Our big story at 10 00 tonight, the of eight women all under the age of 22 used as sex slaves. And this was not happening in a place you would not expect. It was based out of the town of prescott valley. Police there rescuing the women. One as young as 17 years old after getting calls about suspicious activity happening at the home. Trisha hendricks joins us with more. Reporter the two men and one woman they arrested are accused of forcing young girls it allegedly happened at hotels all around the state including this one here in prescott valley. They saw a lot of girls going in and out. So, they, the actual tip was they believed there was prostitution going on. Reporter the police chief says detect is on a county wide Drug Task Force stepped in after getting several tips. They were required to perform sex acts for money and they had been transported throughout the state of arizona and across state lines into california. Reporteol from ohio. Investigators say they were allegedly cut off from the outside world for nearly one year. They were given minimal food, and support. They were not given any money. Reporter investigators found a lot of pot growing. They are looking for other victims and possibly suspects. It is not just trafficking. It is slavery. It is forced slavery. Reporter police say the three people they arrested are crime operation. In prescott valley, trisha hendricks, 12news at 10 00. Now, to a 12news exclusive. Doctors often say one out of a thousand patients who suffers a gunshot wound to the head will make it. So they were extra honored when the icu crew at the Lincoln Medical center got to meet the one surviving patient. Taylor magi met the team who saved his life back on april 14. W with his girlfriend. And that gunshot caused him to lose control of his car and crash. Taylor says the recovery experience has been nothing short of miraculous. I have. I have never experienced such happiness. It is amazing. I feel normal. I feel like nothing happened. Well, magi hopes to go back firefighter like his dad. His step dad, and grand dad. It is hard to believe there was a time that no one thought this young guy would survive. It is a miracle. Thats the first word that came to my mind. We had one of the doctors tell us before taylor was transferred he witnessed four miracles in the icu room he was staying in. Now i feel like i am amazed by the progress, but i knew he had it within him. Although many rounds of therapy are still in taylors future, his family says they are thankful and amazed and proud of how quickly he is returning to his old self. Now, to some more of tonights hot headlines. Two teens are recovering after a possible drunk driver slammed Phoenix Police say the teens ran out of gas. One of them started pushing the car when another driver slammed into them. The hunt is on for three puppies stolen from the arizona Animal Welfare shelter. The suspects are seen waking away with the ten week old cattle dog mixes. The pups have respiratory infections and are at risk if they are not returned soon. Notre dame prep school is suspending the head nolan after parents started a petition asking for action so their kids could take part in a state playoffs. The aia put the school on probation after the coach allegedly had players practice in full pads during the summer which is against the rules. The aia board would have to hold an emergency meeting by friday since it announces the playoff seedings by saturday. One homeowner got the citys water director on tape dissing their complaints on social media. Dozens of residents asked for doing any more than they have to do. She was charged almost 1,200 for two months of water. 46 gallons used in a single month. Anthony, we have actually looked at selling our house because of how expensive is water is. I feel helpless. And from allen hubbard, we were now getting a notice to paid. This is unacceptable. One viewer tried to get an answer. Homeowner alex pucket gave us this tape of dave nye answering his questions. Im not going to say nobody had an issue. But i will tell you a lot of the social media things, people are out there, lets just say people are very selective of what they put and what they dont put. An area served until last year by a private Water Company that buckeye bought. Buckeye officials are telling homeowners they must have a leak somewhere. This is going to sound like a bizarre theft. I was extremely surprised that somebody came in and decided to steal 300 pumpkins. Reporter thieves targeting halloween. Jacking jack o lantern from the farm patch in buckeye. Police with no suspects, no leads. The only witness. So what happened here last night . Reporter refusing to cooperate. You had one job. We probably took a 3,000 loss. Reporter will someone think of the children . And the Pumpkin Spice lattes . But the children. And their halloween tradition. It is sad. We have to scramble to restock the sales. We are open friday, saturday, and sunday. We dont want to disappoint our guests. With how quickly it was done and how many pumpkins were taken and how much they weigh, it would have to drive up and down this area. They absolutely would have had to.
