She and her brother eric will not be able to vote for their father next tuesday because they missed the october deadline to register to vote. We are not a family of politicians. We havent been in politics very long. New york has one with of the most onerous rules in terms of registration and it required us to register a long time ago, almost close to a year ago. And we didnt do that. We found out about it sort of after the fact. Ivanka trump says she has always been an independent and calls the campaign a geat educational experience. North carolinas governor says that he is changing part of a controversial new law affecting the rights of gays, lesbian, and transgender people. There has been a growing backlash to the law that knocked down several antidiscrimination measures. Governor pat mccrory says he has been listening to the feedback. Based on this feedback, i am taking action to confirm the states equality and to that end today ive signed an executive order with the goal of achieving that fine balance. The executive order expands the equal Employment Policy for state employees to include Sexual Orientation and gender, and he ask will the legislature to restore the right of all workers to sue over state court to discrimination but the access to public toilets, that remains. Gay rights activists say mccrorys actions simply dont go far enough. This morning, southern texas is under the threat of severe thunderstorms and damaging hail. The texas teenager who used affluenza as a defense in a fatal drunk driving wreck is scheduled to appear in adult court this morning. Ethan couch turned 19 on monday. He would be ordered to spend 120 days in jail as part of his adult probation. President obama is expected to sign a bill passed by the house aimed at combating the zeika virus but the measure is less than the president hoped for. It follows a warning by u. S. Reporter this 46yearold landscaper, who does not want to be identified, came down with zika after traveling to brazil s last month. He says the symptoms were unbearable. The rash. Reporter when jason saw a 700pound leatherback sea turtle caught up in rope off dana point on sunday, his only thought was to free him. I knew i had to do and i didnt know what to expect. Reporter without a wet suit or a plant, he grabbed a knife. Just keep going like this. Im going to jump off and grab on to him. Im going to take it off here. Reporter seconds later, he jumped. He says the cord was wrapped all the way around the turtles body. He cut quickly, but carefully, not to hurt the turtle. I pulled myself up. He stayed pretty much on the surface the whole time. I got him. I got it cut off as much as possible and it looked pretty free and swam pretty fast away from me after that. Reporter the native hawaiian say his aunt and grandmother on the big island often saved sea turtles, considered sacred animals in their family. This was his first rescue.
