this Saturday they benefit cation is a math at 4 o'clock Eastern Time expected to draw thousands of Catholics the bit of occasion is remarkable moment in all of our lives and want to celebrate father salon it who's compassion an attribution to miraculous cures have been dear to him and to those in Detroit and crossed the world that's from Father Michael Sullivan provisional minister of the capital in Franciscan province of state Josep he says we welcome as many as possible to be part of it not unlike the Silverdale mass celebrated by I think John Paul the 2nd this too will be history making liturgy the dedication of others along with Casey is an important grace for the Church of the Archdiocese of Detroit and for the whole community and to permission to Catholics and to all of the power of grace to transform one's life and. I'll continue to read this but I thought share a quick story the other salon a story gives you an ability to really evangelize the faith just sharing his story I was talking about this and the ice rink where my daughter skates and I was talking to Catholics in fact there were a couple women from the Jewish community and I was talking about how I'm going to be advocation very excited about it and the women are like well what is a saint and who is this father to Linus and it was just a wonderful conversation about who he was and about the church and about we were able to talk by Jesus Christ in the Catholic faith in Christianity and father salon is enables us to evangelize the faith by sharing what he did in his ministry and what his bit of Kasia is all about to people who may not know the faith at all and so it's I think I encourage people to really learn about him or read about him and be able to just share his story and it's such a simple and wonderful way to share the faith with other people but just by showing a father's a lot of cases story the miracle attributed to Casey was received by a woman who prayed at his tomb and Detroit was instantly cured her of her lifelong incurable genic skin disease that's recorded to the mission Catholic among thousands of healings a tribute to Father salon is during and after his lifetime Pope Francis recognized the authenticity of this miracle required for the fire to be elevated from venerable to Black said actor after extensive study with a Vatican Congregation for the causes of things including panels of doctors and theologians the woman was visiting friends in Detroit and stopped at father's salon assisting to pray for the intentions of her family and friends after her prayer she felt a strong urge to ask for the friars intercession for herself too and still a received a permanent visible healing now I don't know she's the woman it's going to actually get to be at the mass but we just talked the coronated the chair of the Committee of the b. Education and the woman who attributes I. And of this is the exact moment but there is going to be a woman who was healed through prayers of the intercession of father so long as to all be carrying his relics up to the altar during the night in the mass so that that's an exciting time as well father priest director the father solace case the center says the miraculous nature of her cure was a verified by doctors in our home country and Detroit and Rome all of whom confirmed there was no scientific explanation that a blessid coincidence or perhaps not Father slowness himself died of a skin disease in 1957 so this one is k.c. Beatification this weekend at Ford Field in Detroit if you cannot make it you can watch it on e.w.t.n. Live broadcast is 4 to 6 pm Eastern Time it's a very exciting time and during a really important time to bring your aunt intentions and prayers during this wonderful mass that is very historic for Michigan and for the country right now we have to get to the news. Remake of the movie Ben-Hur very exciting I am having his latest book a history of the church Wayne funny and a 1000 objects thank you so much Mike for joining us this morning I think you have an even at that you are very prolific person you get to a lot of writing this is really impress them and I love the blocky have great pictures in here as well what inspired this pop the history of the church in 100 Objects Well I'm a history buff and I wrote this book with my daughter she had also it's 3 bucks. It's just a project that we could we could do together and it would be it would be fun and we kind of would appeal to a lot of people because because I think people today don't know history and they would like to know history but their experience of history is pretty negative it's just an experience of memorizing dates and maps back and I school and we wanted to do it in a different way we wanted to tell stories and we wanted to show them interesting pictures and we wanted to surprise them with every chapter and I think we accomplished that in this book you know you do you have great adjectives and here I was how did you go about picking them I mean there are so many there's the Silver Star and that's why I have friends but how did you go up picking these particular objects. You know when you tell the history of the church or the history of the world for example because these 2000 are pretty much the same thing you know we're talking about God God activity in the in His creation over the last 2000 years. So you have your major events that you want to discuss the events in which the world turned really and and and and you know the stories and so what we did what we tried to do is think about those stories and how can we find an unusual angle into the stories often you hear the stories told as as kind of ticks about great men and and how these great men change things but I think that pretty often the story is turn on how anonymous people a known people. Really contributed to the history of the church in profound ways you know through their holiness through their everyday lives and through their participation in these great actions that God was working in the world you know and I know anytime you go about writing a book or you know I come from a journalism background you're always learning aiming you're right you learn what did you learn from this experience you in your daughters you undertook to this history book and I not Jack Well we learned lots of little things about about every event that we that we chronicled here but the big thing that we learned is that very often it was these ordinary people who who took part in in the end the actions of their times and made a big difference and so that's the the the message that we wanted to convey through the book that history doesn't just take place because of the actions of kings and generals and because of and because of weapons and because of famous works of art it takes place because. Of the everyday actions of people like you and me that's how history moves forward that's how God accomplishes his will through our fidelity even though nobody knows who we are God knows who we are and God knows what we're doing and God knows what he's doing through our lives you know actually have a chapter here and a picture of the Holy Grail I mean they've written movies about the holiest the Holy Grail and I've got a movie. So tell me about this expanse this chapter that you talk about the Holy Grail when we talk about it in an unusual way there was a there was a surge of interest in the holy grail in the in the high middle ages and really what that marked was the beginning of a popular literature that was written for the laity suddenly there was a growing population of lay men and women who could read they were they were getting that kind of education they were getting that kind of training and there was a hunger for reading popular literature with the with the legends of the Grail did was they turned that hunger toward a better object they these people were filling up their hunger with which junk literature with with with with Bad Romance novels and so that the literature of the Grail really turned their imagination toward holy things toward redemption toward repentance and it was kind of a it was kind of of a subversion of literature at that time it's an interesting period in history and we tried to treat it in an interesting and unusual way. What you have. A piece from one of my father's favorite saints in St Francis of Assisi my dad my dad loved him and his prayer and you have his tunic and here he talked about his tunic and here yes yes and you can see so much of his life in that tonight yeah it was it was patched more patch than tonight yeah. It looks like a quilt I think that tells a lot about him about his life. But again you know the it's the objects that really make the chapter you know we have chapters with pictures of Pistole a pistol in the pill and a pair of shoes a mechanic's wrench Iraq you know all of these these ordinary things these unusual things that that made history. Why add jacks I mean I you know I had a book and I got this is so clearly never had a thought about the history of objects in a plant sent to the state but why why share that's why the objects why it's important for us to understand this because I think that for many people for the world in general Catholicism is a religion of God You know we add sacraments that involve the top of the world you know bread and wine and oil and water and we have relic you know relics that are a taste a glass and then put in a gold relic Querrey we have monuments we have all of these things that that we have preserved down the ages as prominent for our tradition or for our saint and and people really do associate the visual can dribble things. With Catholicism so we wanted to tell the story of the church through these things Annie do such a great job I mean they're so made as a stark peaches and then there's just pieces like a rosary and what that means they kept faith I mean you have historic pieces that as sketched by think John of the Koran and then you also have a rosary just to explain what a rosary is yeah yeah well they didn't think of our history and in the figures of our history and we did want to tell the whole range of stories from the small to the great and then back again. And what a convention I mean a lot of people like for and since they come fashion I mean I've I haven't seen a conventional in probably 20 years. I don't mean I mean here I was talking about that leave out badly like I haven't seen a conventional 20 years yet in it but here you know what you learn from this process in terms of that you really want people to understand the importance of sharing any stories in its history for yourself. Well I think we have a natural fascination with our own roots you know a lot of people are really into genealogy and they had a. Paid a lot of time today and a lot of money to this and they do all this travel so they could find their deepest roots while we talk about the history of the church it's not just an academic It's a point it's not something we're going to be tested on but it's our deepest roots are deeper spiritual roots where did I come from this is why people are so fascinated by the Dead Sea Scrolls and any archaeological discovery like that that seems to to show where we came from as Christians it shows our past and the thing about the Catholic faith is that when we look to that past when we look to how Christians were practicing the faith in the 1st century 2nd century 3rd century and the 14th century we can see a continuity the church in the 2nd century looks like my parish today you know it had the same Sacramento life it had the same hierarchical authority it had all of these marks that I associate with the Catholic Church in my own time so there's a certain reassurance we get from looking at history Cardinal Newman said to be deep in history is to cease to be a Protestant that was true for him we're going to get a lot of people we're going to take a quick break I can find that can continue our conversation about you about the history and the church in 100 Objects daily that I mean one. Of the coming of I cannot create I don't understand why I. Can do anything in. The church so unwilling to regular church to break sources Mary and I can. Really. Just suffering and death we learned how much God loved us for identity to descend to humanity and humanity in the poorest circumstances demanded great love and great sacrifice and great humility It also gave us a great model whom we could and should imitate on our life's journey Jesus is the embodiment of the Beatitudes and the norm of the law he commanded us to love one another as I have loved you this is the Stanton and this is beyond the order of matters when it with the catechism if you get joy father John Ricardo's good to teaching in preaching in the past his new book starts now is a preview in his inspiring incisive way Brother John addresses the obstacles we all face of becoming mature disciples How do we learn to forgive do we come back here and understands our free how do we brush of the Lord What others and surrender our lives to God only become so he stayed by day older and minded Ave Maria radio dad let the store tell that they Maria radio that led under the store to. We were lead to camp again action for the anti-family here selling infantry to try me on a pilgrimage and Italy he has published hundreds of articles and favorite He's apparently periodicals such as 1st things crisis National Catholic Register the phrase Columbia and I are sending a visitor he is who we're talking to this morning Mike actually no doubt there are many bumps including the book I have in my hand a history of the church of 100 Objects and I just read the chapter 80000 treasures curls which I did not know existed like well before you put on that habit as a Carmelite you have to cut off the long flowing curled end and I guess the family saved these and there they are so you know we wanted to tell the story about the revolution in spirituality that went on at the turn of the century in the you know it specially the early years of the 20th century because I'll see to it that this girl who died young and left behind an unfinished testimony to her spiritual life and it really did rocked the Catholic world it changed the way people look at life how they pray and and it inspired all of the advances in spirituality all of that the new movement stand on a lot of the new religious orders that were that were founded in the 20th century so so yes she is she did important in those curls signify something I mean they're gorgeous they're just Peter had hair outside St tragedies she's known as Little way became the invention she wished to be a special technology and Kami accommodating a great diversion very modern crowd and she was the saint of the little ways you know just making little little sacrifices throughout her day to change people's hearts Yes yes without a doubt and there's so many wonderful stories in here and when I love about the book Mike is that it's such a quick find a read it really is it's a in. It is really an interesting read and it's a quick read well thank you you know in almost almost all other languages the word history is the same word as the word for story you know so history is supposed to be the stories we tell you know in in in our country it seems that we've turned it into this this esoteric academic discipline and we've made it boring and that's unfortunate because people really should be in touch with their history people want to be in touch with their roots you know. Our memory of history is what makes us Catholic what makes us Christian because ours is a historic faced our Lord didn't just bestow a mythology on us you know like we have in the Greek and Roman religions you know he didn't do that no he entered our history at a specific date specific time in a specific place you can find it on a map you can locate it on a timeline and you can associate certain stuff with it you know that's why we have a number of things from the Holy Land because they're associated with the life of our Lord so this is why history can be told in objects Christian history can be told in objects and Christian history can be claimed by ordinary Christians it's not just for academics it's not just for people in ivory towers it's for you and me you know I said earlier Cardinal Newman wrote that to be deep in history is to cease to be a Protestant that was true for him to be deep in history for a Catholic is to be deeper in your own heritage to be deeper in your own face you know you through me of anything I am flipping through this book Mike I can tell you threw me off when I came to the chapter on the pill and you know tell me why you did that and I'm reading and I understand my town tell our listeners why included that well because the sexual revolution is an important chapter in the history of the church you know we're in the midst of it now we're living in these times and we're watching its effects on the family and on society and on and on just the happy. The happiness or misery of ordinary lives we're watching the results of the sexual revolution in real time so we don't think of it as an important chapter in history maybe but it is you know this is just as important as the battle as any other that the church has has waged in human history and the church has been prophetic in this particular area you know the church has been preaching the same thing since the times of of ancient Rome when there were similar errors regarding sex sexuality and and morals the churches has been consistent in proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ as the only way to happiness they're important thing to me I just love how you kind of just picked historical objects in modern day not Jack's and I was cleaning out my basement the other day getting ready for I think giving up 40 people at my house and I came across a stack of these cassette tapes I don't have a cassette player anymore but I had in my basement. It dates me I bet some of them were even unopened they still had the shrink wrap on them. Like and they were all Christmas music ironically Can you believe that I have a bunch of decks of Christmas music Ok but a test that may you have one any year Catholic Conference of course many people don't have cars that players but what's around that sharing that well I was trying to talk about the the the emergence of the Count the charismatic renewal and the difference it's made in contemporary history so you know to symbolize the renewal I had that conference cassette tape because because with those cassette tapes did was provide a sense of community for people who had this experience but they were perhaps remote from other people with whom they could share the experience they could listen to these cassette tapes from these conferences that were in the past that were at a distant place but they could feel a sense of community and that the tapes really did play a role in in creating that. Sense of community you know as they pulled out Pope John Paul the 2nd really talked about in his lifetime the importance of using the media to evangelize the faith and importance of why we have Catholic radio today and you have been very involved in e.w.t.n. And you talk about a 97 Chapter 97. Page Catholic and television why is that important. Whenever the church takes up any new medium it's important so I do have a chapter on the printing press and what the church did in the early years of the printing press you know I have a chapter on radio and most people don't know that the 1st the 1st patent application for radio was was submitted by a Catholic priest living in Pennsylvania now to talk about well there you go they also talk about some of the radio priests of the 1920 s. And the object of that I use for that chapter is is it is an object that belonged to one of those of those radio priests one of the pioneers of Catholic radio so then later on you know we do get to the. More the more developed media of our own lifetimes like the cassette tape you mention. But also television you know and so so there we have the satellite dishes. That are that are by beauty and radio in Birmingham Alabama the church uses these for good to evangelize to be there in the public square and to be offering the Gospel wherever people are and you Mike actually met very many forms of the media to evangelize the faith very many platforms whether it be through for the print media through you have a chance or radio here through blogs What is your favorite way to evangelize the faith what is your favorite Medion that you have one. Personal conversation now and again when I learned then that that is the key that in the movie that we don't change people so much true true mass media and through one on one conversation you know I think that the function of mass media. Is to to inspire people to have a personal apostolic personal friendships I think that evangelists and takes place primarily through the friendship of one neighbor for another neighbor you know what I love about this but. My case that one of the great stocking stuffer and when people a guy had anything it was a great way to share to people who may be lukewarm Catholics or maybe and a very general area just another campus that you really presenting and there has stored away thank you so much for being with this is a great conversation that I give out your website my. Fathers of the Church dot com Thank you so much the book is a history of the Church 100 ad Jack Stay with us everyone we're going to continue our conversation we come back after the break. Back you can't connection and at and out here when you leave the 1st line of a column and are sent me you know the update in a rundown of the shell and I'm reading with a gas there and then I read a line why place could soon help identify as black girls in Delaware and you're like what is going on here in the State Department of Education is considering sweeping regulations regarding discrimination could allow children to determine their gender and their race. Boy child but as I doubt that coulomb is Peter Sprigg senior fellow at the Family Research Council and appeared to Peter thanks for joining us this morning thank you for having me so you read out line and you are like you've got it down. Right what is going on here and. I read that as a parent I'm like what I have a time what are they talking about so what is going on here Peter what tell us about this column and what is going on here. Well the Department of Education for the state of Delaware has issued a proposed regulation were guarding a prohibition of discrimination in education in Delaware public schools one of the one of the lines in it and I'll read the exact quote it says quote All students enrolled in a Delaware public school may self identify gender or race close quote. And. You know that the self identifying gender is certainly a part of the transgender movement that we've just exploded within the last couple of years. And now I would note there's no qualification here there's no you know having to demonstrate having to have a note from a psychologist or a doctor anything like that it's whatever the student says goes but this is the 1st time I've seen the self identification of race as well and you may recall a couple of years ago when this woman Rachel Dole was all lost her job with the double a.c.t because it turned out she was a white woman posing as a black woman and had colored or scan and kind of made her hair into an afro and so forth and people laughed about that I didn't know anybody who really took her very seriously she became kind of a laughingstock and yet now we have a State Department of Education saying oh yes yes you can do that you can self identify your race as well as your gender it's just it's insane frankly I can't get my head around it's managed to do and there's so many there are so many problems with this. Issue I mean the research will show that human brain doesn't even develop to the age of 25 children don't have the cabin tickets killed to make rational decision. And that's why I always you know when it when it when it when children go to their parents and say you know I want to go through the transition of you know becoming a boy or becoming a girl at 9 or 10 and a parents allow it it's alarming I mean this is just alarming in a very scary time for us all. Yes it certainly is and one of the things I want to point out about the implication of this that I think a lot of people don't think about is. You know that the transgender people are the latest group you know portraying themselves as oppressed and subject to discrimination and so forth but if they're if they are able to go through with this kind of agenda it is the other groups that we've been concerned about discrimination against in the past who are going to suffer so for example look at it with respect to sports the Pentagon as much attention but in the same nondiscrimination. Policy from Delaware just to show have the opportunity to participate on the team that it consistent with the students candor identity regardless of the students assigned sex at birth. If you have a daughter your daughter play sports your daughter could be can teaching against biological nails. And all of that all of the female sports who loses when that happens it's girls who lose yeah it's biological females who will lose by doing forced to compete with biological males on the same dates that they think by the same token their race thing I mean it's not hard for me to imagine that there may be white people who want to identify a minority group thinking that this will give them a better chance at getting scholarships instead aside for minorities. And so it will be people who are actual minorities who will suffer by comparison with people who are fake minorities let's Peter that's what I was thinking of when I read that I thought Ok there's got to be some outrage by people in these minority communities that think this is just not run now you're not black Now you're not Hispanic and now you don't know what it's like any mean so there's he think that there's going to be some people in those groups to stand up and think this is wrong . So that way then we would certainly hope so that's why we're trying to you know draw attention to their sin our friends at the Delaware Family Policy Council they were the ones who 1st noticed this and and sort of publicized it and they're doing their best to get people to contact Now this this regulation it was a proposed regulation it's not final yet so particularly for people in India where although I suppose it wouldn't hurt for people from other states to contact them to to help them know that they're there they're kind of the eyes of the nation are upon them but especially any listeners who may live in Delaware or know people who live in Delaware should definitely make an effort to contact the Delaware Department of Education and let them know that you do not want to policy to be finalized I got to read this actually because this really battered me as a parent prior to requesting permission from a parent or legal guardian and the school should consult and work closely with the student test ask the degree to which if any that parent or legal guardian is aware they're protected characteristics and it supportive of the student and the school shall take into consideration the safety and health and well being of the student deciding whether to request permission from the Turner legal guardian Are you kidding me I mean the school is going to govern whether a parent needs to be and form that there's an issue here or you know a child wants a south identified a school is going to decide but apparently can now or not and it does appear and it's funny that it apparently began to a school may request permission from the parent or legal guardian but if it's not really permission if they need the permission of the student to return to Britain from the parent I mean and of Crazy Eights crazy I mean what is going on I mean I'm reading I'm like what's happening in the world what I mean this is insane and what I want to know is Peter I think you believe that this is that minority with big voices loudly because usually you know a lot of Lakos out in the world. Today in the media and the public it's just a small group of people it's not the majority it's like the people that want to take in God we trust out of the pledge allegiance you know or you know I mean and our money our currency or I you know under God in our pledge allegiance it's usually I minority with a very loud voice do you believe this is true in the situation. Well certainly the those who actually are transgender those who would want to make use of a policy like this are a tiny minority but unfortunately the percentage of the population that has bought into this kind of ideology is maybe larger than even I had imagined I just recently just last week saw that the Pew Research Center which does a lot of polling on social issues and so forth they did a poll and they asked people whether they believe that a person's. Gender is determined by their biological sex at birth. And what a majority said yes it was not a large majority there were I think 54 percent said yes your their gender is determined by your my biological sex at birth but 44 percent of the American public said oh no your gender is not necessarily determined by your biological sex at birth I was shocked that as many as 44 percent of the public has bought in to this radical ideology and said that alarms me even more that alarms me even when I suggested that it really does and we're going to take a quick break and continue our conversation with Peter Sprigg senior fellow at the Family Research Council Stay with us everyone. To try and like my. Catholics ensuring medical expenses. We're continuing our conversation are kept up the general feeling of the treaty. To get rid of Delaware Department of Education keeping regulations regarding discrimination that would allow children. That would allow it children to determine their gender and their race their gender and their race we'll be talking about this with Peter Sprigg senior fellow at the Family Research Council you know I want to ask the question I guess we're doing that right now what do we do when we talk about it I mean we bring awareness about this but what should we share with families that you talk about that 44 percent that say that you know they they don't believe that a child's gender is identified upon birth which is really a larger number than I would ever think would think so what do we do Peter only what do we talk about how do we approach is conversation to make that 44 percent and others realize how you know alarming this is. Well I want to put in a plug for a pamphlet that I wrote and we published it Family Research Council called a Parent's Guide to the transgender movement in education and the subtitle is How To Talk to your children their teachers our school boards and your pastor or your priest about these contemporary issues so. I think that that has a lot of good resources sort of basic information for people educate themselves you can find that on our website at f. r C o r g. And I would encourage people to look to that but you need to remember I also wanted to mention a book I'm reading right now by a friend of mine who perhaps you know him as well Austin roost who is the head of the Center for Family and human rights and he's written a book called stakes science and talking about how the left will always sort of makes these appeals to science and yet. There are a number of issues where their ideology clearly trumps their science and we need to bring people back to the science and say look you know. People who someone who is born with male genitalia male reproductive organs with an x. And a y. Chromosome that person is bale that for scientific fact it is not something that you can change just based on a subjective psychological feeling down to the other thing is the idea that somehow always if your child is engaged in you know is somehow gender nonconforming doesn't conform to gender stereotypes that this means that they're transgender the science actually does not support that on the contrary scientific studies have shown that that a large majority of the people who exhibit gender nonconforming behavior in childhood do not grow up when if left to themselves do not grow up. To identify as transgender adults. The idea that you know that life will scoff at the idea that oh they'll grow out of it but many cater to even a majority of cases they will grow out of it and that you kind of alluded to this to young people not having their brains fully formed until they're like 25 or something happening with a gender is children are not only being allowed but being encouraged can make life altering decisions at extremely young ages and medically you have children who have not entered puberty yet who are being put on puberty blocking or modes could prevent their bodies from going through the natural process of puberty in order to facilitate gender reassignment surgery as soon as they turn 18. It's a really shocking and not supported by any science it's entirely a matter of subjective feeling and ideology and that's what is most alarming I mean people think that when he comes from a Catholic perspective you're stealing your your religious beliefs and that's what take that out of that aisle though that that's a whole nother that's a whole nother conversation we can have that let's take that out and just look at the science in itself right you know there's been you know psychiatrists and psychologists will tell you that there's it's not uncommon for girls that act like boys because they have older brothers there's a lot of girls who are tabloid that doesn't mean they want to be a boy or a mean and so you have to let them go through that process and then they get older but it's not Ok for parents to allow that chilled child to make a decision to start calling themselves a boy and act in trying to dress like a bully and be a bully at 9 or 10 years old and that scientifically we ear point as well taken and people don't want to discuss the science of it they want to discuss the emotion of it. Exactly and I want to mention one thing too that I just you know it's come to my attention in the last 6 months to a year. Ago there are some strange alliances forming on a station because there are actually some radical. And homosexual activists who are. Very strongly skeptical of the transgender movement some of the spam and I say we've spent years you know trying to create safe places for women and now we're being told we have to allow into them yeah illogical nails into our spaces for women and they don't like that and dad and there are actually homosexuals who say you know some of these people some of these eminent boys or the kind of masculine girls would have grown up could be a gay man or wife b. And women as adults but now instead they're being told oh no you know you know that somehow it's more socially acceptable for this girl to become a man and then to become a lesbian or for that for the boy to become a woman then it is to become a gay man so it's interesting that there are even some people on the left in the other end of the sexual revolution themselves raising doubts about the implications of their insurance gendered interesting conversation Peter thanks for bringing it to our attention we're going to let you go Peter Sprigg senior fellow at the Family Research Council thank you let me take out the connection been accidentally telling you to treat attorney and thanks for and Michael anything in any interest all you want to have a blast everyone.
