Its clients strength, stability, security, so we believe in keeping lending standards high. Capital ratios high. Credit ratings high. Companies expected it then. Companies expect it now. Doing right. It is just good business. Union bank. And now, bbc world news america. Reporting from washington im janna ryan. The Syrian Government says its ready to work for peace with the International Community in working against the islamic militants. But its not clear what feels us willing to make. And the funeral of Michael Brown in the u. S. , the teenager whose death sparked days of protest. And we look back on the amazing career of Richard Attenborough. Look him to our viewers on Public Television in america and around the globe. Today, the Syrian Government said its ready to work with the International Community, including countries that had supported the uprising against president assad bang assad. It comes as the white house weighs its options of when and where to fight islamic militants. The town of jakarta Kurdish Peshmerga fighters are working to recapture the city. The courage recaptured the city from islamic militants after a sharp data. Sharp battle. From the frontline of it further south, we can see nearby villages are still controlled. But not here, because those villages were arab, not kurdish. This opposition was firmly in the hands of isis. Now, the kurds have been out, this time without help from american air power. Have pushed them out, this time without help from american air power. You are confident that the fighters from the vatican cannot return. But yes, im confident. Now we are using a lot of tactics against them. Up the border into northern syria, the celebration. Islamic state radicals celebrate after they captured an airbase. This isis video shows how they carry it out to my massive suicide bomb followed by a ground offensive. Its the result of detailed planning. Facing all of this, serious as its ready to work with west and coordinated airstrikes on isis. It is aggression. Back with the kurds, the Islamic State has been brought down here, but it is a small victory. Im now joined by clark kent ervin, former Inspector General of the u. S. Department of homeland security. The white house says no decision has been made yet on whether they will help syria. But we know the situation is deteriorating. How much time does the president have to make up his mind . Not much. The president met with his advisers for much of the day. Given the tone of what is National Security advisor said the other day, that the beheading of the journalist in syria [indiscernible] i find it surprising if in the minimum, they will not order airstrikes in syria. How has it muddied the waters for the u. S. Not to be consulted on airstrikes echo it has muddied it quite a bit. Of course, the u. S. Administration will get permission from the Assad Government before proceeding. But they are in a difficult position. There is no question that there is a temporary covert alliance between the u. S. Government and assad. The greatest threat right now is isis. Its not to say that we should not continually engage to overthrow the assad regime. And as you just mentioned the head the beheading of the journalist, how is this seen as a threat [indiscernible] exactly the same way the joint chiefs of staff that last week. Isis controls a huge swath of territory in two countries, iraq and syria, and they are actually governing. That is something al qaeda only dreamed of. And there are about and there are some westerners involved, about 100 americans. They are savagely brutal, as this decapitation proves. Further, it is the Third Military installation they have captured. They have the will and the desire to attack the general the west in general, and specifically the united states. If president obama approves airstrikes in to see rick, what is the possibility that they will not follow with boots on the ground . My thought is that they wont be followed by boots on the ground. Not like iraq or afghanistan invasion. What is conceivable as there might be a doubling of u. S. Operations forces in syria. I would not be surprised if he stops simply at airstrikes in syria. The president is very smoothest and is very resistant to engage with boots on the ground. And that is understandable. But this is a pretty serious threat. Thank you for joining us.
