But we begin with a look at todays eye opener. Your world in 90 seconds. We wont be redirected by borders. The white house is considering attacks against isis in syria. U. S. Air strikes have intensified after militants beheaded james foley. Islamists will dominate over you. The pentagon accuses a chinese warplane of conducting a dangerous intercept in International Air space. They were very, very close. Oh, my gosh. Is that suppose to happen . An unmanned spacex rocket exploded outside texas. A russian convoy returning from ukraine thousand. Now. Described as an invasion. Two american flags are back in u. S. Hands. Two german artists eventually came forward and said they get it. Officials say the flags were returned to the u. S. Embassy in germany. All that heavy rain causing plenty of problems around the country. Like Whitewater Rafting at gone through the building. P. And all that matters. Washington post says it will avoid using the word redskins. They believe it offends many native americans. On cbs this Morning Saturday. It went up in the grand stands. Looking for a golf ball. The grand standing was a nice touch. Captioning funded by cbs thats the way to play a shot. Welcome to the weekend. We also have a great lineup of guests including an iron clef in the chef in the the pentagon warning isis may be plotting attacks on the u. S. Homeland. In an oped piece, joe biden makes it clear iraqs government needs to create a road map to help stop the threat. Biden wrote, quote, is this a fight that iraq with help from america and the world can and we all have a stake to prevent a terrorist group. And the u. S. Is open to the possibility of military action. Julianna has more. Reporter a Senior Administration official told me that this week marks in their words a point of escalation in the fight against isis because much the of the beheading of james foley and the threats against the u. S. That have to be taken seriously. As the u. S. Military enters its third week striking isis targets in iraq, the white house is considering expanding the operation. Deputy National Security adviser ben rhodes. We will do what is necessary to protect americans. And so if we see plotting against americans, we see a threat to the United States emanating from anywhere. We stand ready to take action. Were not going to be restricted by borders. Reporter that could mean u. S. Military intervention in syria where the president has avoided getting involved in the countrys three year civil war. While no new military options have been presented to the president , mr. Obamas top military adviser warned this week that isis cant be defeated without hitting the fighters inside of syria. We dont telegraph our punches. But i think you can rest assured that the leadership here in the pentagon understands the threat posed by this group. Reporter pentagon spokesman admiral kirby said its not just up to the military it requires an International Coalition and strengthening iraqs new government while also providing support to syrias moderates. We are in support of iraqis and Kurdish Forces but were not going to be the only tool in the tool box that can or should be used. Reporter james jeffrey, former u. S. Ambassador, says the danger are isnt new. But this week the savagery hit the world stage. These people are capable of anything. Now americans have seen what happened to tens of thousands of people in the region has happened to an american. Reporter intelligence sources tell cbs news that isis and other syriabased terror cells dont currently have the capability to carry out a large scale attack but dozens of americans and about 1,000 western europeans have linked up with radical Islamist Groups in syria, they have task forces that allow them to travel freely to the u. S. And pose a growing threat. Julianna goldman in washington, thank you. For more we turn to a National Security reporter for the wall street journal. He joins us from our washington bureau. Good morning. Good morning. So weve heard a lot about the seriousness of isis but we havent heard a lot about the strategy. What exactly is the administration going to change if anything . Well, thats what we will see i think in the next week. They are clearly looking at air strikes in syria. The pentagon is tracking isis leaders in syria, theyre looking at training sites in syria, theyre looking at trying to stop the flow of fighters from syria into iraq where the air strikes are going on. And i think thats where were seeing the evolution of the strategy now is looking at syriasyriaear and syria and the strikes there. Theyre trying to cut off funding for the group to deal with the threat of foreign fighters that could come back to europe and the United States. And i think the beheading of james foley changed the calculus for the president. What does that mean for our relationship with the assad regime . We dont really have much of a relationship with the assad regime. It will be an interesting dynamic. Isis opposes a threat to the assad regime so in some ways this could benefit him in his fight against the rebels but its a very complicated battle field as you know. There are some thoughts that president assad has allowed isis to grow so that they could be a counterforce to the moderate rebels. So its a very complicated situation in syria. I think a lot of people it was really a wakeup call when rhodes said basically isis could pivot to attacks on the scale of september 11th. So as weve heard the worst which Extremist Group weve heard of to date could they turn their focus on to the United States . Well,ss its an interesting debate and we havent seen evidence that is the case yet. General dempsey has said he believes they are a regional threat at this point, meaning they really are contained to what is happening in the middle east. But as we saw with the execution of james foley, what theyre now saying is look you started attacking us in iraq now we will turn our focus more on you and i think that is really where the calculus has changed capabilities to do Something Like that i dont think we have seen that yet. Six months ago, the president call theed it a jv organization. Did the white house underestimate isis . It certainly looks like that. Even when isis overtook mosul earlier this year the pept gone was saying look, weve seen these kinds of things, its not a big deal we think theyre contained. Api think they have been surprised all along the way at how quickly and how ably they have taken ground. Thanks so much for being with with all this happening in the world, you wont want to miss face the nation tomorrow morning. Bob schieffers guests will include two republican lawmaker, paul ryan of wisconsin and kelly ayotte of new hampshire. Russian trucks are out of Eastern Ukraine this morning. The convoy crossed back into russia after russia said it had delivered food water and generators. The trucks entered ukraine friday without the permission of the kiev government. Ukraine denounced the move as a direct invasion. A spokesman said the trucks left with Production Equipment to military planes. Now to what the Obama Administration is calling a dangerous intercept and very close call involving an american surveillance plane and chinese fighter jet. It happened earlier this week in International Air space off chinas southeastern coast. Margaret brennan has more. Reporter this armed chinese fighter jet came within 20 feet of a u. S. Navy p8 poseidon aircraft on tuesday. So close, the pilots could see each other. They just narrowly avoided colliding. The pentagon said despite being in International Air space over the South China Sea the j11 fighter jet made five dangerous and aggressive passes. First the jet flew under the slowmoving u. S. Plane, and then flashed past the nose at a 90 degree angle. The pentagon said the jet exposed either belly to make a point of showing its weapons. The jet then went back under the p8 before coming alongside the plane. Flying wing tip to wing tip, the two aircraft were just 20 feet apart. And then the chinese Fighter Pilot performed a barrel roll at close range passing within 45 feet. The risky accident is the latest in a series of Close Encounters between the two country which is are trying to assert their military might in the South China Sea. Similar flybuys happenys happened in march, april and may. But pentagon Spokesman John Kirby said this weeks incident was the most aggressive. The message were sending back to china is that is unacceptable and unhelpful to the military relationship that we would like to have. Reporter the Obama Administration said it has strong concerns that this incident is a violation of international law. Pentagon and state Department Officials registered formal diplomatic complaints. For cbs this Morning Saturday, margaret brennan, the pentagon. Willthere are new warnings about hackers after a day take breach at u. P. S. Stores. Fire crews are continuing to drop water on a large brush fire forcing evacuations outside of honolulu honolulu. Winds are pushing it closer to residential areas. There are no reports of injuries and the cause is still under investigation. In the past 24 hours, the nation has seen its share of extreme weather, broiling heat in the south and rain in the midwest, and in washington state, huge mudslides washed homes off hillsides that wildfires left bare. This weekend looks to be justs sas wild for other parts of the country. Lets find out from ed kern. The story is heat for parts of the country today with very, very hot temperatures and around the periphery of that we can see some storms fire up, as well with some flooding downpours in spots. Look at some of these temperatures for today. A high of 100 in dallas 97 in kansas city 99 in little rock 90 in lexington, kentucky p. We have a heat advisory from missouri and Central Illinois down to northern florida with those hot temperatures. Well have storms fire up in and the slight risk for severe storms in north and south dakota into the area of minnesota. And that could be large hail, damaging winds, and maybe even a tornado in that particular area. And you can see that even this morning. We have showers and thundershowers thpin that area. But were watching a disturbance in puerto rico that we think will develop and perhaps into a Tropical Storm eefr theover the next day or two. Well keep a careful eye on it and it will be a story we will be watching as we move into thes new week. Ed thank you. Turning now to the economy. Fed chairman janet yellen plans to keep interest ratings low. She said the recession made difficult to assess the u. S. Jobs market. At the annual meeting of central bankers, she said that Monetary Policy is not on a preset course. Yellen did not offer any you new information on any Interest Rate increase which some economists expect by mid 2015. Whatever happens on wall street, things are finally looking up for u. S. Home sales. What had been a very modest recovery in the Housing Market appears to have picked up some momentum. According to zillow a major enter threat real estate site, its cheaper to buy than rent in most major markets. Vera gibbons joining us with more. So weve seen this uptick in the Housing Market. Is it still cheaper to buy than rent . It is. About 38 cheaper versus 4 4 last wreer. So the gap is definitely narrowing. But if you look at theneeded for mortgage about 15 versus 2 in the prebubble years. So lets talk about affordle affordability affordability. Who is suffering the most . California markets are somewhat unaffordable. Home values are rising faster than incomes. To afford a median priced home in San Francisco it takes nearly 43 of the average residents income. 14 of homes in San Francisco are considered affordable. So very small percentage. New york looks down right cheap on that list. Compared to california. And they will only go up from there because Mortgage Rates are rising. Expected to go to 5 . So affordability as we know and love it will take a hit. Mortgage rates go up buyerby one percentage point purchasing power goes down bay 11y 11 . So how much time do we have . It should rise to 5 by the end of 2014. But i wouldnt necessarily wait because if youre looking in a not market your monthly mortgage payments could be several hundred dollars more if you wait. So the cosasts are crazy expensive. Is the middle affordable . Yes, the midwest dominates. Kansas city, dallas, st. Louis, some of those markets, very small percentage of your income is going to your housing costs there. So what does the rental market look like . Thats a tough one because home values are going down, but represent rents continue to go up. About 30 of your income goes to rent. Nationwide you have about half of all representnters spending more than 30 in their rent. Again particularly the losshot markets. You have job culture, commutes. This is where everybody wachtss s warrantnts to be, so good time to be a land lord but not necessarily a rent. I have a feeling it was a good thing home depot had strong numbers. Thank you. First up this week the prognosis was not good when two american missionaries were infegtsin inspectfected with ebola in africa. The americans were flown to atlanta for urgent treatment. Now both have been released from the hospital. One of them called his recovery miraculous. Im thrilled to be alive, to be well, and to be reunited with my family. Reporter after nearly three fwheeks weeks in an isolation university dr. Brantly was declared ebhlolaebolafree. He treated me with expertise and yet with such tenderness and compassion. For the last three weeks, you have been my friends and my family. Reporter brantly and aid worker Nancy Writebol were flown to Emory University after doing missionary work in liberia. Doctors say neither one is now con passenger yugs contagious. The medical staff is confident the discharge poses no Public Health threat. Reporter that was made clear by the warm embraces brantly received from his team. A stark contrast to his arrival in the u. S. Earlier this month when he became the first ebola patient ever treated on american soil. While there was cause for celebration here halfway around the world in western africa the ebola epidemic is raging. The current outbreak hassicken ed nearly 2500 and killed 1300. We are hopeful what weve learned here will assist our colleagues in africa in caring for these critically ill patients. Please do not stop praying for a quick he saidend to the epidemic. They went out of their way to hug him publicly. There was so much fear and nothing else i dont think you have ebola than hugging someone like that. So that was significant. And in contrast to africa where people who recover and are on which ostracized. Weve heard the doctor say weve learned so much. What do you think they learned from having two people right in their hidmidst with it . He says they learned things about managing fluids and they hope what they learned can help treating patients there. Also the government recently came out with guidelines urging people to eat more fish. For the first time the fda set a minimum level for pregnant women, between 8 and 12 ounces a week. But Consumer Reports review that had data and found reason for concern over mercury in some kinds of fish. So tease are two different findings from almost the same data. Right. Interesting to me that this is at great fish debate and it will keep going and going. But ultimately a few months ago the fda responded to the data that a lot of pregnant women are avoiding fish all together out of concerns around mercury. So they released a list of safe fish to have and they said all pregnant women should have 8 to 12 ounces a week. On that list was chunk white tuna in cans and that was considered low s did their onwn apthat will sis and said there are higher levels than we thought. So Consumer Reports said have enough fish, but avoid tuna all together if youre pregnant. We reached out to the fda for comments and they told us the consume are reports analysis focuses excloous safely on the mercury levels and not on you thoo trigs al nutritional values. The methodology employed overestimates the negative effect and overlooks the strong body of Scientific Evidence published in the last decade. So what should we be doing . Its a valid point. Fish is actually great it for the developing babys brain. A great lean source of protein. Her curry on thee ri mercury is not good for the fetus brain. I think its really important that we focus on low mercury fish. Its fine to take tuna off the list completely as long as youre not taking fish off the list completely. Focus on salmon tilapia is a great one, catfish cod. There are so many options out there. I keep hearing mercury is not good, but i dont even know why. Wat does it do . One of the main things its a nerve toxin. So you can have robs with sproblems with psychiatric problems. And it could cause abnormalities to the fetus problems in development. So it is something to be concerned about. A new drug helps bald people grow new hair. Pills were given to 12 people with an autoimmune disease that affects about 1 of men and women. Most of the 12 test subjects regrew a full head of hair in four months. But guys were out of luck. There is no evidence the drug will help with the more common male pattern baldness. A university of North Carolina study finds a substantial number of older patients with limited life expect taps city continue to have routine cancer screenings, but the checks for prostate, breast cervical and Colorectal Cancer are unlikely to benefit them. Why is that . This is a great large study. It really zoned in on older people particularly people who had a Life Expectancy less than nine years. They found many of those people were still being screened routinely for conditions which may not really affect them. Theyre more likely to die from some other cause. So it raises the question of how much screening is too much. And when should we say when. Hopefully some of the data will help us zone in on what were using the screening for and what we will do with it. So is there a cutoff point for screenings for these type of cancers at that age . Its hard to make 2450esthese blanket statements. My patients dont come with an Expiration Date like my credit card does. So how do you know when they only have ten years left . I think some of the smart thinking is around not necessarily not doing a bunch of the screening but if you do the screening like you do a psa, not necessarily rushing to do surgery. About 80 of the abnormalities on psa can actually be just followed with what is called active surveillance. So just personalized medicine. Thinking of each patient really as an individual, that is how you can figure it out. All right. Finally, the wall street journal looks at the real reason why we yawn. Researchers say investigation and anxiety make our brain hot. So yawning keeps the brain cool and working at its peak efficiency. And, yes yawning is contagious. It evolved from animals who used yawning as a signal to keep the frup al group alert for potential threats. America was battling for its young life against the british smashed through the capital defenses. President James Madison retreated with the army to maryland. And first lady dlolly madison remained in the white house waiting to her husbands rereturn. They set fire to the capital building, and the library of congress, including its collection of 3,000 books. Their ultimate target the 14yearold white house. Fortunately, a quick thinking Dolly Madison decided to leave her personal possessions behind but not before saving the full length portrait of george washington. The first lady escaped just before the british ransacked and set the first residence ablaze. The fire burned for several days leaving the building in ruin. Only the stone exterior was left standing. Two years ago, british Prime MinisterDavid Cameron visited the white house. He and the president spoke about the significance of that night. Its now been 200 years since the british came here to the white house under a somewhat different circumstances. They really lit up the place. As i stand here to think that 200 years ago my ancestors tried to burn this place down. 230u looking looking around me, i can see you have the place a little better defended today. People forget about it. But its the turning point really. It really was. Extraordinary. Very punfunny. Coming up, a crack in the earth that has scientists puzzled. It stretches for about a mile and even cut a highway in half. Well tell you about it. Youre watching cbs this Morning Saturday. Ben rhodes said the threat is greater today than it was section monthsix months ago. We will do whatever is necessary to see justice is done. We have shown time and again that if there is a counterterrorism threat, well take direct action if necessary. Reporter rhodes comments came after mr. They didnt get the capabilities overnight and we recognize it will take a while. Rfrt reporter the president hasnt received any military options beyond what has already beenchore authorized in iraq. He will return to washington tomorrow. Julianna, thanks. This week isis released the video showing the brutal murder of james foley. Some say the u. S. Government could have done more to secure his relief. Holly williams has the story from istanbul. Reporter the murder of james foley has ignited a debate about how the u. S. Deals with terrorist groups that demand a ransom for their hostages. So that village over there just beyond the border . Isis. Reporter on turkeys border with syria you can see towns controlled by isis. Just 50 miles away is the capital of what isis calls its own Islamic State where it is believed to be Holding Around 12 foreign hostages. Negotiating the release of abducted westerners is a lucrative fight for the government. They paid several Million Dollars for the freedom of six european journalists earlier this year though they officially denied it. In contrast james foley was executed after isis flapddemanded 132 million for his release. The u. S. Government says it wont pay a ransom to terrorists. Theyre getting money for their despicable terrible acts and, you know the conclusion is going to be lets kidnap more people and get more money. Reporter former fbi chief Hostage Negotiator told us european governments may be encouraging more abductions. But the u. S. Position he said is too inflexible. Its not a one size fits all. Saying we wont negotiate does little to help resolve the situation and it does even less to prevent say americans or others from being grabbed. Reporter he told us prisoner swaps and payments in humanitarian aid rather than cash can sometimes be effective. But he also said isis appears to be barbaric and not always rational which may make any russian trucks left with equipment from military plants in ukraine. Much of the nation has been battered by rough weather. In washington state, heavy rain and flooding closed roads and triggered mudslides that washed homes off hillsides. At least ten homes were destroyed. There were no reported injuries. Lets find out what is next from meteorologist ed kern of our chicago station. We have some very hot temperatures in parts of the country for today. Take a look at some of these highs were looking at for today. We will see a high of about 98 in phoenix, and then under this dome of heat 100 in dallas, 97 in kansas city 99 in little rock, 90 for lexington, 94 in atlanta. We have heat advisories that stretch from missouri and Central Illinois all the way down to northern florida. Around the edges of the heat, we can pop some thunderstorms that could give flooding downpours and we have a slight risk for severe for parts of the dakotas into minnesota with large hail damaging winds, and perhaps even a tornado in those areas. And this morning, weve seen some action in that area already with showers and thunderstorms. But its this disturbance were watching giving some very heavy downpours in the area of puerto rico and hispaniola. This is thought to organize over the next day or so perhaps even into a Tropical Storm as it continues its trek northwestward toward the United States. It bears watching and we will be watching it over the next couple of days. And it will be a story for us to watch in weather this week. Thank you, ed. This morning for the First Time Since monday there are no National Guard troops on the streets of ferguson, missouri. Two weeks ago today, an officer shot and unarmed black teen touching off protests and violence in the treats. Reporter and this is a relatively quiet night out here. This is the street where for about a mile and a half, row test tors walked up and down carrying signs, and chanting hands up dont shoot. In the past few nights, though, a more respectable form of protests weve seen. Last night, about 100 protesters all chanting in support of Michael Brown shot to death by officer wilson. At one point, a group were walking in the middle of the street. They were asked to move to the sidewalk and they did. And so there were no arrests overnight. This is also the first night that the National Guard started to pull out of ferguson. They have been lear to protect the command and control center before were also learning bts racial makeup of the protesters which seems to be shift to go a more diverse group. Weve seen a shift in the neighborhood. Its starting to come together not just through protests but community outreach. There have been tents popping up offering free food, even offering to pay bills in some situations. More are people tried to register voters. And so really today, thats the makeup much the makeup of the crowd. There is a pesace rally planned this afternoon. And on monday Michael Browns parents will lay him to rest. This morning the government is warning about hacker attacks at retail stores. More than 50 u. P. S. Stores reported a data breach of customer information. More than 1,000 retailers have been notified that they could be infected. Theyre being asked to check Cash Register computers and remove any hacker software. Drivers have to do more than just avoid a pothole in northern mexico. That is because a huge crash just over half a mile long and 16 feet across has formed a split that was caused by heavy rain and increased flow of underground water. The Mexican Government says it may have been caused by an earthquake. Look at that. Unbelievable footage. They say all of this was shot wouldby a drone. The Science Fiction classic just celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special episode seen by more than 30 Million Viewers worldwide. A new Series Premieres tonight with the 12th doctor. Peter and jenna are here with the executive producer and head writer. Good morning to you all. Peter, let me start with you. You have been a fan of the show since you were five years old. Thats right. And you even wrote a letter to the bbc when you were 15 . I did. And who would like it see that 15yearold on national television. Very embarrassing to hear my voice as a 15yearold congratulating the bbc so such a successful season of dr. Who. But, yeah, i loved the show. Just something about it that grabbed me. And really took me through my boyhood, my childhood up until i discovered sex and drugs and rock and roll and moved on from it. There is just something that is powerful. So what was it like to get the call for the part . Incredible. Because obviously i dont mean i spent my whole life Walking Around saying i wish i was doctor who or mourning the fact that i wasnt. But when somebody said you are there who, i was like wow, this is like the biggest Christmas Present ever. Jenna, how did it all affect you . Because you had a flirty relationship with the previous doctor and now peter has a Different Air about him. Have that i thinks s things changed . Yes, the whole dynamic is thrown up in the air. We begin the relationship by saying im not your boyfriend and we move on with that dynamic and this relationship which is incredibly complicated. We basically tell the story of what would you do if your best friend in the world changes his face and his person as well. And kind of find our way with that. As head writer, is thisthis is a tricky transition. This global fandom builds and youve made this radical change. I dont want to say you went to somebody older because peter has roughly the same number of birthdays i have. But its a big transition. How do you write your way into Something Like this and not antagonize the fans . Dr. Who doesnt survive in spite of james but because of james. So it reboots the show. In one sense its the same and in another, completely different. One minute can be matt smith and the next peter or john hurt, then you should do that because its fun and exciting. The moment the fan base says i dont know if he should be the doctor youve got it right. Keep them alarmed, keep them off balance. People dont watch Television Shows to be reassured. They want to be alarmed and scared. Im sure you find that in news all the time. Are you finding any donees at the moment . Peetser, we know you said you wanted to play the role if it felt right. There is a sense about him that there is a whole hidden dr. Who who has access to a relationship with the universe which is slightly different. Hes slightly fiercer. Hes more impatient with human beings. But i wouldnt want to say hes grim because hes not. Hes a passionate ennews yis for thusnewsist thusnews yis for this position that hes in. And he can see beauty in everything. And he gets really irritated when other people dont. And if he asks you to come with him and he hezsitate, hes gone. Because hes offering you the most fabulous opportunity there is. Hes impatient if you dont see him. And he travels in that wonderful time machine that is a british phone box. This show which has been around for 50 years seems in the last five or ten to have really taken off. What do you think happened . I think we started promoting it abroad better. Thats one thing that happened. Other people are catching up i suppose. Its one of the more entertaining shows you can see. I didnt think there is who cultural barrier. And you can jump on anytime. Hardly anyone has watched all of it because it is so long. So you can start right now. You dont have to do your studying. Just jump on right now. It will make exactly as much sense as it ever does if you start right now. If you want to see the beginning of the series, you can watch it. Pretty exceptional. Thank you all so much for being here. Good luck tonight with the episode. Its fantastic. Again, dr. Who premieres tonight on bbc america. Something new for the Great American sports car. The new 2015 she havechevy corvette is sexy but if youre a Park Technology is watching every move you make. Im Brandon Scott near chicago. That story coming up on cbs this Morning Saturday. We were in prison camps, machine guns pointed at us. Search lights followed us when we made the night runs to the latrine. I grew up as a boy from 5 to almost 9 four years in an eninterment camp. The worst part for us as kids was being released coming home. Because we were penniless. Everything had been taken from us. Our first home was on skid row in downtown los angeles. Hostility was still intense. My fathers first job was a dishwasher in a restaurant. So many of us know you and have followed you because we watched star trek growing up and that character sulu you still have so many fans. You have a huge social media following. How did that happen . Well, it started with scifi geeks and nerds. But one of my missions in life is to tell the story of the internment. Because i think we learned more from those chapters of our history where our democracy faltered than from the many, many glorious chapters that we have about. And is there a lot of that in the documentary . There is a lot of that in the documentary. We developed a musical on that chapter of american history. Happy birthday bao bao, the newest edition to the National Zoo Panda collection. Shes oneyearold and the zoo is celebrating. The zoo says she doesnt always listen when her mother or trainers reach out to her. She loves frozen apple juice and pears. Her name means princess or treasure in chinese. She will miss all this attention when they send her back when shes four. Here is a fact that may surprise you. Parking cars is an 18 billion industry in this country. But parking attendants dont get much of that cash. And if youve ever handed your car keys over to a value layet it you probably felt a bit nervous. And now there is something used to keep tabs on valets. It, you probably felt a bit nervous. And now there is something used to keep tabs on valets. , you probably felt a bit nervous. And now there is something used to keep tabs on valets. Reporter in the 1986 classic ferris buehlers day off, three teens put the fate of their fancy ferrari in the hands of a suspicious valet. Im a professional. Reporter and instead of park the car, he took off with it. What do people say to you . I get the comment all the time. Youre not going to pull a ferris buehler, are you . Reporter daniel has been parking cars for nearly ten years. And while he hasnt gone on any joy rides, he admits it has crossed his mind. You get that temptation. Youre holding that wheel and youre like, i just want to give it a little bit of a gas, you know. Reporter so thats why developers at chevrolet came up with this, a first of its kind valet monitor and put it inside their brand new 2015 corvette. All you have to do is go setting and valet mode. And then from here just like a hotel safe you pick a four digit code of your preference. Reporter monty works for chevy and showed us the system. There is a camera right here behind will the rear view mirror. It records audio. Microphone is right here. So it is shooting right in front of us, our producer . Yes. Reporter you really cant get away with anything in this car. Thats kind of the idea. We joke its a baby monitor for your baby. You will be able to know exactly what happened to your car while it was out of your control. Reporter this technology was initially developed for the track since corvettes are popular racecars that can hit speeds of up to 175 miles an hour. This driving data helps racers improve their technique, but now its also a tool to help anxious owners keep an eye on their investment p. We will probably see more of this absolutely. Especially with luxury bands and High Performance cars. Reporter an auto analyst for edmunds. Com believes it is just a matter of time before other carmakers follow the corvette. Any team youtime you can protect your car and belongings from potential theft or damage, its a good thing. Reporter so to give the technology a try, we rolled up to the parking stand and entered our valet code. He knew we were watching and he parked it perfectly. What was it like for you to get behind the wheel of that car knowing everything you did was on camera and recorded . Are you kidding me some a little nervous at first. Respect the cars and respect other peoples things. Thats what it comes down to. Reporter golden rule for stral lays. That now is always little tougher to break. Brandon scott, chicago. And you named your first restaurant for your grandmother. Yeah, my 93yearold grand democratic m ma and shes still cooking every day. A huge inspiration for me. Did you always know you wanted to do this or was there a moment when you suddenly said thats it . I think there was definitely a moment. I knew i loved food, but i think having some experience in the industry really i saw what the capabilities were what the opportunities were to make it a business, you know. On top of the wonderful and successful business so many people recognize you from iron chef. Is it the Pressure Cooker that it seems like no pun intended . Iron chef is one of the most fun things ive ever done in my career. It challenges me professionally creatively. And its competition. Youre racing against the clock and trying to beat your competitor who wants to make you look bad. I dont think of that as something youd associate with chefs in kitchens. So its a little unnatural in a sense. But in fact the Restaurant Industry is very competitive. Absolutely. It continues to be more and more competitive. I think that being an iron chef has forced me to really compete on television, but it also helps me forge my Business Plans going forward. Because the Restaurant Industry is hugely competitive. Were looking at beautiful images. And im assuming some of these have to be to your working farm in pennsylvania. Yeah. I started a farm about four years ago. Were in our Fourth Season there. And i grow vegetables organic vegetables, micro grains that we deliver to all of our restaurant this is philadelphia and on the east coast. So that has been a great process of learning. For years i used to get produce delivered to my back step of my restaurants and really learning where it comes from how it is made has been a great process. And your kids take a part of the farm too. They do. If theyre in trouble, they have some farm labor that they owe me.
