And off the field last night. A sinkhole 200 feet across and growing. That and much more on cbs this Morning Saturday, august 3rd, 2013. Captioning funded by cbs and good morning. Welcome to the weekend. Nice to see you. I know. Nice weather ahead in new york as well. I hope so yeah. We begin today with the al qaeda Terror Threat that led the state department to close 22 embassies and consulates in cities across the muslim world. U. S. Officials also issue add global alert warning, americans everywhere to take precautions. Jeff pegues has the latest. Embassyies and them closing down. S he ee directed his National Security team to take all appropriate steps to protect the american people. U. S. Officials are increasingly concerned about al qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and its master bomb maker who allegedly built the underwear bomb used to nearly blow up an airliner on Christmas Day at detroit metropolitan airport. All of our explosive detection equipment which screens over a million checked bags every day just in the u. S. Wasnt calibrated to detect that. Reporter there are a few specific details about what kind of attack could be in the works. Analysts believe somewhere in yemen is the most likely target and ominously warn it could be anywhere in the arc of mostly muslim countries. Already the government plans to build 22 consulates and embassies beginning tomorrow. The state department is alerting u. S. Citizens for what it calls the continued potential for terrorist attacks with Public Transportation and other infrastructures as the terror targets. Obviously its important that we ensure that everyone is safe overseas. Other western countries are affected by this as well. Britain has closed its embassy in yemen and is urging all of its citizens to leave the country. That travel alert, by the way, until the end of the month. Anthony . Jeff pegues in our washington bureau. Thank you, jeff. For more on this were joined by our National Security analyst want zahrajuan zarate. Good morning, juan. Good morning, anthony. You hear in the piece its a sear krus threat. How serious is it for them to take these kinds of steps . Well, anthony, i dont think youd see it unless they were concerned that this was a real and significant plot from a serious terrorist group and every indication suggests that this is real plotting real planning by al qaeda. They dont have specificity with respect to the timing itself. Theyre taking general precautions of a type that you rarely see. You know when you mention state department, i think the natural thing for people to think about is benghazi. Im curious. Are some of the lessons we learned in that situation being transferred over here . Absolutely vinita. I think the state department was stung by the realities of the tragedy of benghazi and the criticism that came, the fact that they did not see recruiter those diplomatic posts at a time when the threats in eastern benghazi libya, were rising. Theyre not going to take any chances and so they are protecting the facilities abroad and the personnel with them. Juan it would seem to me in closing the embassies we also thn create a rink at a point when we choose to reopen them. Is there not a concern there . Absolutely, anthony. Theres a question as to when this threat really abates. If were not able to get to the bottom of the threat if we dont really get information or able to disrupt it definitively the question for officials is at what point do we reopen the doors of our embassies . We have to do diplomacy. We have to be present. The key question is at what point is the threat no longer real and the reality for intelligence officials is we never know. Remember in 2010 we had a serious threat by eeofficials. No one knows what really happened to that threat. That was a problem for the officials. We may never know ultimately what was planned here. Can you put this into context for us . We hear these threats from time to time. But what does it say about the broader war on terror . Where are we right now . Well vinita theres been a lot of talk especially after the death of bin laden, the core aill qaeda is largely decimated. Groups like al qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and yemen where the threats are believed to come from these are groups that are not only strategically savvy but operationally very good and still committed to attacking the united states. And that mean whence you see information coming from a group like that that theyre intent on hitting u. S. Interests, we have to take it seriously. Juan, thank you. Juan zarate in washington. Thank you. The latest Terror Threat will be up for discussion tomorrow morning on face the nation. Bob schieffers greft will be senator Chuck Schumer and paul ryan. This could be the intense weekend for the leagues highest paid player Alex Rodriguez. He played in a minors game but afterward faced tough questions. Don dahler has more. Good morning, vinita. Once upon a time there was an exciting young player named arod. He was peg add superstar and for a while he didnt disappoint becoming the youngest player to reach 500 home runs and then to reach f 600, but that was then. For one shining moment last night Alex Rodriguez reminding all of baseball who he used to be. The home run was a momentary distraction from what the highest paid player in baseball is known for now. Alex are you prepared to fight bud selig on any suspensions he may hand down . You know i cant comment on that right now. Its still an ongoing investigation. I will follow with due process. Reporter according to a Major League Team executive, rodriguez is up to one of 15 players facing suspension or worse for performanceenhancing drug use tied to a notorious florida clennic. Fans at last nights game were conflicted. I think hes bringing a lot of bad and negative publicity to the team. Im kind of hoping this might be the end for him and were not going to see him again. I think it would be sad for baseball, one of the greatest players going down like that. Reporter the other players are expected to receive 50game suspensions but arod is in a field all his own. A source with knowledge of the investigation says hes facing a much longer suspension or even a lifetime ban. Are they trying to make an example of him because he is such a big name . They feel he actively tried to obstruct the investigation. They feel like he recruited players. They felt its time to hit him with the biggest a penalty we can come up with. Reporter the source tells us theyre giving rodriguez two exceptions. Stay out the rest of the season or fight it. The latter would cost him the remainder of his contract 100 million. Arod would lose approximately 34 million if he takes a long suspension, but he still makes 60 million when he returns at the age of 40. Now whats lost in all the talks of suspension and money is a man once considered one of the greatest players ever has seen his reputation and the possibility of a place in the hall of fame go down in flames. Vinita . Don dahler thank you. Sean gregory is a Senior Writer for Time Magazine and has followed it closely. Good morning to you, sean. Good morning. Whats been happening the past two weeks . Is it the money or the game . What are they arguing about right now . Its a game of chicken. Baseball has an incentive to get arod out of here and arod knows this. If he doesnt accept the suspension theyre offering he can drag it out and get the best deal he can. For all practical purposes, sean, this isnt really about him playing anymore. Even in the minimal suspension he comes back when hes 39 right, and basically his career is over. This is really game about money isnt it . Its game about money and the message they want to send. Were cleaning this up. We have to see the evidence but if he was on struktding with the investigation, recruiting other players to biogenesis bud selig gets to send a message that what he did was as serious as pete rose and anybody else did if a lifetime ban is thrown out there. Its been fascinating to watch. Arod has never tested positive for anything. Its all incriminating. People are wondering if bud selig is being too aggressive talking about a lifetime ban . Are they making him a scapegoat . We have to see the evidence. If everything makes it so obvious that he did more than just use p. E. D. S a little bit its not beyond the realm of fairness. Also arod is talking out of both sides of his mouth. You know he gave lectures to kids, dont do steroids dont do steroids in 2009 after admitting to doing it. If he did steroids in 2009 the yankees won the world series when he was doing steroids. Lance armstrong also never testified positive but there can be krinlincriminating evidence. Put some light on what don dahler was talking about. A few years ago they thought he was going to pass barry bonds and set the home run record. Now look at where he is. One thing people were saying is, you know dont worry about this dont get too stressed about this. I went back and looked at that. It was left with oh im embarrassed. It was sad and the end of the story was, you know it would be nice to smile about a slugger once again and were not smiling. In this moment i didnt see hank aaron pass babe ruth. I wanted that a home run record. Now, theres so many questions. Arod will do it. Doesnt look like its going to happen. You missed out twice. What about the postseason. A lot of people said it needed to happen by friday or sunday because then it makes the others eligible for the postseason. Is that sending a mixed message . Were going to come down hard on you but you can play in the playoffs. Remember the giants had melky cabrera. He was suspended and they didnt want him back. Fascinating subject. Thank you. Thank you. A stomach outbarack has been linked to salads served at two restaurants and the salad comes from a plant in mexico. Investigators are working to see if the same illness is to blame for the other sicknesses in 14 states. Reporter cyclospora was found in salad that came from a plant in mexico. There are outbreaks of cyclospora going on. At this point we cant connect the two. Reporter Health Officials do not believe the tainted salad mix is still in is supply chain. Thousands of supporters of ousted former president morsi friday night Clarissa Ward is in cairo. Good morning, clarissa. Whats the situation there this morning . Reporter good morning, anthony and vinita. Deputy burns is here in cairo. Trying to prevent further violence violence. He has met with the countrys defense minister general ceecee the former minister. Once again this city was con vul jed by massive street demonstrations with Police Firing tear gas on ousted supporters of morsi. State run television ran a report saying security sources were ready to cordon off the area in 48 hours. That would be by tomorrow afternoon. The interior minister denied the report, but certainly this is fueling speculation that Security Forces are looking at other ways to try and break up these protests that possibly instead of going in there forcefully and trying to push the protesters ow they may look at ways to bring the protesters out, possibly by cutting off their water or food supplies. Certainly here in cairo theres a sense that patience is wearing thin but they want people to deal with the camps and deal with the Muslim Brotherhood once and for all and is that means that the window appears to be naer rowing and burns certainly has his work cut out for him. Vinita and thoents . Clarissa ward in cairo. Thank you, clarissa. Employers added a modest 162,000 jobs. That was enough to push the Unemployment Rate down to 7. 4 . Here to help us is lauren lyster. Good morning. Good morning, guys. They thought it would be 185,000. Indeed. Its bad report. Its a disappointing report. I know it seemed mixed, the lowest rating on the year that sounds great however, it could be because more people drop out of the labor force because we saw the Participation Rate drop. Not what you want to see. At the same time the jobs that you referred to was below expectations, which is never good, and on slower pace than what weve seen. Its slowly improving the jobs market, however its a disappointing report. These werent particularly great jobs either. Yeah. Most of the jobs added were in retail or leisure and hosstalt which includes restaurants and bars. So these are not exactly the highest paying jobs. Theyre low. This was the first drop since october and in general wages have risen 1. 9 to keep up with inflation. That could be why even though jobs are improving, we dont see people being comforted by the improve managements because if youre not making more money, you dont feel grade grate. Exactly. Whats happening . What was the are e response from this report . The market did wait does on so many days. Struggled a bit, went down on bad news and rose to another record. What do you know . Its really a complicated kind of scenario throw. Its not reacting to norway news. Its reacting to what is Federal Reserve policies. Perhaps a disappointing jobs report will taper its policies bond buying layer rather than sooner. The feds going to stay in the game. Yeah. Its almost like they dont want the economy to be too hot or too cold. In this case they think the fed will leave things where they are right now, right . The status quo. The policies have been boosting price, namely stock. So its a very significant number. One point i would make on the low wage drops that i think dries it home we had dan albert who did a whole analysis of it. He found that 57 of the job in the first half of the year have been in these low wage sectors. He said were becoming a naks of burger flippers. Those are his words, not mine, that create ss a difference. Its still going to take us until the next year to get is to 6 minnesota 5 Unemployment Rate that ben bernanke wants us to get to right . Exactly. Thats why he keeps saying, you know tapering isnt tightening. Were keeping rates low, the fed fund rates until at least unemployment is 6 president 5 . The targets a little higher in terms of winding down the bond buyer mortgage but i think the mem has said were not going anywhere. Disappointly but not the worth we even seen. Thanks guys. Ellen degeneres has been capped to host the awards. This year the master of ceremonies was seth mcfarland. His performance drew mixed reviews but great ratings. The oscars will be hosted on march 2nd. Thats a really big surprise. They were targeting the yummer demographic because of seth mcfarland. And my son whos 12 years old watched it because of seth. Was he happy . Well yeah. Heres a look at the weather for your weekend. Defense. Why some are now calling the man accused of 19 murders a coward. And later, why would a 2yearold need a smartphone . Youll be amazed at how many toddlers already have them. Not mine anthony. Dont worry. You youre watching cbs this Morning Saturday. Uhhh, it is a little awkward being on the market again. But uh, i. You see, a pope inherits certain revelation and its his job to guard that and pass it on. That does not come from him. We inherit that from gods revelation in the bible, in natural law, so he couldnt change that if he wanted to. Let me quote the new york times. The fact that he made such comments and used the word gay was nevertheless revolutionary and likely to generate discussion in local diocese. Revolutionary. That goes back to gayles point. Emphasis and tone. Gentle merciful tone. Thats refreshing. I for one hate to see that it snies were you surprised . No. Whats surprising is people were surprised. I was on at easter time and i got tons of mail you asked me you put me on the spot im glad you did. What would you say to a gay couple that said to you what does the church say to us. He chose not to testify and Closing Argument is set for monday with deliberations begin to be set on tuesday. Elaine quijano has the story. Reporter james Whitey Bulger once told a former prison pal he couldnt wait to tell his story but he passed up his chance declining to take the stand during his federal racketeering trial. He told the judge im making choice involuntarily, adding later, as far as im concerned i didnt get a fair trial, this is a sham do what you want with me thats it thats my final word. Boston globe analyst has more. I would say that Whitey Bulger is many things and one of the things he is a bully, and bully are cowards. Reporter tom donahue and hi family share the same views. I have nothing but rage. Hatred throughout my wholebody. Reporter his dad was gunned down. His mother pat was in the courtroom and said youre a coward. Hes a guy who murdered all over the place, cut women, buried bodies. You dont go up and give your story . Im more than aggravated. Reporter he fled boston in 1994 after a tip from a corrupt fbi agent. He spent 16 years on the run. Then in 2011 agent closed in on the california apartment where hed been hiding with his longtime girlfriend. Agents found guns and more than 800,000 in cash stashed inside his apartment wall. They have realized he committed crimes but said hes never an informant informant. I mean his own lawer copped almost the entire indictment. Hes going to be found guilty. Hes going down. Hes walking there in chains. I cant say ill be sorry to see him go. For cbs this Morning Saturday, elaine quijano. Cbs news analyst Rikki Klieman was there. He did talk in that courtroom. Oh, talk indeed. First i have to say that when it was announced outside the presence of the jury that the defense would rest and that was the last within there was a collective gasp. We were breathless. Everyone had a feeling that Whitey Bulger was going to testify and everyone was disappointed, but testify in his own way he did. What he said to the judge was he was making this choice in voluntarily. That hes a big legal buzz word. He said his defense was choked off, that he didnt get a fair trial, that he did not get to present his immunity defense where he said an assistant u. S. Attorney jeremiah t. Osullivan, that he said he would be immunized for all of his crimes in exchange for Whitey Bulger protecting his life. By the way, when i was in boston at this time there were great rumors that the mafia did have a contract out on this assistant u. S. Attorney. So it was a quid pro quo. Right. So i mean when he did finally speak not to what everybody expected what was the atmosphere in the courtroom then . Well, the atmosphere became very charged. Patricia donahue who was just in the piece we saw, Patricia Donahue really lost it for a moment. She screamed at him, youre a coward. And there was this feeling when i sit, i sit right next to the victims families and the victims wanted Whitey Bulger to speak. Why . The donahue family wants to know who was the second shooter. They wont hear that. The rest of us want to know. What Police Officers fbi agent, state police, who else was paid off . How high did i got . Did it go all the way to washington . Now we wont know unless whitey writes a book. To you think his defense team has put on a telling indication. These two lawyers are magnificent, jay carney and hank brennan, and what they have done, they could not present this immunity defense but they tried to push it in little bit by little bit and what you wound up with is lawyers doing the best that they could for a man who made a decision that he was not going to take the stand and i guarantee you he made that decision very much at the end of the trial. There was a time when he wanted to testify and toward the end of the trial for whatever reasons he had. He would not dignify the proceedings in his mind by arguing them. We still have Closing Arguments on monday. How much is left . I think the Closing Arguments, which will take all daymond. The jury will be instructed on tuesday. There are only two counts hell care an in this case. They are the murders of deborah. Theres beautiful defense to show that Steven Flemmi had the mow it is to kill both of these women and in fact yesterday in court one of the most dramatic moments besides Whitey Bulger saying he was not taking the stand was the reading in of the testimony of the mother of deborah where she learns that stevey flemmi for years. She throws him out of the house, her daughter leaves and she never sees her daughter again. 35 days of dramatic testimony. Rikki klieman, thank you. Thank you. Three out of four people surveyed say they dont want their managers position. D us that surprise you . No, it doesnt surprise me. People have had a lot of shifts out of what they want out of work, life, and their careers. Why do people stay in their current position . The big one is work life balance. They want flexibility, balance family, they have a long career path that keeps them in line now. They may have a Good Relationship with their colleagues and maybe theres an Office Dynamic of okay, you dont love your boss and he works a thousand miles away and you dont have to see him every day. Whats the risk. Theres the risk of underachievement and being stuck in a job. What are the risks . It depends on the job. They may havebe on borrowed time. At some point someones going to want to move you out of it. I feel like in my career this totally foreign territory. You talk about it affecting family and life and Everything Else. When do you say no . Lets see youre on career path a but you want to be on path b and if you get promoted too many times on a, its going to be harder to move over. Maybe you want a career path switch lateral move and a bit reason to decline a promotion. Theres the category of im afraid, i feel like im not ready, an imposter feeling sometimes where they feel like theyre a fraud if they have more responsibility. Thats not great for your career. You want to do a gut check and think, okay, its time to get over that. How do you convince your employer youre in the right place . Definitely say youre flattered. Try to couch it as a win win. How is this beneficial for the employer as well as for you. And another big thing, once you decline the promotion, dont check out. Stay with the team contribute in other ways and come up with different ways to short of show youre really passionate and go above and beyond in that current position even more. Last but not least, i was fascinated. You say someone who wants to stay in a position can hurt but also help their employer. Absolutely. I think about it. You heard that right. 25 of American Kids under age 2 now have their own smartphone. Is that just too young . Lets ask dr. Gail saltz a psychiatrist and lee woodruff. Good morning, ladies. Im sorry. What . Who are these toddlers . Beverly hills . Whos doing this . Lets start with you. Whos buying these cell phones and what are they doing with cell phones at under 2 . I think its crazy. No toddler needs to be using a smartphone but i want to know who these parents are as well. I have a lot to say about it. First of all, basic brain development. A toddler should be rolling around, touching things developing their brains not checking out the latest youtube video. Gayle, what does it mean for the childs growth . Can it negatively impact it . It can. These are the years you should be developing vocabulary which means speaking and listening, so if youre engaging in a gadget youre really minimizing that. We evenve seen all kinds of data on play and weve seen how it is to be board and stimulate play and builds creativity. People dont realize a smartphone is really structured time. Its really structuring and unfortunately i dont think parents realize what their kids are doing on the phone. Even as theyre older, older than 2 even teens, their frontal lobe is not fully developed which is the area houses consequence and judgment. Their ability to say this is not a good game for me or i shouldnt send this message or photo as weve seen over time is really not so terrific. So parents really have to think about this idea. This is probably for babysitting purposes or the fear that your child cant be bored, you know, which is really a bad idea. But, lee, im curious also because i think right now technology is so intertwined in all of our lives. I think some parents who are giving their kids a phone i admit, i have an 18monthold i let him watch elmo on the cell phone. Ive watched my own kids and i have four with their own device and it takes them five minutes to do. I dont think we have to worry about them falling behind. What gails concerned with is how do we get them to interact with each other. Youre not learning whats nuance, whats satire whats funny, whats not. Body language. A toddler especially needs to be using their five senses. We were talking about this earlier. Theres a book called the creativity gear and what gail said. When your mind and hands are engaged, when youre doing crafts rolling around touching things, digging in the dirt gardening with mom, those are things that have proven to ultimately pull you out of later depression when you are later to physically do things. Thats really interesting but part of the problem is the parents are doing this as mel as the cutches, kids right . Yes. And that modeling makes them want to be like you. Theyre going to watch you and repeat it. Theyre going to tell you every kid has it why cant they too. Its hard but its your job to say no. And if you let your child have a phone to limit how long they can spend on it. You know not more than an hour in a day. Not let them have their own account so they can get apps to know theyre getting, to screen any app that youre letting them have because its one thing to say its for educational value, but if you look at most of what theyre having theres nothing educational about it. But there are wonderful educational apps. Oh, look these things can be used for kids with autism and so on. But kids with autism adhd theyre more likely to get addicted. So you really have to look at what youre letting them have. Someones going to lose privileges too. Youre in trouble. Coming up, thing you can do this . The sheriff doesnt know when the sinkhole will stop expanding but it is dangerous and hes warning people to stay away. They are planning to break up two sitins. About two dozen people were injured in clashes between police and morsi supporters. Clarissa ward is in cairo. U. S. Secretary of state William Burns is here in cairo trying to prevent further violence. Hes met with the defense minister, also the foreign minister and the muslim brothers top leaders. Yesterday this city was once again convulsed by massive street protests with police fearing tear gas on promorsi supporters in one rally and state run television says Security Forces are planning to cordon off an area by tomorrow afternoon. The report said that after the cordon has been formed people will be allowed to leave the camp but they wont be allowed to enter the camp. Now, the interior industry has denied this report but certainly its fueled speculation that Security Forces are looking at a variety of ways to disperse the camps that instead of going in there and pushing them out, they might try to sort of bleed the protesters out by either cutting off their water or cutting off their food supply. Certainly here in cairo among ordinary people there is a sense that patience is wearing thin that people want the government to deal diseaseecisively with the brotherhood and the camps as soon as possible and the window for negotiation and dialogues is getting smaller and smaller. Certainly burns has his work cut out for him. For cbs this Morning Saturday, Clarissa Ward cairo. Pope francis has put in an aggressive first four months stirring up the vatican. After his recent chip to brazil francis raised eyebrows with his comments about gays and will in the Roman Catholic church. Joining us is a spokesman and sister diane fielder, host of interfaith. Good morning. Good morning. You were with us when they chose the pope. You were hoping for a reformer at that time. Is francis the pope you were hoping for . Not quite. I give him high marks for his change in tone and style and emphasis on life solidarity on the poor and whole emphasis on solidarity much applies but i think hes got a ways to go particularly when it comes to rolls of women in the church and even lgbt issues. He even said when it comes to gay people, who am i to judge. Thats a revolutionary statement because the vatican halls always assumed that it could judge. I think people like it because as one commentator said in the Washington Post its taking the uponpontiff i indication of the pope. No matter who they are or what circumstances theyre involved in. Youre talking about a tonal shift then. Its clearly a tonal shift because youre putting people before theology. Youre putting a shift between the pope. In the meantime the theology is staying the same and what we believe is the same but how were presenting that is a little different. I think whats being done is essentially pope francis was a parish priest of a local diocese. Why are right winged catholics saying theyre not happy with them . I dont know if theyre not happy with them. I think that certainly there are some people stylistically who agree with some things but i dont believe theyre unhappy. I cant help that as a catholic were getting hearing in the press. Were talking about things that matter to us as catholics. Sister maureen, yo brought up the issue of women and the door was closed to women in the priesthood. How did you feel about that . I was profoundly disappointed frankly, when he said that. The image i see is when Pope John Paul xxiii, who hes going to canonize opened the windows. I hope he looks more at the legacy of john xxiii because this is an area where the church could move forward. He did say the church has what he calls an inadequate theology of womens roles in the church. Well, the hierarchy. Theres an enormous body of feminist theology on this. As an old school teacher, i think i would assign him a little bit of work. I think the issue sister is raising is a problematic one. Whos the greatest of all disciples . The greatest of all disciples was mary. She was not a priest or a bishop. The example of discipleship in the church is mary and i think its an enappropriate concern. You mentioned it. I was in rome when he was elected. The one thing i consistently heard was hes so down to earth. Hes not in the popemobile or in the red shoes. I think its accessful. He was a parish preet and local pastor unlike some. Quickly hourk would you great him . On style, aplus on Everything Else an incomplete. Boy that is a teacher. I dont presume to give a grade to the pope. Ill leave that to the sisters. Theyre much better giving out report cards. Theres no question if you take a look at the pope hes certainly more ak sessionful. What has john paul taught us . About suffering. And pope francis talked about hue mitt. He stepped down from the office. Hes teaching us about accessibility. Monsignor and sister thank you for being here. Thank you. It is now 11 after the hour and now here is the weather for your weekend. Up next digital photography has all but killed off the film camera. Well talk with scott stein, editor of cnet. I look like fred savage from the wonder years but completely naked wearing indian bracelets. Thats a great picture, morton. Am i wearing underwear . No. Remember why . I told it to a therapist eight,000 times. Thanks to digital photography and the internet theyre having a huge impact on how we store and display our pictures. Lets talk with scott stein, Senior Editor of cnet. Are they going the way of photo albums . Im a shame. Im in the between generation. I dont know where my photos are. Theyre at home, in my familys place. I actually would like to see some of those. Ive done a bad job they havent scanned and archived those from where they are in boxes. Its like once i hit 1992 or 20 2002. It seems to many the problem has changed. Up in my closet i have shoe boxes full of prints that i never organized. Now i have all these old devices full of digital photographs that i havent filed. Thats exactly it. Its replicated itself. Maybe it was where you were connecting to your computer but now you may be uploading phones. Wi dont synch them. All of a sudden its all over place. You forget that whats online may not be easily identifiable later. Theyre out there. Are they out there forever and how do they connect Everything Else you have . You want to get back to centralizing and cherishing the photos. Get back to centralizing. I think youre going to give us tips. Yes. Its going to be about simplification. It im distracted. If you care about these things these photographs, pick your favorites. Keep the mess for the future. You dont have to delete anything but take them the ones you care about to a central computer. Make many copies of it. You can get a hard drive for nothing now. Dont rely on one. Get a bunch of them. Give them to your family. I gave my mother something with all your photos you can put on your computer versus going to the when. You still go to cloud but maybe pick one service. You dont have to go everywhere. A lot of them are good at sharing. Maybe its facebook. Flickr flickr. Some of them are free. Some cost money. It depends what you need it for. If youre going to share or store everything as once what are the best services . Flickr is compelling because of the amount you can store on it. If youre looking at drop box, it costs a lot but you can go there. Face gram. It depends on whether youre choosing social connectivity and also googles pauca sa. I like those the best. Quickly on the site you mention can you share the link with friends . Yes. Some are easier to share than others because sometimes they may feel a little bit locked or some have services that fold. Some things like a snap fish you know, is all about creating photo books so they store photos for you but they want you to print the photos and buy that. Some love it and other people find it thats knight nice. Printing them is another way to go. Scott stein, thank you so much. Up next, more and more americans are drinking hard cider instead of beer. Good morning, ray zbhood morning. Great to be here. Whats going on . Its crazy. The last time cider was popular was about 1760. Its suddenly taken off again. Partly its appealing to a younger audience. Partly the beer market is saturated. Its hard to grow it in the u. S. Cider is creeping in. It also appeals to women much more than men and its gluten free which is a big topic. It also sounds like if youre a wine drinker, white wine drinker, this is good. You get apple obviously and floral notes. Thats quite directly pitched by their markets department saying this is a great alternative to white wines. Its the Beer Companies. It was a hard market to begin with and in the past year all of the Big Companies have jumped in in. What have they got in front of us . I think we needed to get to that part. The simmering debate over keeping whales especially orcas or killer whales in captivity is back on the front burner thanks in part to a new documentary called black fish. Shes putting her foot on orchid. You know whats going to happen. She grabs her foom. She whips around and grabs the gate. You see her just ripped from the gate. At this point she knows shes in trouble. Shes under water. Splash and orchid both have her. Shes totally out of view. No other trainer knows that this is happens. Shes lucky. She suffer add broken arm, but it could have been much worse. This show as pilot whale apparently stuck and struggling on the ledge of a pool. Fortunately it survived. Joining us the author of dealt at seaworld. Good morning, david. Good morning. The documentary whats the best argument they put forward for why they should not be kept in captivity . We approached it from two different positions. Im a journalist, shes a mother. We came to the same conclusion. Orcas live long and stay with their families. The dealt rate at seaworld is 2 1 2 times sooner. Thats not ethical and families are separated and calfs are flown to other parks and brothers and sisters are subpoena rated. You claim they become depressed. We cant get inside their heads but if we look inside their behavior we see signs of depression. That gets taken out on their trainers . How big a risk is that . Its very dangerous. They are well trained and these incidents dont happen all the time but when they do happen the potential for serious injury to a human is great. We saw that in 2010. We saw it in this video. And also we need to remember that orcas attack each other as well. We asked seaworld to be part of this discussion. That i declined. They sent a comment. They wrote, to promote black fishs bias that killer whales should not be maintained in a zoological environment. Perhaps most important is the film fails to mention seaworlds commitment to safety of its guests and welfare of its animals. First of all, its not bias. Its evidence. When you look at the facts, some of what ive mentioned, you cant look at this and say, this is okay. They do a lot of work. They do conservation managing rescues and send materials to school but when you actually go to seaworld you dont really learn that much about killer wales and a lot of what you eleven is false. I dont think people leave thinking im going to see killer whales. The information is scant and often not accurate. So advocates say they should be turned back to the waters. Is that feasible . It would be almost impossible to return a captive born one. There are a few who were caught in the wild. We know where at least two of their families are around they could possibly be returned. The others we think should be highing to sea pens. They get to retire after they work. These animals wornlt a nets off, they could live out their liefs. Its a win, win, win, for the public, the whales and seaworld. David kerby, thanks so much for being with us. Thank you. Thank you. And now a file look alt your weather for the weekend. The movie is getting high praise from the critics unlike some of the other films. Matt is a critic. Matt, good morning. Good morning, guys. The basic plot is a woman on the verge of a breakdown. Does it get all the praise . I think theyre talking about her already as a potential oscar nominee. Overall i think its a soso movie. When you have a performance as good as hers in the lead it smooktss over the rough edges. What makes a good woody allen movie movie. Theres woody allen the actor and yood allen the view.
